Just the thing after an afternoon of overindulging at a holiday party!

Sweeter, less sour, and generally more “accessible” than the other Buchi blends, I think. Strong clove scent and apple flavor upfront. Then the sour pucker of the fermentedness. Smoother on the finish, with lingering hints of vanilla and cinnamon.

Revisting it after trying a few other flavors. I like it a bit better than the “air” blend, but “water” and “fire” are still my faves. This is just a bit too tart for me!

I figured if beer tastes better when it’s on draft, the same has to apply to kombucha!

I figured I’d like this one better than fire, which is gingery. This is verrrrry minty. I’m not a fan of echinacea because it makes my stomach hurt, but that’s not going to really stop me. Beyond mint, it just has an herbal taste. On their website they say there’s pineapple too but I can’t taste it. Oh well.

I prefer the Water flavor but that is not available on draft at my Whole Foods :(

This isn’t bad though. I just think the pricing is weird. 16 oz is $5, but 24 oz is $6 (and that’s probably WF and not Buchi’s deal). And it is like, extra fizzy compared to those in the bottle. I couldn’t stop drinking it in the car because it was reminding me of my favorite kinds of beer, but sweeter and I can drink this and drive. Obviously.

Ellyn

I didn’t realize that WF has Kombucha on tap! Was it only this flavor/style?

momo

I’m really surprised it’s at my store because it’s like the saddest one of them all, but it’s two from this company as they are regional at the cafe.

Terri HarpLady

they don’t have it in st louis

We are on tap in around 20 Whole Foods and Earth Fares in the South East including in Atlanta, Chapel Hill, Knoxville, Asheville, Greenville and more. You can even buy Buchi by the growler (64oz) which is great for a families and party alternatives and ends up saving a lot of money. For a full retailer list and to find where you can get Buchi on draft, check out: http://drinkbuchi.com/find-buchi

Thanks for the review! Buchi Air, like the rest of our elemental line, is designed to be a pretty strong flavor you will either love or not. You’re right about it being minty, we actually just reformulated Air to have a bit less mint and more pineapple, so give it another try in a few weeks once we sell through what’s already on the shelves. Fire is still our most popular though with the freshly juiced ginger and cayenne, you should definitely try it (unless you dislike ginger). And you’re right, pricing is a Whole Foods decision. :)

Thanks for helping spread the word about our brand! For more information about our small family owned brewery, check out: http://www.drinkbuchi.com

I’ll be on the lookout for it! I’m not too much of a ginger fan but if it’s the most popular flavor, I may have to give it a try anyway.

The worst thing happened last week. The tap for this flavor was busted and then to really make it annoying, they left it like it was normal. So last Friday I think it was, I stood there waiting for this girl to stop messing with coffee beans and pour me a cup and it’s, oh it’s broken.

MEH.

So I finally got some this Saturday, in a 32 oz growler!!! Just what I need. So really that’s been the only tea I’ve been drinking because I can’t be bothered right now. This paper is ruining my life and I still have 3 pages to write.

This is still the best tasting one to me. I just like that it is fruity and kind of minty, and just the right amount of tart. It kind of catches my taste buds sometimes and tastes a little too tart but that’s okay.

Shmiracles

i absolutely LOVE getting growlers of Kombucha!! and i hope to get one today.
good luck on your paper!!

Sooo this is on tap at Whole Foods now, AND WF made the pricing make sense finally. $3 for 16 oz, $4.50 for 24 oz, $11 for a 64 oz growler fill. I wonder if I can take in one of my beer specific growlers for that…I have like 3 or 4 I’ve accumulated for free.

This one is just the best. I could drink it forever. I just love how sweet and slightly herby it is. And now that The price makes far more sense I am probably going to get a cup every time I come in here.

KeenTeaThyme

I’ve never even heard of this tea but now I want it! I would even consider entering a Whole Foods and fighting my paranoia over the super small aisles in order to obtain this. ;)

Shmiracles

we have one called BarefootBucha on tap here locally at 2 different types of stores and i am super thrilled. i love love love kombucha. i’m sure you can take any of your growlers. in one of the stores they even sell mason jars for the kombucha so i bet you could use those too! YUM!

momo

if they have it on tap you likely don’t even have to go down an aisle, win-win

KeenTeaThyme

Good to know – anything to avoid the aisles!

Shmiracles

i kinda hope that once summer comes around, maybe a few of the bars will have kombucha on tap. a girl can dream.

My precioussssss.

We decided we’d try a new-to-us place for lunch today, and got fajitas there. I did not realize until I was nearly done eating that some of my chicken was massively undercooked. They comped it and apologized profusely but my stomach really, really hurts. So if this doesn’t take care of it, I’m going to cry because we have my favorite “champagne” for tonight and I got the awesome avocado kale salad Whole Foods has and I WANT TO EAT IT.

Well if there was any further sign that I should try eating mostly ovo-vegetarian like I was thinking about in the new year, being served undercooked chicken did it for me. BLEH.

This one will always and forever be my favorite flavor. I considered getting the new earth one but when watermelon and blueberry are involved I really can’t change.

I wish they had this one on tap at my Whole Foods but then I’d probably drink the entire growler in a day.

I went to a different Whole Foods for a blogger event (I was one of two people to come, sadly) and I noticed this one had a ton of different stuff compared to the one closer to me.

This is a kombucha from a company based in Asheville, so it’s a slight bit more expensive than the one I had before but ohhhh it’s better.

It’s VERY tart though, which I’m going to blame on not just it being kombucha, but because it also has apple and blackberry juices. And it has coconut water! Since all I drank earlier was Italian soda, which is far more sugar than I want, this tastes extra refreshing, even if it’s pinching the back of my throat with tartness.

I am amused that on their website they say it mixes well with vodka and rum. I feel like that ruins the purpose of drinking this, lol. I guess it’s better than Coke and maybe you get less of a hangover? I’m not finding out right now.

So it also has elderberry, schizandra berry, and watermelon juice. Pretty much all their kombuchas have to do with elements. It was between this one and Air, which I will try next time.

It is so good though, and I think I am already in love with this company after just browsing their website. I really need to get to Asheville sometime…

Thanks so much for the review of Buchi Water! It’s been flying off the shelves all across the South East, we can barely brew enough to keep it in stock! For anyone else looking for a local kombucha that’s better tasting, come find us! www.drinkbuchi.com

PS: We’ve been testing and mixing kombucha with alcohol doesn’t kill the probiotic culture, so all of the nutrients and living cultures are still viable. And you’re right, all the naturally occurring B vitamins prevent/cure hangovers and kombucha actively detoxifies your liver while you drink. Obviously drinking liquor isn’t the healthiest activity, BUT all things in moderation including moderation! If you’re going to drink, you’re way better off mixing with kombucha.

BTW we just posted a new crowdfunding video on Indiegogo that will give you a peak behind the scenes of our brewery. Check it out:

With Love,

Buchi :)

momo

I may have to try it. If I drink liquor it’s typically just mixed with tonic water so probably can’t go wrong with kombucha. This one is definitely my favorite so far! Next time I get paid I am definitely helping to fund your project! I saw it on Facebook and I couldn’t believe you hand bottle everything, and at such speed!
