6146 Tasting Notes
mmmmm sample from cookies so that i could try a few what-cha teas before i make a purchase. This one IS quite lovely as others have said. It’s malty and almost sweet but not quite. I didn’t get overly cocoa notes from this one, but there is a sense of that coming through in the background. Overall, i really nice cup of tea! thanks cookies!
JoonSusanna sent this one my way and since my cupboard is going to explode when things get here this month, i figure i better get a move on some of my smaller quantity/sample size teas. no one seems to be certain if this tea is the right listing or the other. as a general rule, this tea is less a tea for me than it is a tea for me but i don’t dislike it. after a couple steepings this morning to see if later steeps changed enough for me, i can say that this DOES have a sweet potatoe like flavour to it…there’s a mineral note in here that is what i’m not agreeing with. it’s sweet and just slightly malty. over all a decent cup….makes me want to try more teas from this company. thanks joon!
Working from home this morning because i haven’t been able to sleep well since we got back from vacation. So i’m exausted. The plus to that, is that since my other half is working nights this week, we’ll have a bit of time together to start putting the house back together lol my mother will be up in a week? and our spare bedroom currently has all our office things in it.
the other upside so this, is that my other half got up early to make banana bread, so it would be warm from the oven first thing in the morning. So a slice of that and a cup of this, and i was off to a great start this morning. Still meh about this tea, so the last of it is off to cavo so that she can give this one a try.
This is another tea that MIssB sent to the group – only about 6? more to go for me to try so that i can bundle the packages up. I would love this a lot more if it didn’t have licorice in it. I don’t actually mind licorice, but ever now and then i can’t take the sweetness that it add to things. the ginger is nice and i enjoy the lemon. with a little honey this is better, as it takes the edge off the licorice sweetness that i am not digging. thanks again MissB!

Another tea from today…this + cacao made for a delicious treat as outside of work went from sunny to completely white and back again in a manner of 15 mins haha While i enjoy this tea, i prefer the regular version, though i had picked this one up to get me through not having the regular version haha
you know….i bought this tea after i received a sample from dexter (at least i’m pretty sure it was dex)..which means i enjoyed it. And for whatever reason, it’s never the tea i reach for, but then when i DO have it, i’m always almost surprised by how much i enjoy it lol. Go figure. but i do really enjoy this and i am quite happy to have been having it. I’m just not sure i should restock it, if it’s never something i seem to reach for lol
This one was sent my way by MissB who is off galavanting across the world, in a trip of epic proportions that i am totally jealous of. Her way of smoothing things over is to send back random tea for myself and the rest of us to share. :) So i’m gradually trying to go through the teas she’s sending so i can divy them up and get them sent out to the rest of the group of folks who are sharing the teas with me. I generally find raspberry to be fairly artificial in most teas…or have a taste that i just don’t like. even stacy’s raspberry tea was NOT my favourite.
this tea, straight is very much a raspberry tea, with the hint of chocolate mousse coming through at the end. The dry leaf reminds me of MF’s mousse au chocolat just a little. However, when i added just a touch of sugar to this, the rasberries really POPPED and the chocolate came out of hiding to create a delicious cup of chocolate raspberry tea. It was the perfect cup of tea last night. (also there are giant real dried raspberries in this..so yay! for that!)
