drank Phoenix Pearl by Zen Tea

Hmmm. This just doesn’t taste as rich as I remember. I wonder if it’s because I’ve had so many dragon pearls and I expect more, or I’ve just let this cup cool too much.

Quite note: We’re running out the door and I needed a boost so I drank some of this with milk, whipped up. It was GREAT. Just, great! It was sweet and popcorny and for some reason that didn’t make THIS an odd combo.

(Mmmmm… love it)

drank Bubblegum Matcha by Red Leaf Tea
1700 tasting notes

Backlog: This is one of the matcha’s I won and wow. It’s unusual? Once I got past how strange it is to drink bubblegum, I enjoyed it, but it was still weird as a latte!

whoa…does sound interesting!

This is the perfect cup to start my day! I risked overleafing to make sure the caramel vanilla notes came through perfectly, and it worked!

It’s been a busy weekend with family visiting so my notes have been short, but I expect to be back to regular note posting soon! Also, I want to try all the exciting samples from JustJames, but need to give it a little more time to make sure I can dedicate the time and frame of mind required to trying them!

Haha this is what I started my day with too. Nice choice!

drank Choconut Oolong by DAVIDsTEA
1700 tasting notes

I’m totally distracted by the Licorice. I still get liquid Nutella, belt the end-sip just makes it weird.

I, uhh, returned mine.

Too bad about the licorice – it sounds good otherwise.

LOL. I’m happy you were able to return yours, but it’s just not worth the trouble for me to go back. I’ve only got one or two cups left.

And Caile – it’s nearly great, which makes this frustrating. Maybe if I steep it less the licorice will be more subtle.

I couldn’t deal with the couple cups I had left! I’m so glad they took them back. The sales person was rather confused that I’d want to..

I bought this as a latte today, and OMG. It’s great. I wish mine tasted this good at home. I need to figure it out…

I looked at the advent calendars too, but didn’t think it’d be worth it for $35. I think I probably would have tried the ones they put in it, so that would take all the fun out.

mariage freres! spend 35$ on that instead! see my post on FB:)

I find they never taste as good at home. I had a pumkin spice latte from DT and could not make it the same way at home

I’m probably gonna buy the DT tree ornaments again this year, the 3pack. They’re just so pretty!

drank Alpine Punch by DAVIDsTEA
1700 tasting notes

When my pack of Ceylon Star came in, I got a sample of this and had to try it because Roswell Strange told me they heard, “The blend was changed for Alpine Punch. They added black pepper and also upped the amount of coconut in the blend by a significant amount.”

I like coconut, so I was excited. I’m not sure if I recognize a difference because it’s been so long since I had not, but I think this tastes much better than I remembered.

drank Birthday Cake by Butiki Teas
1700 tasting notes

I’m 3/4 through this pack now. It’s nice, but I wish the flavour were a tad stronger. It sounds like this one may be discontinued, and I don’t mind that at all because that’ll make room for something else. :)

drank Raspberry Truffle by Butiki Teas
1700 tasting notes

:D :D :D

I’ll have to make sure I reorder this as soon as I run out.

I have to try this one. Do you think that paper bags would kill the flavour? I don’t like using my baskets for raspberry teas, as my friend is SO allergic.

ooooooh. um. yeah.

Didn’t Stacy say she was pulling the plug on this one? I could be wrong but I remember somewhere she was saying she was toying with the idea of retiring some blends and this was one of them.

Found it. I don’t know how to do the link thing on the iPad because all the links are the same, steepster.com ?!? But in her review of the Taiwanese mountain it says “The top contenders to be axed are the Raspberry Truffle, Strawberry Oolong, and the Mint Oolong”

Ohhhhh, thanks for the heads up!

Terri HarpLady

Better place a big order, Cavo!

she proabably needs like 8oz.. snicker

Hopefully it won’t disappear before I have more tea money again!!

LOL. I can’t do 8 oz of EVERYTHING. /0\ Hey, Sil – want some Ceylon Star? Yeah you do!

uh no. my taste buds say NO to ceylon star (sorry SB!)

:P More for meeeeeee!
(I really like anise, it turns out)

i like anise! just didn’t love that blend

Tea: I just started drinking loose tea in the fall of 2012, and once I started I had to get more and more and try ALL THE TEAS. Joining Steepster made this worse/easier.

So far it seems that I prefer unflavoured black teas, although I still drink a few that are flavoured each day too. Oolongs, greens, puerhs and white teas are all very good, but I just don’t crave them as often.

Me: Ok. Random things. I like animals, I have a baby girl and a devoted bf, and … I’m a geek. I like Lord of the Rings, Sherlock, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Supernatural, pen&paper RPG’s, online RPG’s, video games, silly internet memes, puzzles and a bunch of others things! I taught myself to knit and I’m considering crochet but I need to make time for all these things!

1-50: Bleh.
51-64: It’s ok.
65-75: It’s good.
76-85: It’s very good. (Buy 1oz+)
86-100: Amazing. (ALWAYS re-stock)
