i placed a teeny tiny order fr. Angelina’s tea mostly with mini tuo puerh. while I was browsing on a site I noticed this blend which sounded so right to me nowdays. i have cravings for bold flavored teas. in the same time they shouldn’t be artificial tasting. well, let me tell you, this tea tastes like Sheridan’s. OMG, i love Sheridan’s . unfortunately you can purchase it only if you go Caribbean. But if you want to cut expenses you can order this wonderful puerh fr Angelina’s for $1.6/oz. . I feel bad that ordered only an oz, but I have a feeling i cannot resist another order.
Thank you Angelina’s tea.

I cannot even imaging the taste of it with cream and sugar

ps i rinsed briefly, i always rinse Puerh even if its flavored

Flavors: Caramel, Vanilla

this is a sample from very generous ifjuly . Thank you so much!
I decided to try it today, its last day for free ship on GMT. I have this sample for a awhile but wanted to sample just before placing the order.
The leaves are gorgeous long black twisty its hard to measure with a spoon so I dump the whole sample, my guess at least 5-6g. 8oz boil 3min steep
produced dark golden brew. the taste is strong of honey and roast. i say roasted buckwheat drizzled with buckwheat honey. very smooth. I love it. as I read other ppl reviews complaining about pale color and not enough taste i came to conclusion that they underleaved it. Seriously, this tea is nothing short of flavor. Havent noticed any flowers, it reminds me more of Laoshan Black smell. Cocoa, honey, roasted buckweat.
2nd steep. @ 4min less honey, still roasty and some rye bread notes.
I’m sold. if ifjuly wouldn’t give me a sample I really dont know if i blind buy it. its not cheap and not offered as a sample.
Thank you ifjuly for being you!

Sounds amazing :D

this sounds terrific! thank you for your nuanced description :)

ifjuly

I’m so glad you like it! I think a lot of people who’ve tried it because I went on about how much I like it feel disappointed—it’s a little delicate maybe?—so I’m glad you could taste the honey, yum.

And I know what you mean about it. It’s hard to get—hidden on the site, and sometimes they don’t have any in stock when I’ve ordered it—and definitely not cheap. Alas. It’s one of my “I’ve been really good and it’s been a terrible day” treat teas. (:

DeliriumsFrogs

I’ve gotta put this at the top of my ‘future order from Golden Moon Tea’ list…. it sounds fantastic! I love your description of it all…I could see and smell everything. :)

ifjuly

DeliriumsFrogs, i’ve got some i can send you to try! it’s way pricey so try before you buy is a good thing in this case. i will throw it in the “send to DF someday” pile.

boychik

Thank you DeliriumsFrogs. its hard to describe this complex tea, but i tried:) ifjuly is better at descriptions <3

Very nice and satisfying cup of Assam came to me from ifjuly. Thank you !
1tsp 205F 3min 8oz
This tea is very smooth and on a milder side which means its perfect without additives. Floral, malty, with a touch of honey. Some muscatel flavors and stone fruits could be detected, nothing over the top. I think its perfect as afternoon tea.
I’m glad i had a chance to try it. i’m sure i will pick up some once there is some promo from Capital tea ltd.

Flavors: Honey, Malt, Stonefruit

i’m on a quest for a new fav Assam. This sample came to me from very generous and spontaneous ifjuly. Thank you!!!
205F 1tsp 8 oz 2.45 min produced golden delicious tea. it has Darjeeling floral-fruity notes. very smooth and not bitter. some malt but not over the top.
its important to me since I rarely add milk or sugar. This tea is elegant and i’m sure would be great as an afternoon tea.
Thank you ifjuly for helping me to discover new teas. i have a lot to sample

i am also on the same quest …. the perfect assam with milk and sugar… have you tried the Teabox Assam sampler? Due to the shipping, I’m a bit hesitant….but it looks brilliant…

boychik

No, ihaven’t. I did order some Assam samples from Upton. its a perfect way to try anything in small amounts. I dont order samplers sets but individual samples based on description and reviews. 12g is enough to make a decision:)

It’s excellent cold brewed as well. So I’m going to buy it and can cold steep it in summer.
