27 Tasting Notes
Just picked this up from the store and it seems pretty fresh. I add some just above room temperature water (about 80 degrees is fine) and smash it against the inside of a bowl or rounded cup for about 5 minutes. Then strain it and enjoy. Kinda makes the lips and tongue go a little numb, then the relaxation sets in for an hour or 2.
Got this when I was out of town in a place with barely any good tea available. It was pretty good, but maybe it was due to my weekend long lacking of connoisseur grade teas. Had this after a big breakfast and it was brewed in an insulated paper cup with an espresso steamer. After a solid 4 minute steep I decided based on smell that it was ready. Has a smooth finish and very sweet smells. I would like to try this loose leaf next time.
Got this in Portland last year. A very durable tea. Strong on the caffeine levels, smooth on the acidity level. Perfect after a large breakfast. The digestive properties of pu-erh’s are very active in this one and the caffeine wakes you up. Brew it in boiling water for 2-4 minutes depending on how strong you want it. Starts getting watery after 4 steeps at that length.
