807 Tasting Notes
This is alright. Im too exhausted still due to hubby having been on overnight schedule this past week – to do a proper review. I will not rate yet either.
Its good but not mind blowing but I was also half asleep still when I made the cup so it could be my fault.
There may be some fakey like flavor in it … its perfumey sort of but please don’t take this for sure until I have it again. I will update and do a formal review.
I do like it a lot better as I let it get cool. This may be one of those I save for iced tea in the summer.
SIPDOWN!
All gone.
Would love to order more but I placed too many orders this week and need to stop for the month.
I also really want to get my stash organized before the orders I placed arrive let alone order more.
I throughly enjoyed this tea!
Bold, rich, flavorful, (see previous notes).
An excellent morning cup.
LOL I have some I hoard but they do taste better when really fresh so we have to let ourselves indulge.
oh man i agree….i’m desperate to be able to take the time to sit and nejoy my reserve club tea from january…I haven’t started and february’s been shipped lol
I often wonder what you are getting in the reserve club. I wish that they would list past teas they have offered in this.
I can send you a list of january Azz…i know terri usually posts that tea X was from the resrve club when she does her reviews too
I just can NOT top Kashap’s review! Its spot on!
I love this oolong! I too am not always fond of Wuyi – I like it but this is the first one I can recall that has really WOWd me!!
The aroma – wow – when I had that first whiff of this tea before sipping I instantly thought of Burnt Marshmallows! Now I indeed do love my marshmallows burnt till they are pitch black as long as there is still yummy melting marshmallow inside. This was the aroma! There was that smokiness to it that really had me.
I have had a long dang day and this is hitting the spot!
To top it off I started my day with an excellent tea from another company – already reviewed – then I had another tea from THIS company which I have yet to review but soon will. I just don’t think I am alert enough to give either of these teas from White Lion justice right now.
I will say this. I really can’t afford another tea order right now and have a lot of expenses coming up, and I have been wanting to place an order with a favorite company for ages now BUT I regret, regret, regret, NOT getting more than a sample of this AND their Lemon Souffle!
An order is being placed!
Plus I am grabbing a sample vanilla dolce and calypso!
Haha your welcome but seriously your review was intimidating in a good way!
Also I wish we could find photos for this company’s tea – their site won’t let me steal them! Bah!
I SUPPOSE I could take some of what I have / get but you know it won’t look as good. Oh maybe I will post the ones of the box I posted earlier in the threads. Duah
I just slapped that one I took earlier up for now. Maybe they will get some photos to us if they see more reviews :)
I just looked at White Lion’s site, and wow! It looks beautiful. Between that and your reviews I am going to be cash poor but tea rich. ;-)
Haha sorry about that :) I am sitting here staring at my order ready to hit the button …. SIGH I need to go organize the tea I have now! lol
jessi – if i ever get around to placing an order with them I’ll try to remember to drop you a line. We could do a swap as i have a friend who transports my tea across the border every weekend lol
Unbelievably delicious!
I am buying more NAOW!!!!
Full review on the 7th but here are the snippits:
Cuppa crew may not have the largest list of teas yet, as they are still building their site and tea collection, however what I have tried form them thus far have all been stellar!
I love a really well done strawberry tea. Before this cup, I had two stash staples of strawberry tea. Now I have three! I also love a really good champagne inspired tea. I always have one or two of those in my stash as well. Usually I run into champagne and strawberry blends featuring white tea, but this one is with a lovely Darjeeling black base. First of all, Darjeeling, YES PLEASE! Second of all, who said I can’t have champagne in the morning? Well, Cuppa Crew understands my needs! A wonderful black base of really fine Darjeeling, with a creamy soft strawberry flavor and that sparkling like essence of champagne. I am in heaven!
It is sweet all on its own and does not need any added sugar, or creamer, or anything. All I have to do now is roll out of bed, stick some tea in my strainer, add boiling water, and I am good to go. However I could see this tea making you want to stay in bed just a little longer, dreaming of laying on rose petals with a handsome man or pretty lady next to you. Its a romantic flavored tea and PERFECT for Valentine’s day which is fast approaching!
Right now, Cuppa Crew has a sale going on as well and you better believe I am grabbing some more of this up RIGHT NOW!
Yeah your right – hummmm He may want to reconsider those costs! I wonder if it is a site problem as they are new.
Good heavens, that’s plain ridiculous! I’ll take a look at the shipping estimates immediately.
Thanks!
Full review will be posted on http://sororiteasisters.com/ on the 14th. Here are the snippits:
I am not always impressed with white tea, its a little too mellow for my palate, but this one has some lovely character. I really love the creaminess of this one, along with the lovely light vegetal flavor.
it gives me a feeling of looking into a reflecting pool – just staring into it gazing for that little glimmer of a koi swimming by, or a frog that leaps out unexpectedly from the greenery around the pond. It has its subtle nuances and surprises within the cup. It is also so dreamy, relaxing, and mellow. There is a light spicy note to the sip, like a sparkle of cinnamon on the tip of the tongue. The after taste coats your mouth with the flavor of ginseng and honey!
2012 Fu Ding Ba Cha has many layers of flavors that peek out and keep bringing me back to my magical reflection pool, just now I was sure I tasted something rather smokey. Perhaps it is the haze left behind by the waters as they cool from the setting sun or perhaps it is just the tea cooling a little. Either way this tea is quite dreamy.
I am finding that I like honeybush far more than rooibos. This is a really nice tea with excellent apple crumb cake like flavor. Not so sure about the apricot but that is okay this is a nice yummy cup. I would order this to have around for those late night tea cravings when I really should not have more tea.
I agree with LiberTEAS this is a good pumpkin pie tea.
The tea is very present and the spices are really nice. I would also like a little more pumpkin but overall it is one of the better PP teas I have had :)
Oh man I got a sample of this one from kittenna once… It was delicious….
Haha, I don’t even remember giving you any! If it was via me, though, it was also via Azzrian :)
