151 Tasting Notes
Every now and again, I hoard a tea, I hoard it so whole heartedly that when the time comes, the brew tastes wonderful. I hoarded about 400g of this tea. When they broke up their summer kits that summer, i bought every single 25g bag of it they had to offer. I filled my tin at summer’s end, etc etc. I love this tea so much.
Anyways, a few weeks ago i got to chatting with the guy working at davids and we got talking about this tea… i told him i’d bring him some because he also loved it and was becoming nostalgic for it, and i totally get that feeling haha… so i brought it to him. Fast forward to last week, I go back in and he dead stops and tells me how he made it a teapop… he said the vanilla and pear work perfectly with the fizz, and this is how it is meant to be served… so i brought some more in and tried it… and oh my god.. he was right… after drinking it as a teapop.. i don’t know that i’ll feel the same about it as a hot tea, or even an iced tea… it was pure magic.. if anyone has any left, i dare you to try it!
Preparation
not bad for a lipton.. i’d been wanting to try this one, but was unable to locate it anywhere here in canada… so i got some sent to me in a swap and was thrilled.. i cold steeped it, but am going to try it hot.. it reminds me of davids berry good.. only its a black tea, which i prefer to a puh’erh … the berry good made my stomach hurt!
Preparation
When I was very first into teas, it was a summer, when the fall collection rolled out, all I remember is this one being in it, and pumpkin chai. I spent so much time in love with pumpkin chai, that I neglected to drink this. Plus, I drank nowhere near the amount of tea that I drink now. I was a much slower sipper. Luckily, they brought this one out again. I tried it today, iced, because its insanely hot here. I love this tea… the apple isn’t overpowering, its a nice green, not white, so I don’t get that weird taste I usually do, and I taste a little bit of a hint of some kind of buttery flavour, which really does make me think of an apple pie… definitely going to add it to my collection!
Preparation
This is a great chamomile! it doesn’t have that typical chamomile taste, that usually turns me off of them!… this one tastes just like apple pie! … which is so comforting after supper and before bed! I HIGHLY recommend it!
Preparation
This was not one of my favorite chai’s. I think i’m just not a chai person… I did however like this one iced.. maybe its because its summer…. I don’t know, I have saved a little bit so I can try it hot when the weather gets better, but I found it a little bland. Although the coconut did add a little something to it which made it a little creamier and sweeter.. I did like that aspect of it!
I love this tea. A lot of times when you get teas that contain kiwi (ie; kiwi’s big adventure, from davids), it kind of tastes artificial. This one tastes really natural … the ingridients all work really well together. The rooibos is nice and light as well, and doesn’t have this weird distinctive taste that I am very picky about with my rooibos teas!. fantastic blend!
at the moment my hoardable tea is the rose congou, lol…. ……. okay, maybe a few others too!
i have about 75 grams left.. they should have a back from the dead contest for halloween.. although i doubt many people would want to bring it back.. it wasn’t a very highly rated tea… they should bring it back next summer as part of a favorites collection.. it would work well with marketing tea pops..
