I do believe this is my first green tea from Nilgiri, I’ve had a few of the blacks which I’ve enjoyed.

Upon opening the package, this tea smells very fresh and vegetal. I steeped this in my regular infuser mug method and got a very light olive colored liquor. There are some interesting things going on with this tea. I am definitely getting the straw/hay type of taste along with some light vegetal notes. The finish is where this tea has all of the fruitiness. It has a bit of a mild astringency but nothing overwhelming.

I’m not sure if I could justify buying this again due to the price – $19.60 for 125 grams is a lot when I’m not terribly impressed with the tea and you can get a nicer Chinese green tea for less money. I haven’t had any green teas so far from India that have totally blown me away, but the Jun Chiyabari Estate green teas from Nepal are definitely worth checking out in my opinion.

I’m glad that I tried this though. It is definitely different from other green teas I’ve had in the past.

It’s funny you’re drinking this today, because I’m trying a Ceylon green from Upton that I really like. Check out my note!

TeaBrat

nice… yours sounds better than mine. :)

It’s delicious. I’m sure I’ll be ordering more before it runs out.
