drank Jasmine Pearls by TeaFrog

The package said to add 4 to 6 balls for a cup! That seemed too small of an amount to me so I added 8 or 9. It brewed up pretty mild. This is my very first Jasmine Pearls ever. I’ve had lots of Jasmine Green but never Jasmine Pearls. I liked the Jasmine scent and flavour. It wasn’t too overpowering (I used to LOVE overpowering Jasmine teas) and definitely not too mild (can’t stand those). Somewhere in between. It wasn’t an exceptional tea but it was good. I’m looking forward to trying the Jasmine Pearls from Tealux next to see if there really is a difference.

Very lemony and not too sharp or bitter. The aroma reminds me of citronella. As well as being a delicious non-caffeine tea it just might keep away the mosquitos in the summer.

LOL re the mosquitos. (Did you mean to rate it 42 if you’re recommending it?) ;-)

Ubacat

Lol. Actually I meant to give it a much higher rating but I’m on the iPad and couldn’t get the rating slider to work right. It IS good .

Ubacat

There! Finally got the rating right.

Got my sample yesterday! Thanks Geoff and Max at Temple Road. I was sold on my first cup. I could pick up the smoke aroma and flavour along with malt . In the background was a bit of the milky flavour that is typical of the milk oolongs. I only got one infusion from that cup but today being Saturday I have brewed another. Second infusion the milky flavour becomes less and more of the smoke malt flavour comes through. I am now on my 3rd infusion and I thought I would try something different. Forgive me Geoff and Max but I couldn’t resist. I added some fresh cut up strawberries to the 3rd infusion and I love it. This infusion has given me a very light tasting oolong (it started out very rich and strong) with a light strawberry flavour. I had to purchase this tea because after tasting I just can’t be without it! The shipping is very good coming all the way from Taiwan to Canada.

I really don’t enjoy black teas but I tried this early this morning. It is a robust black tea with smokey, molasses tastes. It didn’t have the bitter after taste that some black teas do and I could tell this one was of good quality but it’s just not for me.

drank White Earl Grey Cream by Tealux

Another tea which had no tasting note from me yet I’ve purchased MORE from Tealux. I’m having a cup this morning. Earl Grey to me is like a comfortable old robe. This tea is a nice white (not too mild) with a balanced Earl Grey cream flavour. One of my old favourites.

I never left a tasting note on this because it’s been an old favourite since Tetley brought it out. It has a wonderful floral aroma with blueberries and the taste is just as great. Extra bonus is it’s a bagged tea so I can take it anywhere. WHen I steep it I can oversteep , leave the bag in forever and it’s still great.

Boiling 5 min, 30 sec

Bio

Green teas are my favourite teas but I also enjoy: white, some herbal, rooibos, raw pu’erh, light oolongs, a little bit of black , and a little bit of ripe pu’erh. I have moved away from artificial flavourings and there’s hardly anything left in my cabinet with artificial flavouring or colours. It is mostly straight teas or tea blends.
