256 Tasting Notes
Backlogging for yesterday. Can’t wait for my new matchas to arrive so I have something to compare this one to.

Backlogging this one for Saturday. This is one of those teas that smells nicer than it tastes. It’s not that it tastes bad; it’s just a bit of a let-down after the amazing smell it gives off while steeping. It’s a light-tasting oolong, and the first infusion was pretty good, but the second was too floral for my taste. I might try a shorter first infusion next time to try to make the second one closer in taste to the first.

Trying to stay warm in my office where something has gone terribly wrong with the heating.
Morning wake-up call.
Drank this twice today.

Two cups at work again today. I’ve been banned from using my electric heater because I blew the breaker today, so all I’ve got is tea (and my coat) to keep me warm. Maybe one day they’ll get the heating sorted out in that building. :P
I had two cups of this at work today. So yum. :)
Backlogging for the conference I attended last week. They had a sampler box of most of the Tazo teas, and I tried a few of them. I remember when I first started drinking tea, I liked this one. This time it tastes a bit bland, almost like the tea was a bit old. It wasn’t awful, but I think loose leaf tea from places that keep their stock fresh has ruined me for most conventional bagged teas.
Backlogging for the conference I attended last week. They had a sampler box of most of the Tazo teas, and I tried a few of them. This is a decent bagged chai. It was a nice pick-me-up in the afternoon.
Backlogging for the conference I attended last week. This was the other Farmer Brothers tea I tried at my hotel’s breakfast bar, and it was truly the worst green tea I’ve ever had. Yuck. :P
Backlogging for the conference I attended last week. They had a sampler box of most of the Tazo teas, and I tried a few of them. This one wasn’t so bad for a bagged tea. It was definitely better than the awful stuff my hotel had at the breakfast bar. Still, it tasted pretty much like bagged tea. Nothing spectacular.
Backlogging this one from when I was at a conference last week. They had a box of most of the Tazo teas, so I tried a few of them. This one was okay, but not fantastic. It probably would have been better if I hadn’t left the tea bag in for forever. Fruity isn’t really my thing anyway, though.

This matcha is definitely growing on me. I increased the rating a bit. :)
Not great. Unfortunately, this is the only brand of tea they have at the breakfast bar at the hotel I’m staying at.
Ugh, this was a bad tea experience because I steeped it for waaaaay too long. I was running late at the airport and ended up steeping it all the way from Starbucks to my seat on the plane. Bitter is an understatement. I’d like to try this tea properly in the future!
Strange thing about this matcha is that I make it with two chashaku scoops, but I don’t get a caffeine buzz (which is good)—just a little lift. I wonder if it will be like that for me with all matchas. I’ve heard about people bouncing off the walls while learning the Japanese tea ceremony, but I think they make it stronger than two scoops for that. I find it odd because I’m very sensitive to caffeine. Thoughts?
Steeped a little too long, but it was just the wake-up call I needed this morning.
