121 Tasting Notes

Coco Chai Rooibos from DAVIDsTEA
19

So this is day three of my advent calendar. I am not the biggest fan of chai, so I wasn’t particularily excited to try it out. The smell was part rooibos/ part chai… and same with the taste. I was actually fine with the taste. That was until my stomach started hurting really bad. So I have figured that the worst thing of chai tea is that my stomach doesnt like it.

Chocolate Rocket from DAVIDsTEA
37

So I’m onto day 2 of the Dsvid’s Tea advent calendar. I brewed up some chocolate rocket. Since I tried the cocoa canela before and was dissapointed with the lack of chocolate flavour in it, I though chocolate rocket may be the answer to my prayers. Unfrotuneately, I don’t think I like chocolate rocket too much. The smell was meh for me. and the taste was okie. I mean nothing like ewww won’t ever drink this again and not like omg I loved it. It’s just meh.

St Petersburg from Kusmi Tea
93

Had some of this while watching tv tonight. I love just sipping this tea everytime I have it because it’s like having a liquid hug. And since nights are getting colder, I could use a few more hugs.

Buttered Rum (organic) from DAVIDsTEA
91

So today I am having a (late) start to my advent calendar. I have opened the teas up till todays date, but today is the first tea I’m drinking. I love buttered rum, so kudos to David’s Tea to start their advent calendar with such a awesome tea. Today I decided to put some milk with my buttered rum. So nice and soothing.

Buttered Rum (organic) from DAVIDsTEA
91

So this is what made me have no tea for about a week. Beofre you start bashing my fave tea… let me explain better. So last week I got sick and had to take gross antibiotics, so the mixture of the two made me lose my sense of taste and sense of smell. On Staruday, Iwas more than overjoyed to begin my 24 days of tea-venture only to find out that I couldn’t smell the wonder that is buttered rum and its lovely taste.

Earl Grey from Tim Hortons
82

So I had this tea yesterday to fight off my cold/ whatever this is. It was so soothing and relaxing drinking this tea. Really one of my faves.

Santa's Secret from DAVIDsTEA
91

So I have been drinking this tea this weekend and monday and tuessday since I bought a tin last week. I will need to get another of these tins before the hoildays are done. I just love the candy cane smell of this tea and the candy cane and black tea taste. I couldn’t have any today because I ran out in my travel contianer.

Lady Grey from Twinings
80

SO this is a good staple tea for me. It is the lighter version of earl grey and very soothing. I had this tea this weekend to ward off the sore throat and it semi-worked.

Superberry (organic) from DAVIDsTEA
85

So I managed to go to David’s Tea last friday and got some nice stuff, such as a speical tin of Santa’s Secret and a cup of Superberry. I was looking to try something I didn’t have yet and so as per one of the helpful recommendations of my helpful sales associate, I settled on this tea. The smell was invinting and slightly reminded me of Blueberry Jam tea. I also enjoyed the taste of this tea. Looks like my next visit at David’s Tea will include getting a tin of this tea.

Earl Grey Tea from Second Cup
77

Had this scrumptious tea lat week on friday for breakfast. It woke me up nicely and the taste was sublime.

Earl Grey from Tim Hortons
82

The past two days have crazy and I didn’t really have time to steep my own tea, so I have been devoted to Tim Hortin’s Earl Grey. No problem here, it my first love tea-wise, the drink that started my love of tea, so to have it’s comfort and aroma in my time of stress and busyness is just perfect. I love getting the large one because I can refil it later and it will taste just as awesome, a real deal.

The Earl of Lemon from DAVIDsTEA
89

So I felt like having this tea last night while tutoring. It was like having tea and a treat together, I mean tea itself is a treat, but this tea is like the ultimate treat for me.

Santa's Secret from DAVIDsTEA
91

So I decided to try a holiday tea went to went to David’s Tea yesterday. I like this one, light in the minty flavor and it’s a black tea. he aroma was purely Christmas.

Toasted Marshmallow from DAVIDsTEA
87

I made a pot of this with my fiancee this weekend. It was his frist time trying this tea and he rather liked it. I am running really low on this one sadly :(. It was nice drinking this and watching a movie on TV.

