Had this over the weekend on a rare visit to Caribou Coffee. It’s got some kind of coconut syrup in it, which made it almost too sweet for me, but the coconut flavour is awesome. If I had it again, I’d see what I could do to request that it was made with less syrup, and then it might be perfect. Pretty awesome!

Stopped by Caribou Coffee to get some work done this morning, spending most of my time on steepster after seeing the steepster select email though. Tried this new tea latte. They have several flavors, this sounded the most energizing this morning.

This tea latte is overpowered by the caramel flavored syrup they use. I think it it were reduced to 1 pump or none at all (if that is possible, not sure if it is added to the concentrate or not), it would have a much stronger tea taste.

This being my first Earl Grey anything makes me curious to try other earl greys with tea and milk. I had them use soy in this as a recommendation. I enjoy the flavor, it’s a neat option to the chai tea lattes.

A nice, soft and lightly sweet cup. I brewed this for 3 minutes in 175F water. There just isn’t much flavor here today. I think I better use less water next time.

Ahh…got it back to how I remember it. A nice light green color after 2 minutes @ 175. Much more depth to the flavor, light indescribable to me at the moment, but not the hay taste I’ve been getting from other greens (like cocomint green). This is one smooth tea. I will have to sample more greens to start improving my vocabulary.

This was a good tea to drink after a good size lunch, not too rich to make me feel full, just light and enough flavor to enjoy a good cuppa.

I think I steeped this tea too long as it was much darker and almost bitter. I remember it being a light, pale green and not the olive I drank. It didn’t have the soothing qualities I remembered, more of a harsh bitter blend. Must shorten steep time next time.

Not as much delicious pomegranate flavor as I remember, but still delicate and sweet and definitely oolong. Ooooooolong. I’m loving the oolongs lately.

Trying to reduce the teas in tins/bagged teas I have crowding my cupboards this week. In preparation for new Teavana teas (Berry Mojito sounds amazing…hoping the stores have them tomorrow or ordering online if not), Davids teas and Teasource teas…maybe a teaguys and praise tea company order. Too many teas to try! I need to see if any local stores carry harney’s cranberry autumn because that sounds fantastic for right now as well.

Berry Mojito? Oh, dear. My poor cupboard.

Makes a great light flavored iced tea. Must get another tin!

9oz 180* steeped 3 minutes (they recommend 5, but seemed a bit long).

Mild tea, definitely can taste the pomegranate. Smooth finish and heavenly aroma. I really enjoyed sipping this tea after dinner. Still curious as to how it would hold up iced.

Juicy and not bitter at all. This really does surprise me.

Does anyone know if Caribou sells Harney & Sons teas, repackaged? I noticed that two of their teas for sale – not at the counter, just in tins – were exactly the same names as Harney teas (Pomegranate Oolong and Hot Cinnamon Spice).

Never made the connection, but the descriptions are the exact same as well. Both Pomegranate Oolongs Ti Quan Yin. Not finding anything confirming this for sure though.

Stopped by my semi-regular Caribou Coffee this morning. I’ve tried their teas a few time and was NOT impressed; the Irish Breakfast and Jasmine were pretty dreadful. So I decided to go for something new today and it paid off. This was way, way better than the other teas of theirs that I’ve tried, and was actually pretty good in its own right. Not bitter at all, full of juicy sweetness, and not too tart like some mango teas I’ve tried. Kind of want to buy a box.

Also, both of our hot water dispensers are down at work, so I can’t make tea and it’s driving me nuts.

Stage a protest at work. NO TEA, NO PEACE! NO TEA, NO PEACE!

It was going to come to that. Thankfully, one came back up not long after I wrote this. The other is down until sometime next week.

Uh oh you may need to resort to a hot plate on your desk. The caribou by us has a spiced rooibos that is pretty good. I haven’t tried any of the other options though.

Backlogging this one… tried this for the first time last week with skim milk. I’m not sure if they use their own chai mix, but it was way spicier than the Tazo blend Starbucks uses. I definitely like it, although I was a bit surprised at first. I wish I’d had a chance to try it hot because that’s usually how I drink the Tazo chai and then I could truly compare the two. I think when I’m in the right mood I would prefer the spicier blend from Carabou—it was definitely a nice change!

Back at Caribou for free internets! All of their teas are decent, nothing special. For a green tea (not my favorite), this was actually rather enjoyable. Little to no bitterness – probably from all the sweetener they add.

I’m still stuck at Caribou because I don’t get internet at my place until Thursday, so I grabbed another cup. This one is decent for a mint tea, which I usually don’t drink – I just don’t think there is that much delicacy to them. It’s fine for what it is, very minty. There’s maybe a hint of cinnamon, but it’s all but hidden by the mint.

Nothing special. Rich and dark, with a little bit of maltyness. Pretty standard as far as blacks come. It’s not very strong, especially considering the water was so hot it still burned me after sitting 15 mins. Decent with a pack of sugar and a splash of milk. It helps keep me warm in this icebox of a coffee shop.
