433 Tasting Notes
(backlogging this from last week)…
My sister sent me this, and I finally got around to trying it. As a general rule, I do not get along with herbal teas and this one was tastier than most but still, I’m not a fan. I don’t like anise in teas and it was VERY strong in this blend. I can see a lot of people really enjoying this, because it does have a decent flavour, but even with the strong anise it’s still too “twiggy” (herbal) for me.

I haven’t tried this more than one or two other times, so I thought I’d give it another go today. Pretty unspectacular… a slightly spiced up plain black tea. Nothing awful, but I won’t re-purchase when I run out.

Love this blend. Such a big difference between this and the other plain black blends I’ve been drinking this week. If only US teas were made like the UK ones! This was the perfect cuppa today.
Even though I need something stronger (caffeine-wise) today, this is so perfect. I really love this blend, and it’s by far the best green tea I’ve tried. I’m still trying to figure out exactly where the slight sweetness is coming from (if there’s a little bit of added sugar, it sure is subtle, so I still think it’s the pineapple bits) but it really is just such a nice tea. I wish it was warmer in my office so I didn’t have to keep reheating it!
My first cup (Tazo’s Awake blend) was so disappointing today that I decided I needed a second cup this afternoon, and this was so much better in comparison. It shouldn’t be so hard to make a decent bagged black tea, but there are a lot of mediocre blends out there, unfortunately.
Second try for this tea after not having had it for several years. I liked it much better originally than I do now, but I’m sure Tazo has changed over the years (their packaging sure has). Very mediocre—I prefer almost any plain black blend (Lipton, Bigelow, Tetley) to this).

Yep, it’s a big tea day today (I really need the caffeine). I know people have complained about the black Tazo blend before, but I really like it… it’s different than the usual Lipton or Bigelow that most places serve, and I appreciate the fact that there are never any floaty tea leaves at the bottom when I get this kind!
I always get mine unsweetened (I’m so not a fan of sweet teas, unless we’re talking chai), and it’s always perfect (and calorie-free). Big fan!
Needed an extra (and fast) energy boost today as I don’t remember the last full night’s sleep I’ve gotten and I had a training course this morning. It definitely served it’s purpose, although I could’ve stood to brew it even longer than I did.
Forgot again what a bummer this bagged tea is. SO disappointing and flavourless, despite the amazing cinnamon smell. I must remember to buy the loose leaf kind!
My sister got this for me years ago (when she lived in Hawaii). It came in a pack with two other tropical teas, and I keep forgetting to drink them. The reason for that would be that they’re pretty forgettable. Unfortunately, this “pineapple” blend isn’t fruity at all. At most, I get a slightly woody note out of this tea, and otherwise it’s just a slightly funky-tasting black tea. I’m sure it doesn’t help that I’ve had it for so long, but I remember being terribly disappointed after first trying it as well.
It’s an early Friday for me this week, since I work for a Swiss-owned company and we get Good Friday off (which is so weird, but I’ll take it)!
My at-work go-to when I can’t think of what to bring with me when I leave in the morning. The spices are coming out very nicely in today’s brewing—very nice for a cold, windy spring day!
Every time I try this, I want to lower my rating. It’s not that it’s horrible, I just remember it being so much better! This will definitely be the last tin I’ll buy of it—I’m always disappointed when I give it another try.
