This is my first “2nd flush” tea since really beginning to explore teas this year. I’ve been on a Chinese blacks bender, and in the last few days have decided to return to my first love, the Assams. I am pleased to report that the difference between a 1st flush and a 2nd flush is no longer a mystery to me! Cafe Moto’s Assam Fancy 2nd Flush is a great tea to compare/contrast with first flush Assams. All of the trademark Assam notes are present…the wonderful maltiness, the cocoa base note….but there is a smoothness and depth to this tea that was never present in the “regular” assams I’ve sampled in the past. This tea also has a lovely mouthfeel that is whole but not too weighty. Overall, this is a great, honest Assam with the smoothness and maltiness that I adore. 2nd flush, you’ve made me a fan!

today: completing my final for university: ummmm…well….not done. started, but not done. Having another cup of tea today: success! Especially with this decaf tea. It makes me forget I’m drinking decaf. I don’t have to use double amounts to make up for the decaf process. Just a good cup of tea here that loves milk and honey. My day is getting more productive already!

This is my go-to decaf tea when I need a cup of decaf (doctor’s orders). It has a robust taste, stands up to milk and honey well for a great, honest cup of black tea. This is a loose tea with broken leaves, so it brews up dark. Not malty, not bitter….just black tea goodness. I use just a bit more than I normally would to brew this to make up for the “decaf” (which usually brews a little weaker than regular tea). Well worth buying

This one caught my eye yesterday as I was ordering my other tea at the coffee shop, so I got it today.
Black, sweet, a little grassy tasting, a little chocolatey tasting (dark chocolate, not milk). I want to try it next time with sugar. Smells very earthy, if that makes sense.
Not bad, it didn’t really stand out to me. But I’m willing to try it again.

Very good tea, I really enjoy the strong fruity flavors. I like to brew this for about 6-7 minutes. I may end up purchasing some for my own tea collection.

Hmm, I think this is from Cafe Moto, only because all of the teas at my local coffee shop come from there, but I couldn’t find it on the Cafe Moto website. Unless they call it something different.
Anyway, this oolong is mild with a touch of sweetness that lingers. It is somewhere in the middle of green and black. I get a hint of something at the beginning, at that whiff right before you put the cup to your lips and the first moment it hits your taste buds. It’s like a malty? Or smoky? Not like LS, but maybe a hint of roasting? The taste is mellow definitely. But it’s hiding something, or it’s just something I cannot articulate today.
Hmm, I like it, it’s mild, probably just enough to get me through work tonight. Yet, not hop me up too much like that darn Zipfizz I had yesterday.

So my local coffee shop calls this “Grand Crus tea”, but they get their tea from Cafe Moto, so I put it under the name that Cafe Moto uses.

Now I know why they called this Grand Crus! This is really one of the finest jasmine pearl teas I have ever had. Beautiful fragrance, light taste, lasted through 4 steepings with no change in taste. The second steeping I even forgot about it while at work, so it turned out darker than the first, but no bitterness, just jasmine goodness down to the last drop! I hated throwing this away, but I didn’t have anything to store it in for transporting, and as much as I love this, I didn’t want it all over my car.

It was well worth the extra dollar I paid for this, the same price as a mocha! I would totally “splurge” and get this again, I felt like a princess drinking this. :-)

Loose leaf tea to go from the local coffee house. Yum! Deceiving looks with its beautiful golden brown color, pleasant mild aroma. Then the taste hits you; strong, but not too bitter. I tasted a hint of caramel in it, and it finished nicely, with very little aftertaste. I didn’t try it with any sweetener, I needed bold this morning.
