392 Tasting Notes
Drinking this while fighting with the scanner at work…Caffeine much need – the person who lives below me has taken to blasting music at 7am for the past few days. Yes my alarm was set for 7:15 but I wanted my 15 minutes! Grr!
Anyway about the tea. Its okay. Since I have no control over the water temp sometimes this tea comes out rich with a wonderful honey note and sometimes a little flat and dry. Today is a flat and dry day, but like I said I need the caffeine. And I have lots of lovely tea to drink when I get home and lots of lovely new tea-ware to do it in!
I have always been curious about the wellness collection from republic of tea, but I have never known which one to try, luckily my lovely boyfriend got me the wellness tea of the month club and this was the first tea.
This smells wonderful, especially for a health/medicinal tea. It smells spicy and a bit like cedar. I think that I under steeped it a bit (I steeped it for around 5 minutes and the package says 5-7). I think I would like to try it at 7 for a bit more strength but I could tell that this has the potential to have a very flavorful tea. I could also see how this would definitely make a sore-throat better. It was a very relaxing cup!
This is my second tea from my Tavalon Tea of the Month Club (the first being After Dark) and no one has logged this one either!!
I thought t his would be a good to try yesterday to perk up the coldest day of winter thus far. I made a pot while rushing off to class. I don’t think I made it exactly right because it was a little weak, but from what I could taste it has a very nice green tea taste with a hint of fruitiness. Due to my poor making of this tea and the fact that I drank it quickly and on the go, I am going to forgo rating it now but I am looking forward to the rest of the pot in my fridge as well as having another go at preparing it.
I had this the other day – Wednesday I think whilst moving around furniture in my apartment. I thought I wasn’t a big fan of Jasmine flavored tea but I was wrong! This tea was quite delicious! It was nice a sweet and scented heavily with jasmine and had nice green tea notes too. It also has this hint of something in the background that reminds me of the fillings of Valentine’s Day candies. I look forward to having more of it!
I just got so much tea!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!! Happy Dance!!! My boyfriend decided to give me some of my christmas presents early and I got not one but TWO tea of the month clubs!!! How awesome is he???
I decided to try this one first because it looked so bizarre! I am also drinking it in my new get relaxed mug that came with one of my tea of the month clubs!
This is my first ever tavalon tea. Their packaging looks very fancy :) This tea seriously looks like trail mix. HUGE dried cranberries!!! Dry it smells very fruity!
It tastes kind of like broth. Now that might sound like a bad thing but its really not. I am digging the savory feel with a hint of tartness in the background. As it is cooling it is morphing into a less savory and more tart fruity tea. Either way I really like it. It is very relaxing and I can see this as being a great tea to have at night after being out in the snow all day. I am surprised no one has logged this before!!
I got this tea as a sample for following Numi on Twitter. I am a little scared on Puerh and I had never tried it before, but I must say that I am very glad I got this sample because this is one of the best chocolate teas I have ever had.
The tea did have kind of a weird earthy smell and I don’t think I would want to drink it cold but when hot this tea has a wonderful depth. The chocolate flavor has so many rich dimensions that I could swear I was drinking something bad for me.
I had this tea plain but it had a wonderfully creamy and sweet essence. There was also a lovely hint of cinnamon in the background that really enhanced the flavor. I am definitely gonna have to get myself some of this in the future!
I won this in a contest on Steepster! Thanks!!
I made a pot of this the other day. It was quite good lemony and refreshing. I also tried this iced which wasn’t as impressive, but this is really a sold lemon black tea1
Backlogging this from Wednesday… Wednesday here was a positively miserable day. It started out 61 and raining and horribly windy (yes 61 in December). Then progressed to sideways rain that soaks you through then dropped to about 40 by mid-day in case being soaked wasn’t bad enough. Needless to say when I got home I needed some tea!!! I made this with my chai honey and milk – I put too much honey in since I don’t really like my tea sweet but it was soothing and warming.
Okay – I made the most amazing iced latte today! First off I made a pot of tea last night of this tea combined with 52 Teas Heath Bar Tea. I find both of them to be a little lacking in the chocolate department so I figured if I mixed them I would really get a chocolate kick! The hot version was pretty good and chocolately, the iced plain version was chocolatier yet and then the iced latte was just pure chocolate goodness!
I took about 8 oz of the iced tea and then I took some Smart Balance milk (about 3oz) and I added a bit of chocolate syrup to the milk. Then I used my milk frother to froth the chocolate milk and then mixed it into the ice tea.
It was pure wonderfulness, I could really taste the maltiness from this tea and a bit of the tofee/caramelesque undertones from the Heath Bar tea. I think I will use up the rest of both of these teas in this manner.
