Coconut Matcha from Red Leaf Tea
98

I am now sampling the coconut matcha – very small serving as I don’t want to be climbing the walls lol
Here is where you can get it
http://www.redleaftea.com/matcha-tea/coconut-matcha.html

So the aroma in dry form was a bit MEH … it smelled like suntan lotion.
HOWEVER once prepared it is VERY good so just either get past the aroma or don’t sniff it not that it easy to ignore any matcha smell as the powder sort of makes its way into the nose no matter what ya do!

My daughter and I got distracted singing “Put the lime in the coconut …” haha now you are all going to be singing that in your heads ….THE POINT however is in messing around I dumped the powder into my cup instead of my mixing bowl. YIKEs I thought I had made a huge mistake but I just went ahead and added straight milk to it – NO WATER!!!
Can you believe it – this stuff is GOOD! Coconut MILK hahah. I am sure you can pull this off with any milk product or almond, soy etc.. HEY maybe even COCONUT milk!
Oh and you know how I said sangria frothed up well?? WELL … This frothed up SUPER easy! HUGE foam! I may have to try doing more of my matcha this way – just skipping the water all together! Now this is what I call a HAPPY accident!
SO SO SO YUMMY!
I do wonder if it would have been AS good had I used water … hummmmmm …

I have been hubby’s matcha that way! I just heat the milk in the microwave, take it out and dump in the matcha powder and blend it! The froth is pretty unbelievable.

Pumpkin Pie was great that way, too! Probably any dessert flavor would be. You are having a very match-filled evening! I hope they can scrape you off the chandelier by morning! :) That is what would happen to me, but I am a caffeine wimp.

I almost always do my matcha with just milk. I prefer it that way and it’s the only tea I can get the husband enthusiastic about! I love coconut and can’t wait to try out this flavor!

Do you notice that matcha froths better when mixed with milk instead of water?
I was so happy to make that mistake lol I will be trying it with some other flavors today!

Oh yeah, it froths great with milk only! I have such a hard time trying to get it to froth with water, especially since I use a bamboo whisk by hand. It might froth better using a mechanical frother…but I’m cheap!

Most of my reviews will be “snippits” of full reviews that can be found at http://sororiteasisters.com/
Posted every evening at 6 EST.
I usually try to post the exact date that the full reviews will post however sometimes post dates need changed so it may not always be correct. Generally the dates are correct however.

About Me:

Most of my reviews, although not all, will be quite favorable of the tea. This is not because all tea is excellent, but more so because I generally will not waste my time on an inferior tea. If I do not care for a tea I won’t continue to drink it let alone spend time reviewing it. If you see a review by me you basically know it is a quality tea. Granted it may not suit your specific taste buds, we all like different things, but as for a tea on the whole it is a good one, from a good company.

I am a spiritual advisor by profession.
I have two “young adult” children.
Four cats and three dogs.

Some of my hobbies include gardening, essential oil therapy, natural perfumery with essential oils, and cooking.

I look for complexity overall in any tea, dimensions to the flavors.

I believe tea should evoke a feeling, thought, emotion, or attitude.

I enjoy most all oolongs, blacks, whites, and greens.

I always love to try a good yellow tea.

I favor unadulterated teas but I do have my longings for a good flavored tea now and then so I don’t rule them out by any means!

I enjoy green rooibos don not like red rooibos.
