Thanks Teavivre for this sample!
This is not something I would have picked for myself, but gosh, I love this one. I love the sweetness paired with the roasted flavors. It matches really well with toast. :3 I think that this one is great to have with lunch and I really enjoy its uniqueness.

sigh So I totally burned my lunch (a grilled cheese sandwich). So back to tea then! I haven’t mentioned this, but my tea shelves are a mess. A total black hole of piles of assorted bags, near empty jars, and just not fun to look at. Maybe that’s why I have been drinking less tea lately. But this is the very last of this tea! I got this in a contest, and like I’ve mentioned, it may have not been stored in the best way possible. So although it smells quite nice, the flavor really isn’t there.
There are lots of buttery notes in this one and it is the predominate flavor in this cuppa. Besides that I get lots of sweet, green tea flavor which is really good. Other than that I don’t have a lot to say about this one and I don’t think that it is fair for me to rate the tea off of the sample I was given.

gmathis

I have a black hole basket like that myself…but isn’t it fun when you reach in and pull out something you haven’t seen for a while? Kind of like an unexpected birthday.

Tamm

Oh totally agreed! I found the last, sad little bit of one of my favorite teas (it’s discontinued); so finding that was a joy! I think that I’m going to try and finish off quite a few teas in the coming weeks so I can have it a bit more organized.

Thank to Teavivre for this very generous sample!
I feel crummy today and I still have almost 2hrs. before I have to start my homework so I thought I’d relax with some nice, pure tea. I’ve been in quite the flavored tea stint so all this plain tea tasting has brought me back to what I really love to enjoy.
Dry, this tea smells almost similar to a Bai Mu Dan; especially the light hay notes. There is also an almost nutty smell coming through. I’m not sure how much to add to my tiny cup, so I’m just eyeballing it as covering the bottom. I’ve only had one other Dragon Well and to be honest, I hated it. It smelled and tasted swampy.
Wow! Even though I only steeped this for 2min. the smell is very strong. There are lots of pea notes in the front of this brew. It is very crisp and I’m really loving the nutty notes. This particular steep is reminding me a lot of sencha. There is almost a milky-ness to this tea, as I saw other reviews state. Compared to my last run in with Dragon Well this is amazing! This is easily one of my favorite greens and I would really recommend it for anyone new to green teas.

What a wonderful tea! I forgot that this little beauty was hiding out in the back corner of my cupboard. After a long day of shopping and eating, I’ve been left feeling really dizzy. I think that this is the one thing keeping my mood up! It is very sweet, milky, and I love watching the leaves unfurl. I do prefer the un-flavored version more, but this is still a very amazing and flavorful tea with lots of great floral and green notes as well. Highly recommended.

So this tea has been lingering in my cupboard. I think that as the days grow cooler I’m looking for spice and heaviness that can’t be found in lighter blends like this one. I have so much of this one left and I’m not surprised as the dry smell is very overpowering; in a more chemical than natural way. When brewed this takes on some more delicate qualities and I like it a lot more than other apple-esque teas that I’ve tried. I’m lowering the score just a bit because, to be honest, I think that had I tried a sample I would’ve skipped this one completely.
Notes of carrot and crisp apple.

I want to try this one just because of the name, but the flavor combo just doesn’t seem to fit for me.

Tamm

I would totally trade/send this one out if you wanted it. I am very busy, so it would take a bit, but if you’d like to try it I really have not been drinking this one.

So I have been super busy recently with college and I’m just dropping by to say hello and log this tea! :3
When I saw this item in stock on the site I was pretty interested; but I had no idea that the quality would be so good on the item. The tin that this is presented in is really lovely. The inside of the lid has constellations on it and the whole this is actually quite large. I won’t be able to fit it in my tea cupboard due to how full it is atm. The tea itself is just beautiful as well. There are the cornflowers, lemongrass, chamomile, and lots of tea floating around in there. You have to mix it around quite a bit as the rooibos, which makes up the largest section of the mix, tends to settle at the bottom of the tin.
Flavor wise it almost reminded me of a toned down roobios lemon cloud (which I really did not enjoy). They obviously reigned in the woodsy flavor by adding a lot of other flavors to the mix. So there is a slight herbal, lemon, and very light grapefruit flavor to this. It is a pretty great tea for the price and certainly comes well presented; which I greatly appreciate and enjoy. If anyone was on the fence about ordering one of these tins I’d suggest to do it just because of the value. Some of the weights vary, but this was 4oz+a tin for only $9 and that’s a steal compared to other big companies (cough Teavana cough).
edit :3 So in case anyone wanted to really see the inside of the tin and the tea I’ve added a picture on my blog:

I’d never seen the zodiac teas at adagio. They look so neat!

