Another sample I’m trying to see if I happen to like it or not.

Which is more not than like, although it grew on me.

I will say that dry this smells heavenly, and the liquor actually also smells delicious. Unfortunately, this tea didn’t do much for me on its own. I eventually added some non-dairy creamer and a touch of sugar, and it helped make it something I liked. I think my problem is the cinnamon. I like cinnamon, but it was just a little too much. Cinnamon and chocolate is something that I really just don’t like together. Others may really like this, but it wasn’t for me. I’ll probably put the rest of this sample into one of the traveling tea boxes I’m in, because I’m sure it’s in someone’s flavor wheelhouse.

I’m finicky when it comes to chocolate and cinnamon together, although I’m coming around to it more and more. The only time I won’t tolerate it for sure is in the kind of chocolate cake my mom used to make when I was growing up. Some people put cinnamon in it to make it better… No thanks! It’s pure rich chocolate that needs no addition of spice.

I actually really enjoyed this tea this morning. I will be honest, I wasn’t expecting to, but I decided to take a chance on some more samples I have from the Tea Company because I got a coupon for 25% off plus free shipping and I’m very glad that I did.

This is a pretty nice oolong. It’s the right amount of creamy and the right amount of floral. Of course, while I was enjoying this one I was working, and I can’t remember too much about it. It was just nice and natural and I like that it’s unflavored. I need to try more unflavored oolongs.

distinctive flavor

This is pretty good. I wish the flavor were a touch stronger, but it’s still nice in an iced matcha latte.

I only have a small amount of this, and I probably won’t order it as this is not in my flavor wheelhouse, but it’s enjoyable while it lasts.

keychange

hahaha flavor wheelhouse!

Love love love this!!! The basket is roomy, and I love that I can actually smell the tea as I’m drinking it. The screen top is small enough that I had the handle top off in the car with a full mug and I had no problems with spillage. The only thing that could be better is that it can be tricky to get the infusion basket off when just pulling it out of the mug. Otherwise, I love this!

After the disappointment of the David’s Tea Quangzhou Milk Oolong, I needed something to make me happy.

This tea is a delicious, yummy, nommy, oh so tasty lemon macaron treat in a mug.

This tea makes me happy.

I finished all I had yesterday and now I’m sad.

This tea was not for me. Other people love it, but nope.

I made it before a meeting, and that first mug was mostly okay but not anything that impressed me. Okay, not entirely true as I was impressed with how huge the leaves got while steeping. But the flavor wasn’t all that exciting. I was in a horrible meeting, and maybe that was it, right?

I figured I probably did something wrong with it and decided to try again. I hadn’t had time this morning to get the kettle out at work, so I was just guesstimating on the water temperature. This time, I pulled the kettle out and made sure the temperature was right before trying again.

It was still just maybe okay, and on the downer side of okay. But I thought maybe it was the flavoring added to the tea (others say they don’t see that, and I agree on the bad it seems to indicate that it doesn’t have flavoring in it, but on the website, it clearly says it has flavoring added to it) and that by itself it would be better. The resteep was so horrible I dumped it out.

So this tea isn’t for me, and I have two tablespoons pulled out of the 50g bag. Oh well. Other people seem to love this tea. I’ll just put the rest into traveling tea boxes I’min.

drank Blueberry Jam Organic by DAVIDsTEA

I picked this as my morning tea today, thinking black would have a decent amount of caffeine. After I added it to the infuser basket on my carry mug, I noticed it said low caffeine. Ah well.

I like this tea, though. It smells delicious both dry and after steeping. It was a little sweeter than I normally take my tea, from the addition of the stevia to it, but this morning that was actually a nice thing. (Normally, I drink my tea as is with no sweetener, milk or cream.) I love the berry taste to it. I do get the blueberry, but also the raspberry flavor is a nice balance. I am glad I ordered this one, and I look forward to my next mug of it. (I’ll probably bring it to work instead of doing it for a morning tea. More of a good afternoon tea.)

205 °F / 96 °C 5 min, 0 sec 3 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML

drank Grapefruit Dragon by Butiki Teas

This is a really, really nice grapefruit flavor. Not quite so much of the green, but I bet I would get that on a resteep. I also wish I’d thought to add just a touch of sugar to it. I still really like it. I’m not doing it justice with this review, but there are so many others that do. I need to get back to work because the sky is falling for a customer at the moment. Sigh.

drank Lemon French Macaron by Butiki Teas

Another tea I am just in love with. Mmmmmm.

When I opened the package from Butiki yesterday, this was the first tea I opened to smell. It smells just like a lemon cookie to me. I think my mouth may have started watering at that point. I was so disappointed it was so late in the day by the time I got home that I wasn’t able to try this or any of my other Butiki teas.

I actually remembered to bring tea with me to the office today! This was one of the two I grabbed to try during the day. I’m soooo glad I did.

Cracking open the package, inhale. It smells even better to me than it did last night, somehow. I can’t believe the amount of almond in this tea. About 4 tsp into the infuser basket of my mug and I’m off to the kitchen to get water. (I totally forgot the kettle I got yesterday to bring to the office. Sigh. Can’t win ’em all.) As the water hit the leaves, the scent drifted up to my nose, mouth watering.

Three minutes can seem like an eternity. I guess I should feel lucky that it was only three minutes.

Timer goes off. Out comes the infusion basket. Gosh, it looks pretty. That must be the calendula. But at the moment, that’s not important.

The first sip.

Then a second and third and I just sit there breathing in the aroma, tasting and smelling the deliciousness that is Lemon French Macaron. Sweet, strong lemony, creamy, not quite almondy, but definitely cookie. Wow. It does taste just like a lemon macaron. (I had one a couple of weeks ago, so I know.)

As it cooled, it wasn’t quite as good, but I was still enjoying it to the last drop.

It resteeped quite well.

This is one of the teas that showed up for me yesterday. I figured it was the best one to start the day, especially since I have not been sleeping well lately with the raccoon visitor in the attic and her babies living right over my bedroom. I have been sleeping on the couch. I used to love this couch. Right now, I hate this couch.

Let me just say WOW! I really like this tea. The lime is a little stronger than the blackberry, but both are definitely there. And the base tea as well. Nice. Stephanie and Stacy, this tea is great.

I wonder how it would be iced…..hmmmm…..Maybe for the weekend when I will need extra energy. (I’m participating in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life with my robot kids. It’ll be a long 24 hours.)

I made this one up in my brad new David’s Carry Mug. I’m so glad I finally broke down and got it. LOVE the Carry Mug. Thank you, keychange, for convincing me that I really needed this. I did. I just didn’t know it. It is even better than I thought it would be.

oh my god isn’t it the best?! I really need to write a review for it and get more people to try it!! so glad you’re loving it!

I was thinking of adding this to my next Butiki order! Sounds good

At least try a sample of it, for sure. It’s delicious.

Still relatively new to drinking teas, or so I feel, even though I’ve been at it for several months now.

I’m drinking more and more of different varieties of tea.

It’s been a few months that I’ve been on here. I’ve expanded from greens and flavored teas to now I’m all about the oolongs and some unflavored blacks. I’m mostly drinking unflavored teas now, but there are a few of those flavored ones that have a special place in my heart.

Pu-erh is also something I’ve recently found that I enjoy.

I have four kitties and a spouse.
