why do I ever drink anything else ever. I can’t believe I haven’t had this is two months. It’s perfection. I always avoid it because it’s so touchy about temperature but as I was trying to pick a tea tonight I realized my water was perfect at that very moment for this tea.
Perfect Christmas Eve tea. Now if only netflix would start working!
87 Tasting Notes
So, remember when all the fall teas went away and this one didn’t? I actually don’t know what the plan is. Like, is it in store for good? Are you going to take it away from me soon? ARE YOU GOING TO GIVE ME ENOUGH WARNING TO BUY FIVE KILOGRAMS OF THIS?
these are the things that keep me up at night
just made a cup of this after a furious bout of stress cleaning. Definitely helping to calm me down and bring me back to centre. I love this tea, I steeped it forever, probably like 20 minutes while I finished loading the dishwasher and tidying my kitchen and can definitely taste some astringency from the tulsi, but mostly it’s a lot of licorice. Which I love! I like the cooling effect it has on the back of my throat too. Ommmmmm
Ommmmmg this is YUM. I bought it because I had tried it once and enjoyed it and I like to get the TOTM prepack from DavidsTea. However, I don’t remember it being THIS delicious. It’s sweet and creamy with a hint of spice. This is love.
So, I put two and a bit perfect spoonfuls of this into my steeper. Filled it with water. added some sugar. And set it down on a spoon or something.
After I was done cleaning an entire pot of this off my counter, cleaning my steeper out (it had been long enough that all the naughty things had dissolved and ended up on the counter. A resteep would have been just rooibos. I filled it again, set it down and let it steep. Blended it about 3/5 tea, 2/5 hot vanilla almond milk. AMAZING. Added a sizable lump of brown sugar. (cuz in my house brown sugar comes in rock hard lumps)
mmmm warm and smooth. I only steeped it for about 5 minutes though, I didn’t read the directions on the bag. Next time I’ll leave it in for longer but this is smooth and minty and makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside <3
I admitted defeat on keeping up with my advent calender fairly early on in the month. I mainly bought it for the little tins anyway. But this, this is great! I’ve had Hot Lips before, late in the summer iced. It was good. THIS IS BETTER. I added a dash of honey and yum yum yum.
apparently i’ve never reviewed this. I hadn’t really tried it until it showed up in my advent calender last week. But I’ve since bought 50 g or so and am enjoying it with honey and vanilla almond milk right now. it’s soooo good.
this tea is just bloody perfect. i just made it at home for the first time after drinking multiple cups at work. I’m going to resteep these leaves all night and clean my apartment. Also, I forgot how heavy it gets. I went to lift my infuser out and dropped it back into the cup! it goes from this little scoop of pebbles to like a basket of wet spinach in like three minutes!
I have had this tea before and loved it, hot and iced. However, a coworker made me this today. It was strong, iced, sweetened (I think with honey?) and had a touch of milk (I think skim)
First of all IT LAYERS guyz it looks so pretty. Second of all OMG it’s a creamsicle. I am buying a tin of this tomorrow and trying it with vanilla almond milk. OOOO or maybe even chocolate?

So there was an incident involving some combination of me knocking the steeper, the bird flying off my head in a tizzy and my yelping. So half of my little tin of it (I hacked my advent calender dude) ended up on the floor.
But i steeped what was left about 2 perfect spoonfuls, in about 8 oz of water for around8 minutes, add a tsp or two of honey, and iced in my noble travel mug. THIS IS DELICIOUS. buying some tomorrow (all I want to drink right now is rooibos

I’ve been in a bit of a tea rut the past few days. Nothing in my cupboard looks good so I just drink water or juice. At work, it’s pumpkin chai, chai guarana, honeybee cocoa matcha everyday.
But I needed a cup of tea tonight and as I am woefully behind on my Advent Calender (which is fine, truth be told, I really decided to buy it because I wanted the tiny adorable tins for care packages) I decided to make a pot of this.
Amazing. It’s a beautiful golden colour and I tasted burnt sugar and creamy custard and delicious rooibos. I have been drinking it from bubble cups (i think they’re 6oz?) and I sweetend one, then drank one without, then sweetened a third a bit too heavily. But all three have been delicious. This would be amazing as a latte!
oh chocolate chili chai. Just when I’m about to give up on you forever you go and treat me so good. Brewed a pot of this (2 heaping “perfect spoonfuls” so 5tsps) in 24 oz of boiling water for five minutes. sweetened it liberally with honey. ooo baby. Gonna be wide awake all night with heartburn and not gonna regret it
can’t stop, won’t stop, never gonna stop
sharing a pot of this and a box of maple nut oatmeal crisp. lovely.
sore throat miracle cure. i love this tea so hard, it’s literally a miracle cure for my throat. i basically talk all day everyday and often start to get very very croaky. if i make one of these when i leave work and sip it while waiting for/on the bus, my throat feels fine by the time I get home. seriously wonderful.
how have i not fallen in love with this tea already?!?!?! i was really really hot at work yesterday so i made an iced bamboozled. (bamboo is cooling, and pineapple reduces inflamation) perfect. i’ve drank a litre and a half of this over the last two days.

final tea of the evening if a 24 oz pot of this. i’ve been adding a scant tsp of white sugar to each 6oz cup and it’s just… 15 calorie perfection. i have an intense love of apple cider and this satisfies this craving perfectly. i’m generally not a huge fan of hibiscus and i really am aching for a tea like this without the tartness, but i understand my sweet tooth is more pronounced than most peoples.
also, the toasted rice gives this a fullness. it’s like genmaicha but fun fruity and caffeine free!!!!
way to ruin your tea allyson… so i got distracted and oversteeped this. but even though it’s awfully bitter it’s STILL not a terrible cup of tea. i am always pleased when i realize i’ve oversteeped a chinese instead of a japanese green. bitter i can take but i hate the fishiness of oversteeped japanese sencha.
not a tasting note so much as a…. bath note? i threw two tea sacs of this into a steaming hot bath this afternoon and emerged soft, smelling amazing and waaaay more relaxed than any bubble bath ever. also, because it’s just rooibos, lavender and coconut i was able to hang out with my bird while i was in the tub without worrying about him coming into contact with harmful chemicals