Tamm

Yeah! I didn’t know until recently and I found them while randomly searching one day. I don’t really have the space/money to buy the set, but they offer all of them $18 off if you order all 12.

Lots of berry, toasted notes today with small amounts of chocolate. I’m still getting Christmas jelly sticks! I used just a bit more leaf today and all that did was add to the tartness. I don’t really think that’s helpful.
I don’t know who all has tried this, but the Teavana receipts say now that if you sign up for emails you get a $10 coupon, but I signed up at least a week ago and I haven’t seen anything like that. Any info floating around about that?

Daniel Scott

Haha, before I was hired I signed up with another email. (I was signed up for Teaopia emails already, so I got automatically switched over.) I figured that since I got switched over and was technically already “on” the email list, I just hadn’t gotten it. So…separate email, right? Never received anything.

I honestly am not sure how that 10 dollar thing is SUPPOSED to work. What I would just do is find the FIRST email you got from Teavana in your inbox, print it off and bring it in and explain that you signed up for the emails to get the coupon and don’t seem to have received a coupon. Hopefully they’ll honor it? I had a woman do that, she handed me the whole email to prove she’d signed up, LOL. The $10 off thing is on our quick scan sheets in Canada; I’m assuming it’s the same in the States, so no one should need a coupon bar code or whatever from you. I’d ask about it with a manager before you even start getting them to scoop tea, though.

Bear in mind that it’s off a $30+ purchase.

I tried it once when I was in the US and nothing happened… Let me know if it works for you! :)

So I never said I was a sane person.
So I decided to mix Adagio’s Sylvari’s Awakening blend with Teavana’s White Ayurvedic Chai. I’ve said before that the Sylvari’s Awakening had to much chai, but I just wanted to see how these would go together. I used 1 and 1/2 tsp of the Sylvari’s Awakening and 1 tsp of the White Chai. I steeped this higher and longer than Teavana suggests for the white tea, but I’ve had no problems with doing so with the chai/chai blend.
This smells like some kind of faintly wassil type Christmas treat. I wish I had something orange to add to this as I think it would compliment it well. There are citrus notes in the Sylvari’s Awakening, but it’s too faint in this. Mmm, this is pretty damn tasty together! I think that I’ll use most of my stock of the Teavana tea to drink this way because alone it is a bit too Big Red gum-like to me.

This. tea. Is so good. I oversteeped this last night and it was still amazing. I’ve had this tea for less than a week and it is already mostly gone. I take that as a true testament to how awesome it is. Lots of chocolate, caramel, and sweetness in this cuppa. Amazing tea and a must have for dessert tea enthusiasts.

Ellyn

Did you get any…odd aftertaste? I really WANT TO like it but I can’t figure out what is at the end of the sip. It is a flavor? A mouthfeel? I am not sure…

Tamm

I had a little anise/licorice aftertaste in my first cup, but not since then. The other day my strainer was ghosting a bit, but nothing other than that! My throat feels a little gunky after this cup today, but it may be because I’m drinking it while it’s still super hot.

drank Pumpkin Cheesecake by 52teas

I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the start of October than drinking a nice big cuppa pumpkin cheesecake! I love the fall so much. I love that the mountains surrounding our house are all turning such wonderful shades, the air is getting crisp at night, and we had that full moon that was amazing! I am planning on visiting Gap later today to pick up a green cardigan I’ve been having my eye on. I’m hoping they have one small enough in stock as it’s a men’s item. I can’t wait to wear stuff like that at school again as it is the most comfy.
This tea has been a bit up and down to me. It doesn’t really taste like pumpkin to me, but rather pumpkin spices. I love that though so not too many complaints! I’m surprised I still have so much of this left as I think I’ve had it for some time now. I love the spiciness without having to burn my tongue off or knock me off my chair. This tea is great for fun and reminds me of Thanksgivings past.
