1766 Tasting Notes
This one was from VariaTEA and it’s so amazing and tasty and refreshing. I need to try more from this company!
It’s a white tea, and yes. I think I can detect the base below all those fresh fruity flavours. The base is slightly earthier and provides a nice balance. The rhubarb and strawberry are the most noticeable fruit flavours but I could just sit and sip this one for ages based on that alone.
I don’t drink many whites, but I can tell this blend was done right.
This sample was from BrewTEAllySweet! This is a tea I’ve been curious about, so I’m happy to have had the chance.
It definitely smells like bluberry… Yum. As for the taste? I get mostly blueberry, with a hint of (imagined?) vanilla, and then a little bit of the black base beneath. I’m not getting a lot of chocolate, but that sweetness can be what makes me think of vanilla. It’s a pretty relaxing cup for a Friday afternoon!
I do enjoy these teas from Justea, but the base is so odd, isn’t it? It’s really it’s own thing. it’s almost a sour richness or something to it that sounds terrible, and could very nearly be terrible, yet is actually good when you adjust to it.
Huh. I’m not selling this to you guys am I? :P I shouldn’t have let it cool so much before I reviewed it!
And this cup of Movie Night has been brought to me through VariaTEA! Thank you!
It’s close to bed so I might be taking a risk on this, but TBF there’s like 5% tea in this so I can’t see it giving me any kind of a jolt! It was great though. I drank it while watching Cowboys Vs. Aliens which was pretty much as awful as I’d expected but it was on Netfli and met the barest minimum of entertainment. :P
This tea did better. I like it.
So I just drank Mandala’s Special Dark yesterday, so today may have been a bad time to try this. It just tastes like puerh. Good puerh. Maybe even great. But it’s not blow-my-mind with your earthiness and super rich chocolate notes.
It’s earth. It’s dark. It doesn’t taste like dirt. I could drink a fair bit of this, but I think I’ll pass the rest to Sil!
Sipdown! (143) I drank a cup of this with dinner, and the rest of it (a pitcher) is going into the fridge to cool down for the kiddo to drink later on.
I steeped it for 6 minutes and for some reason it’s NOT overly sour. I was worried about the hibiscus, but… it’s ok? I don’t think I’d buy any more though. Especially with Teavana’s recent customer service fiasco. I still haven’t got confirmation that my order is cancelled yet and I placed the request 5 days ago. If they actually ship it out to me, I will send it back to them unopened. :|
Anyway, this was ok.
So Dexter3657 drank this yesterday and got me thinking about it, and since they don’t need me at work today it is TOTALLY the right choice to drink this one today while I can enjoy it. (Aside from the sick hubby and toddler who need attention. :P)
I’m taking a Special Dark break!
The first time I had this I followed the instructions and steeped it for 30 seconds, but this time I went right for 4. Maybe next time I will go for 8. I didn’t realize this one couldn’t be oversteeped but you can’t blame me for being hesitant! If I did this to one of my favourite blacks it would likely be too bitter and strong at the end.
This, on the other hand, at 4 minutes is quite rich and dark. And yes, very chocolatey. I almost want to rip open my 85% emergency-use-only chocolate bar just to compare the different types of chocolate, but I’d better save that for an emotional pick-me-up. This cuppa has made me happy enough already!
Yes. This is complete proof that Puerh ISN’T something to be afraid of! I can do it! I can enjoy it! Also, this makes me want to put in an order at Mandala to see what else they can do with Puerh!
