This tea has a non descript aroma when in the tin. I steeped 2.25g of tea leaves in 6oz purified water heated to 175 degrees F for 3 min. and I’m glad I didn’t steep it any longer. It does have a pale yellowish green liquor as the description states, but that’s where the accuracy ends. There is nothing fruity about this tea at all. I did not sweeten this. I became leary about this tea even before tasting it. It smelled of dirt. Sure enough, it tastes like a very weak pu erh, kind of like I dropped a good tasting green tea on the ground. I’m not sure this tea would appeal to anyone. If you don’t like pu erh, you won’t like this tea. But then again if you like pu erh this may be too weak for you. If you like pu erh maybe steep it for 5 mins like a black tea. I normally like to try all teas both hot and chilled and see how many infusions I can get before the flavor dies, but I’m not brave enough to try this a 2nd time no matter how it’s prepared.
I was REALLY excited about this because I can’t stand most sweetened tea. I was just as disappointed. I got a bottle as a free sample from Adagio w/ one of my purchases and I’m glad I didn’t have to pay for it. There was an odd taste I couldn’t place. Maybe peaches? But I like peach white or green peach tea. This wasn’t good. It says they added vitamin C to it and I think that was the mistake. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.
Sometimes I don’t want my palate challenged, or a finicky steeping ritual, or a lot of nuance. Sometimes, I just want a really good, satisfying cup of tea. Now, please.
This one has a deep tea perfume, a dark color that promises and delivers a strong tannic flavor. Tannic meaning it tastes like tea – good, honest, no fussiness about it tea. I wrap my hands around my mug and inhale deeply before each sip. Ahhh – tea.

…at least I THINK that’s what I’m drinking. My work tea storage leaves a lot to be desired, and these unidentified bags were squooshed down in the bottom of the tin in a zip-lock baggie. Hey, it’s warm, and a little sweet—-any port in a storm; literally. Raining kittens and cold and damp and just above freezing.

This was one of the first loose leaf teas I ever tried. It was my favorite of the ones I tried back then and I still really like it today.
There is a grassy flavor, but it isn’t very strong. There’s something else about this tea that I can’t quite describe very well. When I was drinking it, I remember thinking that it was almost sweet, but not in the sugar kind of way.
