There was a message on the container for this tea saying it is good iced, so I thought I’d give it a try. I really like passion fruit, so finding a good iced tea before the weather heats up would be nice.

I decided to brew this hot and allow it to cool on the counter before putting it in the fridge. The verdict? So good! The passion fruit flavor is present but not over the top and not overly floral. I really like this one, and it’s definitely going on my shopping list.

I like this one. It’s nice and sweet with a good apple flavor. The base tea is unremarkable, but that’s ok. The nice apple taste makes this one worth sipping.

From the Here’s hoping Traveling Tea Box #2 (HHTTB2)

This is a middle of the road strawberry tea. It’s good but not great. The strawberry taste slightly bitter and fruity rather than like candy, so that’s a plus. I do think this would make a nice iced tea. I did add a teaspoon of sugar to my cup. I probably could have coaxed more strawberry flavor out of the tea by adding more sugar, but I really didn’t want to do that.

drank O' Sullivan's Favourite by Zen Tea
1118 tasting notes

I’m finishing my last little bit of this tea (weeps). This is a great Irish Breakfast tea, and I have no doubt that it will find its way into my cupboard again. Until then I will miss the rich, biscuity goodness that is this tea!

Zen mentioned they were discontinuing this one soon!

Veronica

Noooo! Thank you for telling me. I’ll try to pick some up this week. I had no idea they were discontinuing teas. Where did you hear about it? I want to make sure I don’t miss any other favorites.

I received this tea in the yarn and tea swap with the Steepsteristas group over on Ravelry. Good tea and good yarn. What more could a girl ask for? :)

This is a really light Earl Grey-ish tea. The bergamot is very subtle. In fact, the orange and orange peel are the more dominant flavors. I’m getting just a hint of smoke. Again, it’s there just subtle. There is also a leather-y tobacco flavor. Everything works together to make this an almost Earl Grey in my opinion. It comes close but in the end it stands on its own with just a nod to the classic tea. Very nice. I’m happy I got to move this one from my wishlist to my cupboard!

drank Lemon Soleil by Adagio Teas
1118 tasting notes

So I’ve tried this one hot, cold brewed and now as an iced tea. Of the three methods this tea taste best iced. Most of the bite at the end of the sip is gone, and the bit of bitterness that remains is not entirely unpleasant. I did add an ample amount of simple syrup to my glass which heightens the lemon flavor, but that flavor is definitely artificial. It’s alright, but I won’t order it again. I’ll be happier making iced tea from a high quality Ceylon and adding lemon slices.

I did bump my rating up a few points because this is much, much better iced than hot.

Preparation
Iced 3 min, 30 sec

Yum. Yum, yum, yum. I love Whispering Pines’ Mint Chocolate Chip, and this tea has all of the great flavors of that tea combined with the amazing blend of spices they add to their chai. Then there is a malty, bready note that makes my eyes roll back in my head. Seriously good stuff. The only possible bad thing is that this is a sample. And I’m not supposed to buy tea until May. I’m not going to make it until May. :)

Whispering Pines Tea Company

Sadly, this tea was never offered…but was a custom blend for you only :)

If you’d like more, however, I can definitely make some more!

Veronica

Oh! Wow, that is the coolest thing ever. :) I would love more of it. I’m planning on placing an order next week, so we’ll have to talk.

Thank you for the amazing tea!

I’m finishing off the last of the generous sample OMGsrsly sent to me. This is really good today. Lots of maple flavor and a nice base tea that is silky smooth. I added a little sugar to my cup and am happily enjoying every sip.

This tea has made me reconsider my feelings toward maple. I was never a big fan if it, but now I’m thinking I’m going to need some sort of maple goodness at least by fall probably sooner.

Thanks again OMGsrsly!

I love the name of this tea. The tea itself sounds wonderful.

drank Blueberry Merlot by Tea Forte
1118 tasting notes

I saw this when I was looking through my tea bags eariler today. I took it out and set it aside for my evening tea. I love a good blueberry tea, so I’m surprised this one has escaped my attention until now.

There is a nice blueberry flavor, but I don’t smell or taste the sage which is disappointing. There is quite a bit of tartness from the hibiscus which I’m guessing is supposed to lend the Merlot flavor, but it misses the mark. Oh well. As a blueberry herbal this is ok, but it doesn’t knock my socks off.

Boiling 5 min, 0 sec

drank Earl Grey Supreme by Harney & Sons
1118 tasting notes

I was looking to make a quick cup of tea this afternoon, so I grabbed my tin that’s chocked full of random tea bags and quickly decided upon this one.

Since this is called Earl Grey Supreme I was expecting to get hit in the face with a lot of bergamot. I wouldn’t consider this a bad thing. I like bergamot and the citrus in pretty much any Earl Grey. I was pleasantly surprised however when it wasn’t an extra dose of flavoring that made this tea supreme but rather very nice ingredients that were expertly balanced. The base tea was smooth and more robust than I expected. All of the citrus flavors were evenly balanced and melded together beautifully. It was such a good cup.

If this is what Harney and Sons can do with the bagged version of this tea then I can’t wait to get my hands on the loose leaf version. My next H&S order is going to be huge!

Boiling 3 min, 45 sec
