21 Tasting Notes

Pear Au Chocolat from Capital Teas
75

I bought this for a friend. Had a cup before giving it to her. I think it’s a very nice subtle tea. The fragrance is wonderful. The tea itself has a more floral taste with a bit of fruit and end on a chocolate note. The chocolate is not overwhelming it really warms the flavor of the tea. I like it and might buy it to add to my chocolate tea collection.

Red Velvet Chocolate from The Republic of Tea
68

It’s a nice tea but I just love red velvet so much that my expectations were really high. I agree with some one else who said maybe if there was a cream cheese frosting creamer it would really taste like red velvet. It tastes more chocolate than anything. The color steep a really nice red. It’s enjoyable but each time the smell does not match what I think it will taste like.

Vanilla Almond from The Republic of Tea
44

I want to love this tea as it has two of my most favorite things almond and vanilla. It smells great in the tin, it smells great brewed but it has a strange aftertaste. I can’t pinpoint what it is but there is something off about it.

Samurai Chai Mate from Teavana
67

I bought this mainly for my husband he likes this tea every time he drinks the sample outside the store. I think this is one of their most balanced teas. I taste cinnamon the most but I can taste the pinapple and the spices just as well. A very nice tea. I’m not big on spice teas but it is still very nice for winter.

Sakura Allure from Teavana

Just bought this and tried a cup. It’s a pleasant tea but the fruity taste is much more present then the green tea taste. The fruit really does come out. I can taste some cherry some pineapple it does have a little tartness too it but nothing bad. I sweeten it with a bit of stevia. It’s decent but not sure if I would purchase again. I would prefer it to be a bit more balanced were I can taste the green tea equally as the fruityness.

Orange Pekoe from Gorreana
94

Grew up drinking Gorreana teas. My favorite and easy for me to get because my parents live on the island it is grown.

Black Tea from Gorreana
95

I grew up drinking this tea. My parents are from the island this is grown and I have seen the plantation many times. When little I would drink a big bowl of this with milk in it. So good. I compare all others to this tea.

Green Tea from Gorreana
93

My parents live on St Michaels in the Azores Islands where this tea is grown. Whenever I visit I go see this plantation. Love the green tea it is awesome quality.

Green Tea with Pomegranate from Bigelow
59

My husband bought this for himself but I inhaled it. Its pretty decent but does have a unique flavor to it. Not really predominantly pomegranate but just a fruitiness.

Organic Japanese Sencha from World Market
81

This has been my favorite sencha so far but I haven’t tried many. Light fruity and vegetal.

Earl Grey White from Teavana
64
A very nice earl grey. I can steep twice, of course the second steep is weaker. Add milk to it and very yummy.
Sencha from Teavana

I’ll have to retaste this and come back to this to edit. I haven’t tried many senchas and I’m not sure what quality they were. My first experience was at a restaurant and I loved it. Bought some at World Market in tea bags and tasted just like the restaurant full of flavor nice and vegetal and smooth.
I do not like this sencha so far. It is bland and not what my other experiences were like. Maybe like another reviewer I need to add more tea instead of 1 tsp and play around with the steeping.

Earl Grey Creme from Teavana
36

I’m on the fence about this tea. It’s not a strong earl grey and the creme doesn’t really add what I thought it would. It’s good but not what I expected from it. I like my earl greys to be strong and this is not.

Superfruit Unity from Teavana
84

This was just what i was searching for a nice spring tea. It fruity but not overly fruity light and refreshing. Would probably be a nice iced tea too. When steeped the liqour is a faint pink. It’s just lovely lovely lovely.

Almond Biscotti from Teavana
35

I bought this tea thinking it would be AWESOME with Matevana. Like it would be a chocolate almond biscotti. I’m not a fan of chais or teas with spices so knowing this I still bought this tea even though it has cinnamon in it. The tea is good just not something I particularly like.

Golden Monkey from Teavana
49

This is a good tea to blend with other tea. It gives other teas a smoother finish. On it’s own i’’m not that big of a fan. The first cup i had of this I wasn’t sure I like it at all. Still I continued to drink it and have grown to like the tea on it’s own. Still it works better with other teas.

Honeybush Vanilla from Teavana
76

I bought this to mix with Matevana. I’m glad I did because it’s really sweet and adds a nice smooth vanilla and honey mix to the earthy chocolate of Matevana. I have not tried it on it’s own but have given it to my husband when he wasn’t well and his throat hurt.

MateVana from Teavana

This is my favorite tea so far. It is very earthy and chocolately. I love to blend it with other teas to change it up a bit. I’ve tried with Almond Biscotti, Honeybush Vanilla, and Golden Monkey, all those have been great. I usually steep 2 times and it still tastes great the second time. It’s heavy but I like it for all times of the day.
