Certainly not the best Earl Grey I’ve had, but it is the only Earl Grey that I have. I do find the teavana brewing suggestions to not make any sort of drinkable cup, and brew with my usual earl Grey timings and temps, boiling for four minutes, and it almost tastes like a normal EG cup

This is my first infusion of this tea, and I like it. It almost tastes like a black Darjeeling, but a bit smoother and well balanced. I’m looking forward to seeing what the next infusions bring

I’m nearing the end of this tin of tea, but thoroughly enjoying it. Just the perfect tea to usher in the nice weather of spring, with mellow grassy flavors of the sencha, and sweetness from the cherry blossoms. Delicious.

Snowy day, and I’ve been called out of work, so I’m diving in to the pound of Irish Breakfast I bought from Adagio… it’s an ok blend, I wish it was a little stronger. Next time I will add a little bit more tea to the pot.

I love love love this tea. My typical steeping routine for this tea is 3 minutes for the first brew (which I don’t rinse, the super strong brew knocks my socks off), and then I add an extra 30 seconds to each additional steeping. I had this at work the other day and managed about 5 steeps before it was time to call it quits (on work and the tea). Strong, earthy and mellow. I tend to really like steepings 2 and 3 for this one.

I have yet to make a bad cup of this tea. Tasty with a splash of milk, this is my latest go-to tea. I am breezing through the box of 80 teabags

This is an ok silver needle, but then again my sampler has been sitting around for ages, so time has probably taken a good amount of the flavor that should be there. It’s still drinkable enough to finish out the tin, but I probably won’t go crazy on the re-steepings.

Iced chai latte today, and it’s actually pretty decent. Usually iced tea with milk somehow tends to go terribly wrong for me, but the frothed milk here worked out well. A nice late summer beverage

Ahh, the last of this tin, just means there’s more room for new tea. Good strong cup of tea this morning, but next time I get Twinings Irish Breakfast, I think I’ll stick to buying the bags. The loose tea is just so tiny, every cup ends up having a bunch of dust in it. I usually prefer loose to bagged, but this is one of those teas that’s better off staying in the bag.

Today at work I really felt like a having a cup of black tea with milk, and I would have loved a cup of any sort of Irish breakfast tea, but unfortunately my choices were the silver needle and the standard bag of Lipton that we keep at work. I chose the Lipton, it had been ages since I’d had any (I usually bring tea from home), so what the hell, I gave it a try. I usually add lemon to Lipton, so today was a bit different when I added milk. It wasn’t horrible and satiated my craving. As I poured the milk into the cup I was reminded of a coworker who made a cup of tea, and added a creamer to her cup, and upon doing so exclaimed that the creamer was bad! That happens occasionally in the restaurant business, so I told her to just make a new cup of tea. Then she explained that first she added the lemon, and then the creamer. I then explained that when you combine milk and lemon, the milk curdles. Hours later, when making a new cup of tea, I saw her add a creamer to her cup, and then exclaim, “it did it again!”
Me: “did you add lemon?”
Her: “yeah”
Me: “milk plus lemon will curdle every time”

And then I had to walk away.

Apparently I’ve discovered my love of Irish breakfast tea, and this one isn’t too bad, and gets the job done. Good with just milk, I don’t need to add sweetener.

Sweet smelling, almost of honey. Does have a bit of a nutty taste. The combination of the sweet smell and nutty taste are pretty good and unexpected. Mellow but tasty

Sencha Sakura from Rishi Tea

I love this tea so so much. It’s my official “it’s time for spring” tea to welcome in the nice weather. I bought this tea last year, and I got 2 50 gram packets of it… so the second one I had been waiting to open up, which I did yesterday, and tasted as fresh and delicious as I remembered it last year. It’s a very good sencha with cherry blossoms, and there’s a light sweetness to it, and is tasty through the 3rd steeping. Delicious!

Smooth, light and subtle flavor. Somewhat vegetal, almost seaweed? Definitely a tasty brew

My Rishi chai sampler came in today, and this is the first one I’ve tried. Quite delicious! I added some sweetener and milk after brewing, and it has a perfect balance of sweet and spicy. Smooth on the sip, but going down has just the right kick from the ginger and pepper. I’m definitely going to have to order more of this, I can see the sampler pack being gone before the end of the week… unless one of the other 3 samplers can beat this one. I hope they give it a good try!
