911 tasting notes

I just got a good report at the dentist and now my teeth are all clean and shiny. So I’m gonna muss them up with some tea! Yay! This one is another one from TeaEqualsBliss – thank you!

The smell is hitting all sorts of notes that I’m familiar with but I can’t quite place. Mango maybe? And maybe Tan Yang? With a dash of something like wet ash? It smells sweet but also smoky. Not Lapsang or Bohea smoky though. Cigarette or cigar smoky.

The taste is pretty much like the smell but in reverse. Wet smoke/ask, some Tan Yang-esque tea, a dash of mango (or something fruity sweet). The cigar smoke taste backs off a bit when it cools, showing up consistently at the tail end, followed by a typical “tea” taste. This reminds me a ton of SpecialTea’s Formosa Fanciest Oolong, but thicker.

I would say that fans of darker oolongs would probably really enjoy this one because it has a very similar taste profile. It’s a good tea, just not entirely up my alley.

Yay messing up clean teeth with tea!

You know, just the other day I read an article that was posted on twitter by one of the tea companies or blogs I follow. There are some studies by dentists that show that tea (more specifically green teas) actually helps keep our teeth healthier and stronger for longer periods of than normal.

So don’t think of it as messing your teeth up! lol

Maybe that’s why they were saying my teeth looked so great – all the tea! YAY! Must drink more! :)

Batrachoid

I’ve noticed that the coffee/soda pop drinkers in m life have more dissmal buccal health than the tea drinkers I know. One more reason tea lovers shall obviously take over the earth.

Angrboda

Oh the Tan Yang… mourns
I have never ever EVER missed a tea as much as I’m missing the Tan Yang. I haven’t even missed the infamous raspberry oolong as much as I miss the Tan Yang. I wants it back so badly and I can’t make myself buy the other leaf grade at that price! :(
(And to think I wasn’t sure what to make of it in the beginning)

I’m trying to be a better tea logger and actually post semi-regularly again! I’ve let my tea tasting senses become too complacent – it’s time for some focused and attentive tea drinking!

Sometimes my notices for PMs and such have been questionable. Email me at your own risk at aug3zimm at gmail dot com.

1 – 10 – Bleck. Didn’t finish the cup.
11 – 25 – Drinkable. But don’t punish me by making me have it again.
26 – 40 – Meh. Most likely will see if the husband likes it iced.
41 – 60 – Okayish. Maybe one day I’ll kill off what I have in my pantry.
61 – 75 – Decent. I might pick some up if I needed tea.
76 – 85 – Nice. I’d probably buy but wouldn’t hunt it down.
86 – 100 – Yum! I will hunt down the vendor to get this tea!

Not that anyone but me particularly cares, but there it is.
