Red Chai from Asia Specialties Gourmet Tea

I awoke with a nasty sore throat this morning.
Which is kinda bumming me out.
After trying to ignore it all morning, and now its lunch time and it is being joined by a drippy nose, I have succumbed to the fact that something must be done.
TeaEqualsBliss sent me a few samples of different kinds of Chai, and this is one of them.
I am hoping this will help with my cold/allergy thing.
I do not smell any spices, just black tea and something almost honey-like.
There is a small amount of spice of the tongue, but very mild.
Not bad, felt nice on my sore throat.
Might try another Chai, since I was hoping for a kick of spice:)

I didn’t steep this at a very high temp OR for very long but the color was very dark — almost like a coffee. It doesn’t taste or smell like a chai OR a rooibos. It has a very perfumey taste. No spices at all that I can taste. And the red tea isn’t really like a red I’ve had before. So basically it didn’t seem like a rooibos or a chai… just very perfumey. I wonder what they put in it?

After a long hiatus from this…I decided to have a cup…actually, it got lost in the shuffle because of the odd-ball size of the tin it’s in…it was just so-so…but did the job…

Backlogging. Very strong for a cheap bagged black tea. Hints of Peach and Hints of Ginger. Nice!
