I love foxtrot. It is one of my common evening time teas. I don’t know how rooibos + chamomile + mint = creamy flavor, but somehow that is how it turns out. It is wonderful. Just got a new big bag, too!
Preparation
I plowed right through my 3 oz. tin of this. It’s consistently been my morning tea maybe 85% of the days in the past couple months. It has all the characteristics of a solid morning black tea for me: not too light, not too strong either (though there are days when I can’t handle caffeine in the mornings), with just the right amount of natural sweetness. In fact, I think Adagio should change the name of this to ‘Goldilocks’, because it’s juuuust right. It’s definitely something I could see myself drinking every morning for quite some time (though in the interest of coming up with new things to write, I’m going to find another morning black and go with that for a while). In the end, I’m bumping my rating up a few points from when I first logged it, mainly because of its eminent dependability and drinkability.
On a side note, the Adagio 3oz. tins themselves are great! The stickers peel off easily and you rinse them out and reuse them without much hassle.
Preparation
Btw, are you steeping yours twice? I was taught to only do blacks one time cuz there’s not enough uumph to do double steeps. But I’ve been plowing through mine every day and know that some do double steep their blacks…if you dont mind, what times are you steeping? I’ve been going 4min, then now 5min 2nd steep- still a bit weak for me but I so LOVE this tea that I’ll drink it anyway.
Brewed this up this morning and added a drop of bitter almond oil to bring out the almond flavor (I’d found it to be weak previously). It helped and next time I might add some almond slivers as well. Still not a favorite though.
Preparation
I switched back to tea this morning in the hopes that it will help me tackle the enormous sewing pile in my room. I picked the Fujian Baroque because it has long been a favorite of mine. Today I noted a smokiness accompanying the cocoa flavor I’m used to. Maybe I’ve set it too close to my Lapsang?
Preparation
I’ve been drinking so much coffee lately I figured it was time to switch back to tea for a bit. This one is an old favorite and has the body (and chocolatey goodness!) to stand up to all the coffee. Drank it along side home made banana oatmeal brulee. Yum!
