I love Oolong!!!!!!
This is a really really good blend of superb Oolong and Jasmine.
Beautiful to look at, wonderful aromas, DELICIOUS flavors!
807 Tasting Notes
Thanks to Dylan and Missy I can not only add a tasting note but pretty much add this as “in my cupboard” with the amount they sent me! Thank you! It is stormy here and “they” say it is going to be one of the worst storms in history – if you don’t see me around that may be why! One of our dogs, our little papillon, shakes like a leaf when it storms and can’t breathe and we need to sedate her. She is already shaking terribly and it is not even thundering yet. ANYWAY point is and was that this is a great tea to curl up on the sofa with! I am going to enjoy it very much and just relax tonight.
Creamy, non astringent, vanilla, waiting for floral to peek out some, we shall see. :)
Thank you Verdant for this lovely sample of which I instantly went and ordered more of!
A lovely wooded flavor with many little surprises along the way!
Light berry notes.
And yes I do like apricot flavored teas – when they are naturally flavored :)
This tea just makes me happy. Reminds me of the Renaissance – woodsy smoky flavors with a light berry undertone which is perfect. Add a little sugar in the raw or not – its great both ways. Wonderful LS base. The berry notes are not over the top.
Very nice – smells like sin – tastes really great too but I had to add a little sugar and milk to make it what I had in mind from the name and smell – still I would buy again it was nice!
Not enough time to do a real review but I give it a thumbs up.
What is wrong with Adagio that they would release this for sale? It tastes as if it was soaked in some really rancid frying grease. Sorry Adagio – I won’t tweet this one but Uggggg I expect better from a middle of the road tea company.
LOVIN IT! Thank you Jason and Steepster Select for my free box of tea!
I am quite enjoying this! Thank you Steepster Select for my free March box!
I agree with some of the comments Ian has made about this tea it does have a bit of a “smokey” musty flavor to it. I am currently working on a longer review for the Tea Review Blog but I will say that so far I am in love with this tea. No it’s not going to be for everyone. I am surprised at the look of the dry leaf – like yerba mate.
Honestly though its more earthy than smoky and I am perplexed by the name having the word “sweet” in it – I do not find this tea to be naturally sweet.
Anyway I am on steep two so we shall see how it evolves. :)
This tea was given to me by a client who is from India. She told me this IS in fact the tea they use to make chai. I have since sent it to a trade buddy who loves Indian black tea.
This is the lowest rating I have ever left for a tea and the only tea I have ever had to dump out but only after gagging on it. I honestly am so so sorry Adagio all of your other teas have been anywhere from good to excellent but this one I just don’t know. Anyone want it?
I won’t even say what it both smelled and tasted like but I see it gets some good to excellent ratings so hey maybe its me.
This is quite yummy! Not the most complex sencha I have ever had but the floral flavor does not kick ya in the face which is good as I am not a huge fan of florals but it is present and very nice to support the yummy cherry flavor that is not cloying at all! Cherry is one of those flavors that is so hit and miss for me! Its pretty right on!
I could see this in my stash again! I used 2 teaspoons as I wanted more flavor and I steeped 2 minutes (recommended 2-3)
This was good. There are some I like better but its not as deep or heavy as many genmaicha – this could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you are looking for but for the summer weather I like it! I could see this being what I drink in the summer and Den’s in the winter!
Fruity, Green – LOVE how the flavors do NOT wipe out the wonderful green tea base! Very impressed. Oh dear I fear this is one I will go through fast :(
Trying a re-steep from earlier today. I wanted so much to log more on this – write a real review – etc but I have felt cruddy all day – just don’t have the energy. Sorry. I don’t even know if Mates can be re-steeped. Need to look that up.
Thank you Fusion for this very lovely mate. Too tired yet to review or rate but I am very much enjoying this morning cup! Will make more notes soon.
Steeped as instructed – love sandalwood so much. This was just NOT okay.
Bitter astringent – wonder what I did wrong. It seems like the flavors were there … but I fear I messed it up somehow. I mean I could taste the POTENTIAL … hummm
Its very good – I just wish so much that it were far spicer!
Sweet pepper tasting more than jalapeno but excellent flavorings very natural fresh and from the garden tasting!
Love this one. I prefer oolongs, greens, and white teas and this is my favorite black so far that is naturally flavored! Thank you Teavivre for this sample. On my shopping list for sure!
Writing a review for this and throughly enjoying the cup. On second steep and just as lovely and can go many many more steeps.
I am not much on floral teas but this one is a spring and summer MUST!
Mmmmmmmmmmm
No notes yet.
Another sample from Krystaleyn – thank you so much!
Well you know – its not to MY personal liking so much – its not bad its just not something I would run out to buy. It was great in all the ways people have said. I just was MEH about it.
I have been in a weird mood lately though I am refraining from leaving a rating. Nothing has tasted very good to me today.
humm not sure what went wrong. Prepared exactly the same was as last time. It was bitter, seemed to have some strange aftertaste perhaps from an unknown sweetening agent.
Was not impressed and such a DRASTIC change from my last note. Odd.
Lowering rating. Maybe I have evolved. LOL
Mine is a spring 2011 tea but it is SO wonderful. It is amazing the difference between a quality cup of tea and, well, others lol. My husband loved this and sat drinking with me and that is a rare occasion – for someone who rarely drinks tea and knows nothing about it he is a total tea snob! At least he knows a good cup though!
Buttery, slightly floral but not so much as I don’t usually care for floral teas, and vegetal but not overly so this is one I really adore!
Thanks Life in Teacup for the sample!
Wow that was unexpected. Got a sample of this from Krystaleyn and tucked it away for several days. Just brewed it up tonight. It went RIGHT onto my shopping list.
This is the first Davids Tea that has totally wowed me and taken me by surprise.
