1 Tasting Note
I’m not a huge fan of coconut but, mmm, the dry leaf smells really amazing – a strong creamy, sweet coconut aroma. I knew I had to take some of this home with me when I smelled it in-store, when the Spring 2013 Collection came out. I can smell more of the oolong now in the brewed tea. The coconut is still strong but balances the oolong very nicely. It doesn’t smell as sweet as the dry leaf anymore.. Instead, I smell the coconut plus the green notes of the oolong. The coconut doesn’t smell artificial to me, but it smells more like dry, coconut shavings rather than the real thing. Raw coconut has a very fresh smell, whereas this tea doesn’t. Still, the scent is intoxicating!
This tea is delicious, the taste is strong on the coconut. It tastes almost exactly like toasted coconut at first and then the oolong rounds it off. The taste is rich, nutty, and green and it’s smooth. It’s not as sweet as it smells in the dry leaf.
I’m really liking this! I think this tea is perfect for the warm weather that we’re finally having. Hot, it’s very comforting but I think I’m going to have to try this iced with lemon and honey.
