Another tea mixture this morning!

1 tsp of Hazelnut cream
1 tsp of English caramel both by the Tea Haus

I find that the english caramel is definitely the more powerful flavour in this mix. I didn’t notice the hazelnut really at all. I was hoping it would be a bit stronger as I was sorta looking for a nutty flavour, but it didn’t really come through.

Have you ever had a tea that you loved and drank so much of it that you’re sick of it? I’m getting that way with the English Caramel. I bought like 200 or 250g and I’m actually finding that I’ve hit my limit with this tea. I’ve had other teas that I can drink like 700g of before and never been feeling that way, but this time… I dunno… maybe I should try something different…? I’ll play around and see what I can do with it.

drank Maple Tea by Canada True

I had this one today, but I know that I let it steep far too long. I found it to be a bit too strong for me. I think I’ll have to watch my steep time next time. I didn’t notice the maple flavour too much… but again, I think that’s because I let it stay for far too long.

I’ll rate it when I try again.

Wow, this tea is… thick? That’s what I was thinking anyway.

I steeped it up and it was quite dark. I was surprised by it honestly. I didn’t expect it to look so dark and basically thick. So, I added a bunch of skim milk… yep a bunch. It needed more than I usually use. Normally I just add a little bit to change the colour mostly. But today, I needed more.

I got the chocolate/mint part no problem. I didn’t notice the vanilla too much tho, unless that just was to add the smoothness to the tea…?

Anyway, it’s a good tea. I think I would maybe get this one again? Actually… I dunno. I really like the Read My Lips. I would probably stick with that one as I like the black tea base a bit more. This is a great option for those looking to stay away from the caffeine but still have a chocolate/mint tea.

ohfancythat

Have you tried any of the Della Terra chocolate mint teas??

Fjellrev

Yeah, if you like Read My Lips, check out Della Terra. :)

TheKesser

I haven’t yet. I’ve been wanting to try Della Terra for a bit now, but still haven’t ordered anything from them.

ohfancythat

RML was my favorite chocolate mint tea until I discovered Della Terra’s!!

Another new tea! Dad picked it up for me yesterday.

I’m kind of confused by this one at the moment. I may have to try it again before I fully rate it. I feel this one is very much like Saigon Chai. I don’t really get anything different from this one… I dunno. I’m going to have to try it again…

drank Citron Oolong by DAVIDsTEA

For some reason this morning I woke up thinking, “I want to try something I haven’t tried yet.” Most of the time I just want my normal favourites in the morning and I don’t even think about trying something new until afternoon if I’m lucky. haha
This one tho, jumped out at me for some unknown reason. Maybe it’s ’cause I was looking at this sample last night right before bed.

So this tea is quite delicious. I don’t get much oolong flavour to it though. I think my sample had mostly just the lemon and the jasmine flowers which, btw, I didn’t realize was even in this tea! I was surprised when I looked at the ingredients to figure out what that extra flavour was and found it to be jasmine. But, the combo is quite nice and refreshing! I could see this making an exceptional iced tea. If I had more of this one I definitely would try it. Maybe I’ll resteep my leaves and see if I can get a good steep out of it to chill.

I have a tiny bit extra that I think I’m going to combine with some of my coconut oolong and see what the coconut and lemon taste like together. They might be quite nice!

Checkmate, oh checkmate. My long forgotten friend. I have only a small bit of you left, as I forgot you were even in my cupboard still.

I think I may have used a bit too warm of water this morning on your sweet, delicious leaves, but you still taste so yummy.

Oh dear checkmate… I’m almost out of you… I don’t know if I should stock up now or later, but dear sweet checkmate, I won’t forget to get more of you soon. You will not be forgotten, dear friend. I promise you that.

I feel very confused by this tea.
Last time I had it, I had added a tiny bit of sugar, but even that was too much for this tea. It made it almost undrinkably sweet. It wasn’t right. So, today, I’m trying it straight up.

I’m finding this one to be confused. I almost feel like it’s having an identity crisis. This tea knows it should be chai flavoured and it’s trying, but at the same time, I feel it’s trying to be something mellower and softer than what it is. It’s trying to be fruity too, but it’s not quite succeeding.
The cinnamon is the strongest flavour in the tea for sure. It’s really all I can taste. I think I can taste the caradmon too. I thought it was nutmeg for a moment there. It’s almost got a cinnamon/nutmeg taste like the cookies I make, but it doesn’t quite work for me for this tea. I might have to try it with milk or try it as a latte.

Straight up I leave feeling sad… haha It’s such a sweet tea… it’s too much…

drank Coconut Oolong by DAVIDsTEA

STOP THE PRESSES!
Hold the phone!

I found an Oolong I like!!!!

I was trying to find an oolong that I liked, but have never found one. I’ve tried the Milk Oolong and the Carrot Cake one from Davidstea, but didn’t care for either of them. I actually gave up trying to find one I liked for a while. I figured I would go my life without finding one that made me smile… but, when I heard about a coconut oolong from Davidstea, I thought I might as well give it a try. I LOVE coconut. I think it’s just one of the most delicious and soothing tastes ever. I think it’s so lovely and should be added to everything. haha

Anyway, this tea is delightful! It is smooth and tasty. I like the smoothness of the coconut and I like how it is the main flavour I get. I can tell that the oolong is in there, but it’s not in a way that I find it too crazy overpowering. I will have to buy a tin of this at some point. It’s too delicious not to.

Delish!!

drank Forever Nuts by DAVIDsTEA

Sip down! I forgot how great this one is! I always use it to mix with other teas, but I decided that I should have the final tea by itself. I should have made it a bit stronger as the flavours seem to be fading from my stash, but otherwise it is delicious!

I may get this again, but I’m going to wait a bit before I do. There’s no hurry for this one to be restocked as I have so many to still drink.

One more note on this one. This one is good when a migraine is plaguing you and you can barely function. Nothing too crazy going on in this tea and it makes it perfect while I try to calm my head and stomach.

I’m a 30-something-year-old writer. I finished my first novel last year, which I’m editing this year amongst the world’s craziness and hoping to some day get it published. I’ve also written several short stories that I’m looking to get published someday

I work as a paginator (I do page layout for our local weekly newspaper) and absolutely love it! I’m also an amateur photographer.
I’m the proud mommy of two sweet little boys.
I’m married to an absolute amazing man who “puts up” with my tea obsession.

I became obsessed with tea a few years after high school.I started with Orange Pekoe double double (milk not cream), and peppermint. Since that time, I’ve really opened up to other kinds of tea and I’ve well… I’ve kind of just went nuts since then.

I’m a loose leaf fan, but if there are no other options, I will drink bagged.

I would have to say my favourite kinds of tea are (in no particular order): black, puerh cakes, herbal and matcha.

Green teas still aren’t a favourite for me, but I’m working on it.

I still can’t get myself to like mate teas, as much as I try, I just don’t like their flavour.

I drink tea every single day. I absolutely love it. I can’t image my life without it.

I don’t log every time I drink a tea as I don’t want to spam everyone with tons of duplicate loggings, but I will log when I have a new tea, which happens on a regular basis and when I do a SIPDOWN! :D
