1tsp of English Caramel at the Tea Haus
1tsp of Courtlodge from the Metropolitan Tea Company

The last bit of my courtlodge was combined with English Caramel, and steeped for 3 mins.

I found that the caramel flavour was still there and nice and strong. I didn’t lose any flavour really from the courtlodge. If anything, the courtlodge just seemed to enhance the malty, basic black tea flavour that I get from black teas.

I love the English Caramel, but I’m finding that I’ve definitely hit my limit with this tea. It’s really good, but I think I’m done with this one. I may give what I have left away to a friend. I don’t know if I’ll finish it or not…

Sipdown! (or at least pretty close to it)

I had my last little bit on its own yesterday. Funny story, I made this one, then when I went to add my milk and sugar, I found out I was out of milk! Booo! So, I went to Tim’s to get a cinnamon roll and I got a couple of the little milk thingys. They didn’t even charge me for it! So sweet!
Anyway, three mins is far too long for this tea. I needed to do more of a 2.5mins or so. It was too strong yesterday.

I’m not sure I’ll miss this one now that it’s out.

drank Rhubarb Cream by The Tea Haus

Had this one this morning, so doing this by memory.
I was surprised by it, but not in a good way. I feel like I really didn’t get as much of the flavours as I had hoped to have. It wasn’t great…

But also, I may have been distracted as I was officially starting my new job today. It’s fantastic! So that might have been a bit of why I don’t remember much about this tea.

Never judge a tea by first steep!

Decided to give this one another go. I didn’t care for it the first time, but now I like it!

I steeped it for 4 mins, but I think I could get away with either 3 or 3:30 minutes for the flavours to be really nice and not bitter. I was really surprised about this tea this time around. I added milk and sugar and it’s really made a nice creamy, berry-flavoured tea. It’s quite nice. I like it a lot this time around.

I think I’m starting to like the fruity black teas all of a sudden, when for the longest time I didn’t like them at all. It’s amazing how things can change in no time at all.

This is it.
I’m officially working my last shift at my current job.
I have another job lined up to start technically next week (I’m doing some training tomorrow).

And so, my thought was, why not finish with a zing! This tea is the pick me up I needed this morning ‘cause I didn’t sleep well last night, plus, it lets me start this day on a real kick!

I gotta find out if you can buy this saigon cinnamon on its own. I’d love to try it in some of my baking! I bet it would be amazing!

And as I finish off this day, I will raise a glass and thank God for the new adventure that he has given to me in this new job.
I can’t wait to get started!

Finally trying this one!

The mango is definitely the most predominant flavour in this tea. It’s pretty juicy tasting. The black tea part wasn’t too much as I had mostly fruit it seemed in my bag. But I’m find with that. I didn’t want the black tea to be too overpowering.

I quite enjoyed this one. It’s similar to another one I have, but this is nice ‘cause it has the actual fruit that the other one doesn’t have. This would make an amazing iced tea I think. If I end up with more of it, I might just try that. Otherwise, I think I’ll just finish this one hot as I only have enough for one more cup.

Boiling 4 min, 0 sec

So, I’m not much a blueberry person either. So me picking this one up is quite surprising. The one sales associate highly suggested it… plus I just remembered trying this tea in an iced chai once and it was good.

This one has a very strong blueberry smell. It’s quite surprising actually. I wasn’t expecting that at all. But it is. It filled the kitchen.

I added milk and a tiny bit of sugar ‘cause I was sort of looking to get a blueberry pie with icecream taste. I didn’t quite get that. It lives up to its name: blueberry jam. If I had used like a 2% milk I could see it being more of the ice creamy taste, but I don’t have that here.

I steeped for about 4.5mins and I’m getting the tiniest bit of bitterness from it. I think this one would be better at 4mins or slightly shorter even. The flavour is very blueberry flavoured. It’s actually really good. Maybe I like blueberries more than I thought? I’m not too sure if I’d get this one again, but I’m really glad that I got to try it.

One of my first thoughts upon trying this one too would be to add it to the strawberry shortcake tea, which is a tea that I’m really loving right now.

I’m not a big green tea drinker, and even less of a straight green tea drinker. But I’ve had this one much too long… almost a year and a half, so it’s time I drink it. It came in a pack that I haven’t drank through yet.

Anyway, this tea is light, but I’m finding it to be very vegetal. I’m definitely one for flavoured green teas rather than plain ones. I’m not hating this one, but it’s not something I’d get again. It’s just a personal preference.

drank Hazelnut Cream by The Tea Haus

Sipdown!

I didn’t have the last bit on its own like I figured I would. I decided to mix it again.
This time I mixed it with s’mores. Again, it’s not too bad. I don’t mind it.

Hazelnut cream is a really good mixing tea I found. I was nervous to try it on its own. I know it would have been good, but I really just thought I’d stick with the mixing.

Personally, I don’t think I’d get this one again, but I could see why others would love it.

I know that this is the fourth time I’ll be logging this, and normally I don’t log a tea this much, but I have to today. I need some steepster time…

I’m feeling so defeated today. I’ve woken up with a migraine again today… thankfully today I didn’t wake up at 3:30am like I did yesterday. But I’m just so tired and feeling so drained from it. The advil is only barely keeping me sane. I know today it’s the weather that’s doing it to me. I wish I could be at home sleeping. I think a tall glass of cold water and a few more hours of sleep would fix this at least partially…

Anyway, this was my tea choice today as I’m just needing a plain comfort tea. I need somehting that’s going to wrap me up in a large warm hug and just hold me tight for a bit. If I were at home, I’d be asking my hunny to do that. Just to hold me until my head pain subsided but since I can’t, tea will have to try to do it for me. And so far, so good. It’s giving me a moment of solitude in the midst of work today.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a good day, otherwise I might cancel my plans with my mom and just stay in bed… lol

Aw hope you feel better soon

Thanks :) I think the migraine has left me. I just hope it stays that way :)

I’m a 30-something-year-old writer. I finished my first novel last year, which I’m editing this year amongst the world’s craziness and hoping to some day get it published. I’ve also written several short stories that I’m looking to get published someday

I work as a paginator (I do page layout for our local weekly newspaper) and absolutely love it! I’m also an amateur photographer.
I’m the proud mommy of two sweet little boys.
I’m married to an absolute amazing man who “puts up” with my tea obsession.

I became obsessed with tea a few years after high school.I started with Orange Pekoe double double (milk not cream), and peppermint. Since that time, I’ve really opened up to other kinds of tea and I’ve well… I’ve kind of just went nuts since then.

I’m a loose leaf fan, but if there are no other options, I will drink bagged.

I would have to say my favourite kinds of tea are (in no particular order): black, puerh cakes, herbal and matcha.

Green teas still aren’t a favourite for me, but I’m working on it.

I still can’t get myself to like mate teas, as much as I try, I just don’t like their flavour.

I drink tea every single day. I absolutely love it. I can’t image my life without it.

I don’t log every time I drink a tea as I don’t want to spam everyone with tons of duplicate loggings, but I will log when I have a new tea, which happens on a regular basis and when I do a SIPDOWN! :D
