Not too impressed with this tea at the moment…I MAY have oversteeped it, and because of that I’m going to make a cup a little later (and add another tasting note), but for now it wasn’t too good.
Let me just say that the smell of the dry leaves is divine. Its scent was vegetal and so very green, which is exactly what I was hoping it would taste like.
Upon taking the first sip, I actually was taken aback due to its bitter taste. I tried a few more sips as it cooled, and although it began to taste a little more bearable it was still bitter. This is why I think I oversteeped it (I think I left it in for a minute and 15 seconds instead of 45 seconds, which is probably best) or I may have even added water that was too hot.
For my second cup, I’m planning on letting the boiling water sit a few more minutes, and steeping for way less time. I’m hoping all goes well!
