2485 Tasting Notes

Welcome to Sipdown Central
This was a sample sent from Nina’s.
I used to drink alot of Moroccan Mint over ice, especially during gigs. It’s very refreshing!
Today I chose to drink this hot. I had the first cup plain, then I tosses a few fragrant Rose Buds (Frontier) into the pot, ala My Friend Rashad’s comments, & that was tasty too. It very much reminded me of an herbal tea from back in my Hippy Days, “Nuclear Casual Tea”.
I’m not always a fan of mint in my tea, although I enjoy it in my salads.
Thanks to Laurent for this sample.
This is a Sipdown, bringing me back down to 300 teas!

Big Sipdown!!
Leif & I combined the last of Sakura Allure (Teavana), Apricot Green (Adagio), & Peach Zinger (Teaves) into an iced blend.
The resulting tea is tart & tangy, & in all honesty, a little acidic for me, but Leif likes it. Thanks again Michelle.
I’m now at 301 teas, BTW.
What to sipdown next?

JustJames

were you a m.a.s.h. fan too? love the new avi pic btw. yeah, i’ve been chucking things together in iced teas too. you could always send alan alda your recipe =0)

Terri HarpLady

Are you kidding James? I grew up on Mash! LOL!

Also not really my cup of tea, but I’m grateful to Michelle for the opportunity to give it a try.

Another sample from Michelle, made in a 4 oz cup & shared with Leif.
Not really something I care for, but worth the try.
Thanks Michelle!

WOW! This is extremely fruity & tart, making me squint my eyes when I sipped it! I made a series of 4oz samples, a tea flight of sorts, & this is the first of them. Leif says, “Jello shot?”

:) Thanks Michelle

I’m enjoying a bit of a day off, for the most part. Originally I was suppose to have students at 9:30 & noon, & meet someone at 2:00. So far the 9:30 & 2:00 have cancelled. Hopefully the noon will show up! People tend to forget things around holidaze, so we’ll see.

Months ago I did a nice little trade with Michelle, & today I’m working on sipping down some of those teas. This one is not a sipdown, as I have enough to drink it probably one more time.

This is a gentle cup of milky rice pudding, probably made with jasmine rice, as it has a hint of floral to it. The floral is not jasmine, but that’s ok, don’t ruin my fantasy. :)

Thanks Michelle!

Sil Sample Sipdown
I’ve been hanging on to the last bit of this for awhile, & today was the day. This is my after breakfast tea, kind of a morning dessert, if you will, & I’m enjoying it, to be sure.

The dry leaf is lovely, with little flowers & kind of a purple-red cast to the leaf. Steeped, it is a nice fruity tasting blend. I’ve never drank Merlot, so I have no idea what it tastes like, but this makes for a tasty cup.

This is the first tea I’ve tried from Vintage TeaWorks, & if it is representative of their other teas, I hope to give them a try someday too. Thanks Sil :)

TeaEqualsBliss

Oh how I love this one! The others are GRAND as well!

Terri HarpLady

Good to know, T=B :)

Sil

YAY! glad you liked it. my ONLY problem with the teaworks was the large sizes when i haven’t tried them before. heh

Terri HarpLady

What, no sample sizes?

Sil

nopers…they package them in tubes like wine bottles – 3oz+ for the tea heh

Each time I drink this tea, I find it a little more interesting.
Fruity & Floral, with a sort of muskiness to it that I can’t quite describe. This was my first cup of the day.

Drew made a pot of this to go with his breakfast this morning, & I pilfered a cup from him. The main flavor is coconut, with hints of vanilla, maybe a little apple, & I’d like it better if the black base was stronger.

I discovered today that this is even more awesome sweetened with a little Maple Syrup!!

Profile

Bio

I’m so excited to have found this community! I’m a self-employed Harpist (acoustic & electric – Originals, Classical, Rock, Jazz, etc) & Singer/Songwriter. My days & nights revolve around teaching at home, playing gigs, gardening,& fixing awesome food to eat. My schedule is different everyday, but I just go with the flow, & I sip a lot of tea!

My love of Tea began with Herbals back in the 70’s. One of my favorites was a licorice blend from House of Hezekiah, an old tea shop in Kansas City. There was also a tea with mint, rose petals, chamomile, etc called Nuclear Casual Tea.
In the 80’s I gave up caffeine, chocolate, alcohol, (& a few illicit substances…), and brewed medicinal blends & tinctures to support 4 pregnancies (all children born at home). In the 90’s my love affair with green teas began when I discovered ‘The Republic of Tea’. Their beautiful teas & packaging inspired my original song, “TeaMind”, from my CD “Zen Breakfast”. If you’d like to hear the song for free, drop by my website.

In general, I drink my teas straight, but occasionally I add a pinch of Stevia & maybe some coconut or almond milk (I’m allergic to dairy, gluten, & various other things & avoid most sweets.)

I’ve explored a variety of teas:
Whites tend to be a little bland…sorry
Oolongs – wonderfully sensual
Roobios – I’m not a fan in general
Puehr – a fairly new direction for me
I’m not a huge fan of flavored teas, but I do make exceptions, & I’ll try just about anything once.

And Black Tea, Oh how I love thee!!
I am on a quest for the most wonderful breakfast cup! I will find you, my Love!
