So I was really wanting to like this. The coconut was spot on for me! Unfortunately, unless cheesecake tastes like soap, the cheesecake part wasn’t. I honestly got coconut and soap. I dunno. Really weird stuff. Anyway, back into the Caffeine Free TTB it goes, hopefully somebody on down the line enjoys it!

drank Vanilla Comoro by Harney & Sons

Another from the Caffeine Free TTB. I’ve recently discovered that I really like Harney & Sons so to try this very often talked about tea was a treat! It was very basic in the nicest way possible, truly. All I really got was vanilla and the smooth, tasty black base and that’s all I needed to get. Nothing more, nothing less. I could see this being consistently delicious and relaxing. I think, therefore, that I have found the first tea that I want to keep stocked in my cupboard!

drank Oh Canada! by DAVIDsTEA

My first DAVIDsTea came from the Caffeine Free Traveling Tea Box and it was delightful! I was very impressed. I got wood and maple, two things I’ve never gotten in a tea. I’m slightly disappointed I didn’t get the leaf pile others mentioned but that’s the caveat of researching a tea before tasting it yourself, I suppose. Regardless, this was very good. Smooth and a good mouth feel. I’d been holding off a buying anything from DAVIDs since they don’t sell samples online. I think I’ll pick some up now!

I really, really like this! I had it with lunch yesterday and enjoyed it so much, I had it again today. I never do that, you guys. Never. That’s how much I like this. It’s minty and fruity and sweet without sugar and just plain delightful!

drank Chocolate Chai by Bigelow

My parents picked me up a box of this as part of my Valentine’s Day present because they’re awesome and thoughtful like that. This isn’t a bad breakfast tea! It got me up and going and almost ok with the fact that it’s only Wednesday. I stayed up way too late last night (curse you, Orange is the New Black!) so I needed a boost this morning.
To the tea, it’s really good. As it cools, I’m getting more of a chocolate note and the spiciness of the chai is very nice. It’s very balanced and I enjoy it. I made it and added some milk and a packet of artificial sweetener. I don’t like artificial sweetener but I didn’t realize I was out of sugar at the office so this was pilfered from the break room. Shhh! Anyway, pretty good little tea. You should give it a shot.

Thank to Teavivre for the super generous sample! This is excellent! The flavor is so natural and it complements the oolong flavor so well. Simply yummy! Exactly what I needed after a crummy day!

Smooth, pretty color but not a lot of flavor. Like slightly grassy, warm water. Meh. I’ll finish the cup as there is nothing to which I object.

Did you have this at the store? Honestly I don’t think their employees know what they are doing when it comes to making tea!

This is seriously so good. I think I may have a favorite tea, you guys. The dry leaf smells so coconut-ty but then it brews up and smells all floral but not overpowering. Then you drink it and it’s so smooth and nuanced and just delicious! Oh, so good!!!

Picked this set up for myself as a little after Christmas gift because it was inexpensive and I deserve nice things (mainly because it was inexpensive, haha)! I tried the mango today and it’s pretty nice. I don’t get much flavor from it but the base is really nice for being a cheap-o. No bitterness, no astringency. Just a nice little tea that held up pretty well to my lunch of leftover chili. It’s still really freaking cold here, for those wanting a weather update. A good amount of ice and snow still on the ground.

In other news, I took a Tea 101 class yesterday and it was followed by a focused green tea tasting at a local tea shop. It was a nice class but truly a 101. I didn’t learn anything, except that I like Japanese greens over Chinese, because I’d heard everything else by hanging out on here and from taking lessons on Adagio’s Tea Class online. I did have my first matcha and that was fun! It was still kinda powdery, not like what I’ve seen pictures of however, and everyone at my table dumped theirs except my husband who handed his to me to drink.
