Another tea I am just in love with. Mmmmmm.
When I opened the package from Butiki yesterday, this was the first tea I opened to smell. It smells just like a lemon cookie to me. I think my mouth may have started watering at that point. I was so disappointed it was so late in the day by the time I got home that I wasn’t able to try this or any of my other Butiki teas.
I actually remembered to bring tea with me to the office today! This was one of the two I grabbed to try during the day. I’m soooo glad I did.
Cracking open the package, inhale. It smells even better to me than it did last night, somehow. I can’t believe the amount of almond in this tea. About 4 tsp into the infuser basket of my mug and I’m off to the kitchen to get water. (I totally forgot the kettle I got yesterday to bring to the office. Sigh. Can’t win ’em all.) As the water hit the leaves, the scent drifted up to my nose, mouth watering.
Three minutes can seem like an eternity. I guess I should feel lucky that it was only three minutes.
Timer goes off. Out comes the infusion basket. Gosh, it looks pretty. That must be the calendula. But at the moment, that’s not important.
The first sip.
Then a second and third and I just sit there breathing in the aroma, tasting and smelling the deliciousness that is Lemon French Macaron. Sweet, strong lemony, creamy, not quite almondy, but definitely cookie. Wow. It does taste just like a lemon macaron. (I had one a couple of weeks ago, so I know.)
As it cooled, it wasn’t quite as good, but I was still enjoying it to the last drop.
It resteeped quite well.
Sounds delish!
I LOVE this tea.
