1772 Tasting Notes

This tea is good, but not mind-blowing. Maybe I’m jaded? I drank some favorites earlier so it’s hard to compete with that… This is a pleasant black/green mix with a bit of strawberry jam flavoring that I like, but it’s nothing I could live without. I wouldn’t refuse it though. It’s good. It’s just hard to compete with all the exceptional teas out there.

Thanks Sil for letting me try it!
And I’m at 160!!!
(I might go back up when my Butiki order arrives, but I don’t think it’s even shipped yet so I have time!)

go go gadget sipdowns!

:P I’m hoping I can push my numbers down steadily so that when you go to US and buy like crazy, we’ll meet in the middle!

(162) I enjoyed this with breakfast this morning. I like it – it’s dark and roasty – but I couldn’t tell you what makes it different from the one i bought from Teavivre!

I wasn’t that impressed with this one either. The Da Hong Pao from Whispering Pines, on the other hand, is a whole different story.

Really? I’ll have to remember that!

drank After Dark by Steam Tea House

(163) I already miss this tea, and I haven’t even finished my cup. :P
Also, I’m sorta impressed that I’m down to 163 teas. I haven’t been focusing on sipdowns lately but I guess I’m in the habit of reaching for teas who are nearly done as I alternate between absolute favorites, and trying smaller samples. It should be easy to hit 150 this month, even with the 9 teas from Butiki I have incoming!

You are almost equal with me! I am at 157 and have had no tea in days because of my cold.

Awww. That’s so depressing! Hope you feel better soon! :|

Thank you! I am actually feeling okay. Now it’s just a matter of waiting for the taste to come back.

I can’t taste or smell anything right now either. It’s the worst! All this tea and no ability to enjoy it!

drank Cherry Snowcone by DAVIDsTEA
1772 tasting notes

(164) I couldn’t remember drinking this one before, so I cold-steeped it for the evening. And I like it. It’s cherry – very tart and not too sweet – yet somehow it does convey the cherry snowcone thing that it was going for. I think it’s because they totally NAILED the cherry.

I’m happy I tried it, but I’m not convinced I want more. Maybe if it’s on sale at the end of the season?

I was stalking DavidsTea’s Facebook page the other day and I think the Fall teas arrive August 26th, which means they’ll phase the summer teas out….just FYI. ;)

Oh, that’s awesome news! I have 100g in Free Tea,, so it’d be great if I could use the on the new teas before my points expire!

Wow! 100g! That’s awesome!

I ended up buying a lot of teaware and gifts, so that was pretty awesome.

Everyone else is drinking this so I did too because I remembered how great it is. It’s totally great. LIQUiD FUDGE

And another win from TTC! This tea is full-bodied with a lot of depth to it. I’m getting juicy plum, cinnamon and something darker/richer with each sip. It’s a wonderfully heavy tea for such a moody/dark day.

drank Cotton Candy by DAVIDsTEA
1772 tasting notes

(166) It’s Sil’s fault that I finished this today because we were talking about it so I thought about it, and now it’s gone. No rush to buy more bc it’s so insanely artificially sweet, but it was fun while I had it!

(Well… maybe 20g more?)

Lariel of Lórien

I forgot to get some today.

The smoke in this is quite acceptable. I’m getting chocolate and raisins and campfire all mixed up in one. It’s good. Yep. Good.

drank Chaud Les Marrons! by Lupicia

Sil said a few things about how she loved this tea to make me think that maybe I should give it another chance as I was fairly indifferent about it. I waited for a cool day and tried it, and it was good. I’m still not nuts about nutty teas, but they’re good to have around for the occasional craving!

I love it as a chestnut tea….there are other teas I love more…if that makes sense

Totally! But when you want chestnut, that’s the one!

I think I preferred their green chestnut without the chocolate, which is strange because you’d think adding chocolate to anything would be a win.

I liked it a lot when I tried it.

Tea: I just started drinking loose tea in the fall of 2012, and once I started I had to get more and more and try ALL THE TEAS. Joining Steepster made this worse/easier.

So far it seems that I prefer unflavoured black teas, although I still drink a few that are flavoured each day too. Oolongs, greens, puerhs and white teas are all very good, but I just don’t crave them as often.

Me: Ok. Random things. I like animals, I have a baby girl and a devoted bf, and … I’m a geek. I like Lord of the Rings, Sherlock, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Supernatural, pen&paper RPG’s, online RPG’s, video games, silly internet memes, puzzles and a bunch of others things! I taught myself to knit and I’m considering crochet but I need to make time for all these things!

1-50: Bleh.
51-64: It’s ok.
65-75: It’s good.
76-85: It’s very good. (Buy 1oz+)
86-100: Amazing. (ALWAYS re-stock)
