While visiting the Millerton shop yesterday I was in the tasting room faced with the daunting task of selecting my second tea to try from the wall of 300! So I asked one of the ladies behind the counter what she would suggest in decaf black tea. This was her first choice which a few others quickly agreed with.
I have to say the vanilla smell of the dry leaf sold me long before I even tasted the tea! I really wanted to eat the leaves they smelled that good! (I did not) But when the tea had been properly steeped I took my first sip and was in love. A few other tasters even asked for a sniff of my tea. :) The flavor is nice and light and very soothing. It made me forget all about the storm outside.
