This was a great Saturday breakfast tea. I love this teas richness! With a little splash of milk it tastes kind of like a fancy coffee drink. I find myself craving it all the time. In my opinion thats the mark of a good tea.
392 Tasting Notes
I can’t remember when I had this to be honest…a few days ago I think. I have been crazy swamped with school stuff before spring break starts so its been a lot of bagged tea and old staples the past few weeks.
Anyway, the smell of this tea blew me away. It literally smells identical to a chocolate covered strawberry. I doubt I could tell the difference if I did a direct comparison. It smells juicy and delicious. I am always a little wary when a tea has a steep time of under 2 minutes, mostly because I would much rather have an oversteeped tea than an understeeped one. But I was good and followed the instructions and I am glad I did. It came out the perfect combination or strawberry, chocolate, and an earthy flavor that I am assuming is the Puer. It was delicious. This one is gonna have to go on my mental shopping list :)
This was the other tea I got with my Tavalon Tea of the Month Club. I am having a nice cup after my morning class. It is very fresh and clean tasting. It is a lovely tea. It reminds me of spring :)
For some reason I got another shipment of my Tavalon Tea of the month club on Saturday. Its only every other month and I got one at the end of January. It must have just come early this month, but I’m not complaining :)
I decided to try this one out last night after a nice dinner out with my boyfriend (mmm…Ethiopian food). I made a little pot of it and it was quite delicious. It was a very nice after-dinner tea. It is soothing and has a nice hint of vanilla that isn’t overwhelming but is definitely present.
I had a cup of this with breakfast in honor of Valentine’s Day! Now if only I had a chocolate tea to mix it with…
Decided to have some of this earlier tonight. Needed an energy boost after a long weekend. I wish tomorrow wasn’t Monday.
Had an opportunity to try this tea this weekend. I decided to steep it in hot milk to make kind of a gingerbread latte. It wasn’t very strong but that was probably due to the milk. I was definitely getting a gingerbread flavor! It was nice a warming on a chilly February afternoon.
Made a pot of this last night and put it in the fridge so I could have a nice glass of iced tea before I head off to class.
P.S. I got distracted while steeping this and it steeped for 10 minutes at least and it still tastes awesome. I love when teas are forgiving :) Although this tea is probably helped out by the fact that there is no actual tea in it – haha.
This was my other tea this month from tavalon. I am always on the look out for a good breakfast tea. I have alway loved Irish breakfasts, and one of my favorites is Oxford breakfast, and now I have NYC breakfast :)
It is a nice bold black tea with fruity undertones. I had a cup the other day for breakfast and it was delicious and I just had a cup a little bit ago with a splash of milk and some cookies and it really hit the spot. This is a really solid cup of tea!
I decided to have some of this this with breakfast this morning. I was looking for some motivation to get some homework done today so I can watch the Superbowl tomorrow (Go Packers!!).
I think it helped a little – regardless it was yummy.
I wanted jasmine tea but I also wanted black tea – enter this lovely cuppa :)
I love this tea! I just received my latest shipment of my Tavalon tea of the month club and it was this tea and NY breakfast (review for that to come). And I love this tea! I started out by trying a cup hot and it was so fruity and delicous I couldn’t wait to try it iced.
To back track a little. This tea smells like fruit snacks, big time. I really liked scooby doo and loony toons fruit snacks when I was little so the sent made me smile. Now I was afraid that this tea would be quite sour (despite its sweet smell) because it is made of blood orange and cranberry. And it is a little sour BUT definitely not as sour as most fruity teas. It doesn’t have that in your face, puckered up face sour flavor. Instead the sour is quite refreshing and prevents the blend from being too sweet cause it definitely has some sweet notes. Its more sweet than sour hot and more sour than sweet cold.
I think I actually like it better hot than cold which I was surprised about. Although the cold version is nice and refreshing (and reminds me of spring in this icky winter weather NJ has been getting).
Okay I am rambling, but this tea is awesome.
I had this today with lunch (a Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich). This is very sweet and more milk than tea but it is still yummy. It has a primary flavor of ginger with a background of cinnamon and cloves. I really quite enjoy it, but you really can’t taste the tea part.
My classes got canceled this morning so I got to sleep in til 10:30 (yay). I decided to have a cup of this to celebrate seeing as its one of my favorites. I have found that the creme flavors comes out more in this if I prepare it at green tea like temps and steep it for 6 minutes. Unfortunately I got distracted and steeped it for 7 minutes so its a little bitter but I salvaged it with a splash of milk.
I was about 3 sips into this when I dropped the cup :( yesterday morning. It was only bagged tea I picked up before class but lost tea is lost tea. Not to mention I was tired and thirsty all morning
I am having this tea to reward myself for finally finishing my homework!!! It smells awesome. Thank you brandy3392 for supplying all my tea for the day!
I had this tea at 3pm with cookies as a homework break. I don’t really enjoy hibiscus but I don’t hate it either and I liked its combination with darjeeling here. It really gave the tea a berry feel. Plus it gets bonus points for reminding me of a tea my mom used to make me in middle school.
I had this tea at 11:30am before starting my epic day of homework. I thought the caffeine boost would be needed and the name seemed appropriate.
It tastes a lot like there Awake tea (which I enjoy) but with orange flavoring. I enjoyed it!
I am the first one to log this! I’m surprised. I got this tea spice for Christmas and decided to test it out last night. I made stir fried broccoli spiced with this and I put it over rice prepared in green tea. I am not sure how much I could taste all the green tea that was in the meal but it sure was yummy!
I got this in a swap with brandy3392 – thanks!! I just got my package yesterday and decided to break into it this morning. I like the idea of a black tea with jasmine. I think I might decrease the steep time next time i make this tea because it was a little bitter but definitely not undrinkable. Also the bitterness went well with my maple quaker squares. I think this is a really solid breakfast tea with an interesting twist of jasmine. I definitely enjoyed this cup.
I had a cup of this today after my last class of my first week of classes. I also brought a cup with me to class earlier in the week. It is quite yummy. I have been finding myself craving this tea lately. I really like the fruity blueberry flavor combined with the creamy vanilla – mmm.
Had a nice cup of this with some cookies after a very icy and wet first day of classes. I figured chai would be the perfect way to warm up and this really hit the spot. Not to mention the much needed caffeine.
I got a blender for Christmas and I had to christen it with a malted chocomate milkshake. I didn’t have as much ice cream as I thought so it was a little watery but other than that definitely worth a repeat!
Had 2 cups of this with some cookies after a nice lunch with my parents. Sometimes being on vacation from school is wonderful :)
I love this tea. I am so sad that I won’t be able to buy more.
