It’s tea party day! Hooray!

We reversed the way we usually serve tea today. Customarily we would serve the lightest tea first and progress to flavored or bolder ones. But today I really wanted to start with our warm, fudgy brownies topped with chilled sugared strawberries, and I was in the mood for a heartier tea to go with it, so we began with Hunan Golden Twist.

What can I say? It was better than ever and tasted delicious with our food. It is malty and bready, yet smooth with no astringency at all. There is a light smokey maple bacon taste, but that was less noticeable with food. So sad we can’t get this anymore!

Bio

I am a music teacher, tutor, and former homeschool mom (25 years!) who started drinking loose leaf tea about fourteen years ago! My daughters and I have tea every day, and we are frequently joined by my students or friends for “tea time.” Now my hubby joins us, too. His tastes have evolved from Tetley with milk and sugar to mostly unadorned greens and oolongs.

We have learned so much history, geography, and culture in this journey.

My avatar is a mole in a teacup! Long story…
