Hmmm. I decided to try this one again, this time adding some ginger into the mix. Oh my goodness, what a difference! It tastes a lot like DT’s The Skinny, which is great. It has a bit more of an oolong-y taste to it than The Skinny, which I find mostly dominated by orange and ginger. This one still has great undertones of grapefruit and ginger, but the flavour is much more complex and interesting. I like it so much more now, and am glad to have an entire pot of it in front of me :-)

I used to love Secret Weapon so much! But today, we are NOT getting along. It doesn’t taste as toasty as it should, the flavour is not as full bodied as I remember, it’s giving me a headache AND its triggered my acid reflux. I thought we were best friends :’-(

Love this one. I’ve just spent all day drinking a huge, huge pot of this tea. Both hot and cold, this tea is phenomenal. I love the light, palate cleansing orange and the lingering bergamot. I don’t crave this tea often, but when I do, the craving stays until I finally get it! For people who have previously had this tea and did not like it: It’s VERY particular in steep time and temp, so be careful and don’t blame the tea when it tastes bitter!

I’ve been enjoying this tea more these days than I would like to admit. I don’t know why, but its comforting simplicity is just magical to me. The best way to enjoy it in store is to get the tea bags on the side, and then put them in your cup about five or ten minutes after the water has had time to cool down sufficiently. Otherwise, this will be a big bitter mess.
The perfectly roasty, vegetative smell that this tea gives off is more than welcome right now. The slight astringency is also welcome. I’ve been feeling this tea even more than genmaicha’s soothing comfort these days, as I seem to be in a bit of a rut both tea-wise and life-wise, and China Green is an easy decision to make.
And who can overlook the ease with which this tea can be brewed? I love not having to measure, scoop, and clean my infuser. Not all the time, of course, but when the cup is this good, credit must be given where credit is due.

Cold remedy? Maybe, but I like Licorice Twist all the time!
I’m upping my rating, this tea has so much delightful complexity. The licorice is sweet and smooth, and the chili pepper is a surprisingly playful afterthought in the back of the throat. I can even taste the mint and a bit of the pineapple! There’s a lot of flavours but they mix very well together.
The aftertaste reminds me of my childhood, when I used to go to the bank with my mom and I would steal a small pile of envelopes to take home and lick shut. What I’m getting at is that the aftertaste tastes like envelope glue. And I like that.

I’m excited to try this one, and also so unsure of what I’m about to get. The dry leaf smells very fruity, and it wasn’t until I read that it was almond-y that I realized what I was smelling. I’ve decided to steep this for two minutes, because I only steep my greens for one minute and my blacks for three :-) When steeping, the smell changed several times, but was mostly centered around the almond.. Now that it’s done, it smells like something I can’t really define.. I’m getting more and more doubtful of this guy!
But it tastes like an almond cookie. How strange. I think it’s one of the truest almond teas I’ve had, though I’m not really a fanatic about almond, the way that some people are. It’s not as fruity as I had hoped, but maybe we can coax the exotic part of this tea out with different steeping methods. I’m intrigued, but not in love (thus far, anyway!).
But from a truly objective viewpoint, I can see that a lover of almond or almond cookies would completely love this :-) I wish that I had a tea that I can compare the flavour to, but really, I don’t think I’ve had one as unique as this before.

I’ve found Cream of Earl Grey to be extremely temperamental. Don’t follow the brewing instructions, this tea needs to be lightly steeped for just 2 minutes and 30 seconds, and it’s completely divine even without milk and sugar. I need to set a timer with this guy, and as soon as that 2 1/2 minutes are up, I take it out regardless of how I’m feeling it might taste, and it always comes out great. It’s become my morning routine to brew this tea and do a 2 minute clean up while it steeps (I always think of Loonette and her Ten Second Tidy on the Big Comfy Couch).
I’ve been drinking it straight, just because I feel that adding sugar or milk to tea can quickly turn a good habit into a bad one. But this morning I had it with milk and some agave, and it was just blissful. Sometimes, you need to indulge yourself!
Yes, I had a very bad first impression of this tea, but God only knows how long I had steeped it for. With a little TLC, this tea can go a long way :-)

This tea is an elixir of the gods. The licorice gives it the sweetest flavour, successfully masks the bitterness of the valerian root, and pairs perfectly with the oat flower. You just get a hint of the chamomile and lavender, just enough to know that it’s there, and my goodness is it ever nice to fall asleep to! I just wish I could drink this all day long. I can’t wait to try more of Pukka’s blends.

I still love this tea, but have discovered that the secret to its infusion is by using tea bags, rather than an infuser that lets the leaves open up. I know all those things about surface area, resteeping, blah blah but this one tastes best when confined :-) Only then will you get the taste of vanilla cupcake!

I am so glad I bought some of this, and need to go back for more ASAP. This is amazing!! Tastes just like dark chocolate. In a tea. I like that it’s JUST cacao, because I’m getting tired of those chocolate blends and really just needed something like this. I love it. Like Jessie, I can’t wait to do splendid things with this tea.

I legit cannot stress enough that I am going to STOCK up on this tea before it’s gone. This tea is amazing – so much cinnamon, so much heat!!! I truly love it, and want to drink it every single day until I die. I don’t know how much I’ll have to buy to make this possible. I’ve considered buying 1kg. I grabbed a cup of this today, and was sad when I finished it. Must… Have… More… Hot Lips. Thanks to DT for coming out with a tea that’s perfectly complex without an excess of ingredients!! It tastes the same as filling your mouth completely with cinnamon hearts.