Earl Grey from Tim Hortons
82

Honestly a classic for me, this brings me back to the early tea days, it`s all I would drink, earl grey just black. I love this one. There is just something nostalgic about it whenever I drink this tea, it brings me comfort and happy memories. The smell/aroma is just heavenly and the taste is sublime.

Orange Blossom from Tazo
74

So this tea is growing on me. I got this again today while on campus. It is a good tasting tea. Yumm.

Jasmine from Second Cup
71

So second cup didn’t have any Earl Grey today, so I decided to try out their jasmine tea. Its pretty good for a bagged jasmine tea, no complaints here, wasn’t overpowering. I like the smell of the tea, through I wish the scent were just a bit more stronger. The smell of jasmine is so inviting.

Orange Blossom from Tazo
74

So its not my fave, but not the worst tea that I have tried. I like it even a bit better than Refresh, though that one is still good as well. This tea doesn’t have any particular scent, or really any at all, or I’m coming down with a cold, not sure, but I didn’t smell anything. I decided to try this one as per the recommendation of a friend, it’s not bad, considering it is a TAZO, and for some reason I usually just cannot tolerate TAZO teas. But this one is pretty tolerable, it is not overpowering like the rest of the teas in this company ( that I’ve tried). I would have this again if forced to buy a drink at starbucks. The taste is subtle, but then again I barely had the bag in due to the fact that TAZO teas seem to steep really fast and leave bitter tastes. So I literally had it in for like a minute and it tasted fine.

Silk Dragon Jasmine (organic) from DAVIDsTEA
92

I really love this tea. Bought it this summer. My fave way to drink it?? as a latte, which is what I did today. This is how I tried this tea the first time, so maybe that’s why I love it so much. Really my go-to latte drink when I’m at home.

Buttered Rum (organic) from DAVIDsTEA
91

Had a glass of this delightful tea today. One of my fave black teas from David’s.

Cocomint Cream from DAVIDsTEA
83

Along with my pot of Green and Fruity last night, I decided to have a mug of Cocomint Cream. And what a delight it was, it was like having an ice cream dessert. Yumm.

Green & Fruity from DAVIDsTEA
100

I had this tea last night in a pot, and decided to have a few glasses of it with milk. I was thinking it would be gross, but it was far from it. I really like that I took a chance and tried something new. Cold, hot or with milk, Green and Fruity is a delightful tea. And perfect for the night so I am not super-cafinated before bed.

Toasted Marshmallow from DAVIDsTEA
87

So I decided to make a pot of this today… and what a fine choice it was:) It is so much fun to pour the water over these leaves and watch the marshmallows dissolve. This tea was so perfect to drink while I was doing homework today. It is a mixture of black and some subtle sweetness from the marshmallows. Going to have to buy a tin of this.

Green from Higgins & Burke
11

This summer I wanted to try another tea at Mickey Dee’s and was in a green kick, so I said why not. Why did I drink this tea? It tasted so putrid and bitter, and just all kinds of gross and yuck.I will not drink this tea again.

Bio

I recently have been fighting of sickness after sickness, but I am back and can fully appreciate my tea once again ! I started writing a tea journal to keep a log of all my teas, since I cannot be on here everyday. So I will have more in-depth notes for future tea logs. I recently bought a tea book to learn all things tea, which includes how to properly taste tea…. so as I keep reading this beautiful work, I will learn the new vocabulary in all things tea-tasting!!!

Tea enthusiast, I love all things tea. Hot, iced or in a food of mine… if it’s tea, I love it. I have a fascination with tea and the many wonderful flavours I just haven’t gotten around to yet. I have recently fallen head over heels with two different tea companies. One is Canadian, David’s Tea, so I’m showing my national pride. The other is called Kusmi Tea, which originated in Russia, but is now in France.

I love mostly black and green teas ( preferably jasmine). I am always willing to try new teas. I have dabbled in rooibos, and white. I am not the biggest fan of herbal teas.
