This is the best green tea I have in my collection right now. I am almost half way through it and loving it so much. I know that to hoard a tea like this is no good. It is best fresh and it would be a sin to let this tea get old. I will be sad when it’s gone. Hope Grand Tea keeps it stocked.

I reviewed this tea 2 years ago and still had some left of it. Brewed it up this morning and it’s still not bad. I am really surprised. Most green teas lose their flavour after 1 year. However, I really have to stop buying so many teas that I can’t drink them all up in time. I resolve to drink down my stash for the next few months.

Still leaving my orginal rating from 2 years ago but of course it’s not really that fantastic after being aged that long.

Trying to drink down my samples lately. Tried this one today. I didn’t do that many infusions but what I had was okay. There wasn’t much bitterness. It had a creamy mouth feel to it. Not much fruitiness/apricot which I like in my shengs. This is not one I would go and buy. Even though it was a decent cup of tea , it just wasn’t the best.

I’ve been trying to drink down some small samples I have of tea today. So far, I feel I have not had a great cup of tea today but nothing really bad either.

This one was very spicy and fruity when I opened the bag. It’s got notes of nutmeg, clove, and maybe cardamom? There’s also good citrus notes from the orange. The tea base of black tea is very mild (which is okay with me – not being a black tea lover). This is definitely a good tea for a cold autumn day. Instead it is a cool summer day today but I am still enjoying the tea.

I only had a tiny sample of this left. The package was open so it looks like I had at least one tea from it before but never left a review. So I brewed it up and took a sip. Yuk! It’s like a smoky campfire. Sharp and smoky. I threw it out and went to reach for my favourite non-smoked Lapsang souchong.

Flavors: Campfire, Smoke

It has taken me ages to get around to trying this tea. Based on some of the reviews I figured it would not be a tea I like. That would be an understatement. This tea tastes like an old wet rotting wood log. A bit mushroomy too. And yet… here I am still sipping this tea as I write this. Why haven’t I thrown it away? Hmmmm

This Rose bud tea is a great herbal alternative for the evening. I love floral teas and this one is elegant rose with a sweet finish. It’s pretty pricey for a herbal tea and compared to other companies that have rose bud tea. I’d like to try out rose bud tea from some other companies too but this one is really good.

I remember having bi luo chun for the first time. I had a very fresh quality tea and I just loved it. After that any bi luo chun I bought just didn’t seem to meet those same expectations. Was it because it just becomes common to the taste buds? Or maybe I was buying lower quality bi luo chun? I can’t say but it’s not like any of those bi luo chuns were bad. They were all good. Just not amazing. It’s been almost 2 years since I’ve had a bi luo chun I can rave about. Well I can now.

This tea came vacuum sealed and when I opened it the fresh fragrance of the tea was heavenly! I just knew this was going to be a great cup. Brewed up it’s sweet, chestnutty, grean bean with an aroma I can’t quite pin down. It reminds me a bit of osmanthus.

Was this tea just amazing because it was vacuum sealed? I think that might play a part in it too but it was amazing! I’m so glad I got my Taiwan Tea Crafts order just on the last day before the Canadian postal workers were locked out. Can you imagine this amazing tea sitting in some hot warehouse for weeks on end in the summer???? I still didn’t get my small order from Grand Tea and they have amazing tea too. Hope that one survives the strike in good shape.

Bio

Green teas are my favourite teas but I also enjoy: white, some herbal, rooibos, raw pu’erh, light oolongs, a little bit of black , and a little bit of ripe pu’erh. I have moved away from artificial flavourings and there’s hardly anything left in my cabinet with artificial flavouring or colours. It is mostly straight teas or tea blends.
