Apollo Tea

I made this one as a cold brew. I only brewed it for about 4 hours. It turned out really good. Very light fruity, mango taste, also light notes of apple. Did not need any extra sweetener added. By brewing for a short period of time, the rooibos taste was really mild.

Today I made this tea iced. I used 8 tsp in 64 oz. of hot water. I added 1/4 cup white sugar for sweetener. It brewed a dark ruby red liqour. Smelled sweet and fruity. It tastes sweet and fruity, the liquid feels heavy in my mouth. It tastes and feels like I am drinking a fruit juice! I am happy I tried this one iced today. I am going to have to do this again in the summer, considering it is currently a cold winter where I am right now. But as I’m drinking it, I’m dreaming of the beach :)

This tea is absolutely delicious. I find it is very mild and does not taste like rooibos at all. There is a strong tropical fruit flavour to this tea. It tastes good hot or cold.
Although I have enjoyed this tea, I will probably not purchase it again.

This tea is fragrant but not overpowering. The smell of the dry leaves suggests a very strong flavor but the tea itself is subtle and sweet.The light bergamot flavor fits perfectly. It was nice overall.

Done with this from my stash…doubt I would ever (re)order but I am glad I got to try it…

Had a cup this morning – I’m really REALLY getting low on my black and black flavored teas so much so that I am forcing myself with teas like this…sigh…

I still don’t think it’s superior but it is ok and gets the job done in the morning!

When I sniffed this one, I figured it was going to be like most ‘Earl Grey Cremes’ but was pleasantly surprised. You can taste straight away that it’s a good black tea base with just the right amount of bergamot. It is definitely a creamy cup but nothing overtly gourmand or sickly like some teas of this type. The creaminess makes this a smooth, rich cup, and the aftertaste is actually quite brisk, which is pleasing since a lot of creamy teas tend to be too sweet or cloying.

I like this tea a lot more than I expected. I probably won’t be buying more but I will definitely enjoy what is left of my sample.

Brewing note: made this with 1% milk. No sugar. The second cup is almost identical to the first, which is lovely.

This is much stronger than I remember it…but just what I seem to need this morning…

This is an incredibly brisk tea! I was actually surprised by how strong it was once brewed. It’s wonderfully aromatic, which is always a major plus for me, and the taste is a strong earl grey with sharp citrus overtones. The aftertaste is a little bitter. I had this with milk but I think next time I’ll need to add a little raw sugar to make it more my thing. For people who love citrus, I’d recommend this black with a sliver of lemon.

I have been looking forward to this tea since I first stumbled across it. I mean, who wouldn’t love a tea called Dorian Grey? I finally caved and bought Apollo’s ‘best of Earl Grey’ sampler and this was the first tea I tried.

I was a little worried at first. Of the 5 teas in the sampler, this had the lightest aroma. In fact, it almost smelled a little stale. When hot water is poured on it, I get a burst of wonderful scent and then that murkiness overtakes again.

I am pleased to say that the taste is far better than the scent would have you believe. This is a mellow, smooth, and creamy Earl Grey. There is a soft caramel aftertaste but it’s just the right amount; no overpowering sweetness or gourmand flavour. I’m a huge Earl Grey fan and this one is now among my favourites. I can’t wait to try the others!

Backlogging…I am really liking this one…I am upping the rating…

I like to start my morning off with either green or black with a little kick. Jasmine usually does the trick. I don’t know if there’s something in the Jasmine, or if it just reminds my body of drinking tea in China when there probably was something else in the tea! Good times!
This is my first time to try Apollo. It’s OK. I’ve had much better Jasmine Tears. It will work for today though.

Thus far I have really enjoyed Apollo Teas. I feel they missed the mark on this one tho…sorry to say…it’s very bitter and artificial Raspberry Tasting! Bleh. The aftertaste is really bad. BUT…don’t let that stop you from trying their other FAB blends..or even this one if you are into bitter and tart…

Dry leaf…WHOLEY BERGAMOT! It kind of smells like Orange Glo!

After infusion – gladly – I can smell more of the black tea.

The taste is very, very strong and bold. Bergamot, floral, and a little black tea. I don’t know if it’s ‘superior’ but it’s different and gets the job done for a morning cup! I would probably drink again.

This is very yummy – smells awesome and tastes almost as good! There is just something about black tea and peach! YUM!

Go Granny! It’s Yo Burff-day! Party Like it’s Yo’ Burff-Day! Sorry…all I can think of is like a little old granny dancing or singing or something…Kind of like the old lady in the Wedding Singer!? I soooooo LOVE that movie!!!!

Anyhow…on to the review. It’s simple. It’s nice, evenly flavored green tea. The smell is what sold me! This is a good chugging or sipping tea…good hot or cold…fruity and fun. True to the apple tho! A nice change!