So yummy!! I took steep.it’s advice and only steeped this for 30 seconds, and it turned out perfectly. Sometimes I think that this tea has a strange taste, but as it cooled, that taste went away and it was pure citrus-y delight! I was also happy because I got a good resteep out of it! That took away some of the bitter feelings that my wallet was holding against this tea.

Oh me! Oh my!
It’s so funny, the first time I had this tea, I didn’t like it. Now I drink it a couple times a week, mostly in the evening (often happens after my after-dinner tea, and before my bedtime tea). I prefer it hot over iced. If you leave it to steep for a couple hours and then microwave it, it really gets spicy from the peppercorns. Most of the time I can’t wait that long to drink it, but I love that this tea gives the option of such spiciness!. I love the lemongrass-coconut combination – and I don’t even like coconut. The coconut always makes it feel like the perfect tropical beverage! I love this blend, I think it that it works perfectly but definitely crafted for a certain palate. Probably for people who like to drink their Thai food. Speaking of which, I would love to cook with this, too. I also want to boil it on the stove, chai style, and see how it turns out.

Ahhhhh. The delghtfully tasteful Cinnamon Rooibos Chai. I still remember the first time I had this tea, it leaves such an incredible impression. This is such a warming cup of tea, I could drink it anytime, anywhere. I would drink it much more if it weren’t for the horrendous acid reflux that this tea provokes… >:-O
Dropping the rating just a little bit for this tea’s negative effects.

WOAH… Strange. This tea is the epitome of the “too many ingredients” syndrome. I don’t know what’s happening here. Not one flavour stands out, but I THINK I can taste the nettle? It’s not a particularly tropical-tasting tea, so I wonder how much pineapple there actually is… It kind of tastes what I would imagine a cactus would taste like. Maybe that’s the aloe vera? But aloe vera isn’t even listed under the ingredients… You definitely can’t taste the hibiscus.. The liquor doesn’t have a hint of pink to it, it’s more light golden orange. But maybe I didn’t get any hibiscus in my scoop? I’m just utterly confused by this blend. I have nothing else to say but try it only if you’re feeling adventurous.

Out of the teas I tried from Tealish, this is one of my favourites. I CRAVE the currant/cinnamon combo. Dry, it smells mostly of currants. When brewed, I think it smells like candy :) Really, that’s currants and cinnamon. But it tastes like candy, too! You don’t get much of the sencha, but that’s fine in my books as I’m not so into the vegetative taste, especially when I’m in the mood to drink my candy :-) This tea is definitely a gem hidden within a whole lot of rocks, in my opinion :-) And who couldn’t love such a pretty blend?

I like that these teas are not as sweet, they are more tart and true to flavour. I thought this one was good, but maybe had a bit too much… lime? I’m not sure. I wasn’t sure when I was drinking it, but I wish it had a bit more coconut. This one could easily taste even more like a tropical beverage, waiting to transport you to the beach. That being said, this tea was still fantastic, and would probably be even better iced, which I’m excited to try.

I thought this was THE one for me. My two favourite things rolled into one. I am enjoying it immensely, but I wish that the oolong was a bit less roasty, more floral, and that the grapefruit made me pucker. That’s okay. It’s still drinkable, and I still get some notes of grapefruit. The oolong is quite nice, and I think that my note will be biased because I had such high hopes, and now they’ve been dashed. It’s nice on the tongue: The oolong gives the first impression, then the citrus-y flavour of the grapefruit can be tasted at the back of the tongue, and lingers in the after taste.
Oh what’s the point in hiding my disappointment? I feel like Charlie Brown.

I think that the ginger and the spiciness is just drowned out by stevia in this blend. It leaves a really brutal aftertaste, one that I haven’t noticed so much in other teas that contain stevia. I only tried it in store, as it was the tea of the day the last time I was in – Maybe if I brew it myself and make it a bit stronger, the stevia won’t be as offensive. But really, if I have to make an effort to like a tea, I really shouldn’t bother. There are too many better ones out there!!! I’ll leave it unrated for now though.. Would hate to give it a biased rating.

Not my favourite – The rooibos was pretty strong tasting in this blend. I think it could use more of any of the flavours. That being said, it was a comforting, drinkable cup as I made my way through Chinatown, and I enjoyed it quite a bit all the same. It doesn’t actually taste like anything campfire – It just looks like a campfire. It’s quite the pretty blend! But if you’re looking for a rooibos tea that doesn’t taste like rooibos (like I often do), don’t go for it.

Yummy!! This is what DT’s Pink Flamingo was SUPPOSED to be like, but wasn’t. I think they must have added something extra to the same blend, and it didn’t work out. For all you Pink Flamingo lovers, get your fill from Herbal Infusions!! There was still something I didn’t like about this blend, either the carrot or the eucalyptus. But it was still a great cup, one that I could have again. I enjoyed that it was light and fruity, much lighter than most of the fruity teas that you find out there nowadays. Give it a shot! It’s a beautiful loose leaf as well – and steeps up a nice rosy pink. It really hit the spot.
