Drank this in the afternoon today. I found out Teavana is discontinuing this tea. I bought a pound of it as soon as I found out. I love this stuff so much, and I’m never going to be able to buy it again after Sunday. :sob:
117 Tasting Notes
Tea of the morning… It’s got this wonderful smoky flavor — not like lapsang souchong, though. Smoother and milder. I like it.
I tried a second steeping, but it was flavorless. Oh well. Only one cup for me today, then…
I’m still surprised that I crave this tea sometimes. It’s just so… odd…
I’m having an EAT ALL THE CHOCOLATE day, so I’m trying to curb the urge with a nice chocolatey tea. It’s helping.
Been drinking this iced all day. Just finished the pitcher. It makes okay iced tea. Just wish it had less hibiscus…
I woke up at 6am with a craving for this. Went back to bed. Went I got up for real at 9:30 I made some right away. Just finished the cup. Yum.
This has become my go-to comfort tea since I can’t consume large amounts of black tea anymore. I like it lots. It’s just so damn complex!
The vanilla flavor of this is lovely. There’s absolutely no tea flavor, but it’s a nice smooth vanilla drink when I crave vanilla.
This is so tasty. I love the coffee-plus-almond-biscotti flavor!
I opened up this sample this morning. I’ve had it since 2008, but Upton’s bags keep tea fresh for ages so long as the package is unopened and kept somewhere dark and cool (like, say, the back of the kitchen cabinet). This tea was still wonderfully fresh and aromatic. The scent reminded me strongly of a Keemun black — very perfumey (in a good way). The taste was a little smoky and a little sweet. It’s a very nice example of a Fujian tea. I liked it quite a bit. I’ll definitely be finishing the sample. I wish I had more…
I think I’m going to retire this one to the back of the cabinet for a while. The woody taste was interesting when I first started drinking honeybush, but the novelty has worn off and the roughness of it is getting to me.
I actually found myself craving this around 5pm. I thought that odd, because it’s an odd tea. But I made some when I got home from running errands, and it really hit the spot. Huh. Still tastes like soybeans, but I picked up some hints of other flavors, too. I’m not sure what they were, but it turns out the tea is a bit more complex than I originally thought. Interesting.
Had this while my husband was having a medical thing done this afternoon. I sat in the waiting room and drank tea. I love Yunnan Gold…
Had this sometime yesterday. (Yes, I’m catching up on my tealog. For those of you following me, sorry for spamming you.) I still like how smooth this rooibos is, although I want more of a caramel flavor to it.
Still drinking this iced. This is like the third pitcher I’ve made in the last week. I’m fascinated by the elderberry and blackcurrant flavors.
I was drinking this at 3am last night. It helped soothe me so I could get to bed. Lovely apple taste.
Had some of this last night. Very nice cup. Nice and spicy!
Had a cup of this last night. It was a gift from someone I know from Ravelry. For a decaf black tea it wasn’t bad, but it still didn’t have as much flavor as regular black tea. That’s always going to be the case, sadly. But it was decent for a decaf, so thanks to the giver!
Had this an hour ago. Wanted something desserty. It tasted wonderful, but I still went for the ice cream after I finished my cup. Oops.
Drank this while I was running errands. I love the slight natural sweetness and the way it feels on my tongue.
Perfect for relaxing after finishing my homework for the night.
Tasty as usual.
Nice hot-chocolatey taste. Made a perfect dessert for tonight.
Had this in the afternoon while doing homework. Sooooo good. I love a good malty Assam. Had it with a bit of milk. Yum.
