Bought 50g of this the other day. You can definitely taste both the chocolate and the strawberry in it. It is up to the standards of the Clipper Ship Tea Company from whom I have bought some excellent tea. You can also taste the black tea base in this. Overall this is quite nice for a flavored black tea. While flavored teas often have a lower quality base tea I don’t think this to be that much of a lower quality base tea. I do plan to cold brew this and try it iced.

I brewed this once in a 16oz Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 3 tsp leaf and 200 degree water for 3 minutes.

Flavors: Chocolate, Strawberry

This tea is not as good as it smelled in store. It’s sweet but has a sour note. Not a completely unpleasant sour note though. It is just not as good as I had hoped. Will cold brew this as an iced tea and see how it is.

Too bad. The name sounds promising.

I will cold brew it in a couple of days, the sour note may not be there cold brewed. Cold brewing often solves problems.

Kirkoneill1988

i don’t like rooibos or honeybush

AllanK

@Kirkoneill1988 You may simply not have tasted the right rooibos yet. I find I’m not overly fond of straight rooibos and prefer the green unfermented rooibos to the red rooibos.

Kirkoneill1988

hmm. interesting

AllanK

You can probably buy green rooibos blends on Amazon Canada.

Kirkoneill1988

i will try it someday

Bought this specifically to cold brew as iced tea. It is delicious and sweet from the fruits in this tea. The strawberry is definitely the strongest flavor but I think I taste the apple and pear too. This is one delicious caffeine free iced tea. I added some sugar because I like iced tea sweet but this really didn’t need it. If anyone goes to Clipper Ship Tea Company and is looking for a tisane to make into iced tea I definitely recommend this one. It is good.

I brewed this overnight in a 68oz Iced Tea Jug with 8 tsp leaf.

Flavors: Strawberry

Mmm, this sounds delicious!

It was one of the best herbals I have had to be honest. No artificial tastes to it.

Brewed this one overnight in the fridge and am drinking it iced. It is a very nice iced tea. The black tea base tastes good and the flavoring is sweet in nature. I added some sugar syrup because I like iced tea sweet. Have yet to try this one hot.

Picked this up the other day at Clipper Ship Tea Company. It is fairly tasty as decaf goes. Perhaps not as good as regular tea but this shouldn’t effect my insomnia. It’s got a sweet note from the pomegranate and raspberry. I added sugar so it’s hard to tell how sweet it is but it’s not bitter at all. It has a barely perceptible sour note to my taste buds but not enough to be a factor. I don’t drink caffeinated tea this late so it is a compromise choice for me. I think it is good quality as decaf goes.

This is a particularly good green rooibos tea. The taste of the blueberry is stronger than the taste of the rooibos. It is also really good iced.

This is a very tasty and interesting mix of ingredients. The berry taste comes through clearly. The ripe puerh too. Not sure I taste the guayasa. This is really good.

I had a feeling when I smelled the dry leaves that I wouldn’t like this, they had a sour aroma. The tea itself tastes sour too with a sweet mango note that just isn’t strong enough. The black tea base is decent but is hard to taste. Luckily I only bought a sample of this one.

I woke up at 4 am and couldn’t sleep. Since I have ideas of going back to sleep I made decaf. Bought this from my local tea store and it’s pretty good. I am noticing what seems to be orange, asnise, and clove in there. It’s not quite a full blown chai.

This is a nice black from Clipper Ship Tea Company. It has a very slight malt note. There is also peppery note to it. It’s also kind of sweet. It also tastes just a little, a very small amount flat to me. Not enough to ruin the tea but enough to lower the score.

I steeped this once and a 16oz Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 2 tsp leaf and boiling water for 3 min.

Drank this this morning hot. It was good. Now I’m drinking it as a cold brewed iced tea and it is fantastic. The raspberry flavor doesn’t taste artificial and just pops out at you. There is basically no bitterness to this brew. I added sugar but it is fairly sweet on it’s own. This is among the best teas I have gotten from Clipper Ship Tea Company. Anyone living on Long Island should take a trip to their store. It is located in Northport, NY, Long Island. If memory serves me it is on Main St.

This is an excellent tea. It has a nice flavor from the raspberry. I don’t get any vegetal notes in this one. I sweetened this with some local honey I bought at the Clipper Ship Tea Company when I bought the tea. I have a cold brew going so there will probably be a second review of this today.

Bought a sample size during my visit to a local tea store. It is overall pretty good. The raspberry flavoring is mostly nice and reminds me of summer. There is however, a very slight sour tinge to the raspberry, barely noticeable but there. Couldn’t sleep at four thirty in the morning so mad tea. Last night I didn’t post my order because I was too tired to take a picture after my visit to the er for my asthma. I really wish there was a cur for asthma. It now takes me two days to recover from an attack.

When I was making a purchase at my local tea shop, Clipper Ship Tea Company the owner gave me a generous sample of this roasted Yancha. I generally don’t like roasted teas because they are often too roasty for my tastes. This one is nice however as it is a very light roast. The roast profile was noticeable in the first steep but not overpowering. It was slightly less by the second steep and is noticeably less in the fourth steep. I only gave this tea four steeps because I am always watching my caffeine and it is time to cut out caffeine for the day. I think it would have certainly gone two more steeps. I used a moderate amount of tea for the gaiwan because I did not want the roast to be too potent. I felt 6g for a 150ml gaiwan was enough although I know some people will fill the gaiwan to capacity.

I brewed this four times in a 150ml gaiwan with 6g leaf and boiling water. I steeped it for 5 sec, 5 sec, 7 sec, and 10 sec. This company is rumored to soon have a website for those not close enough to stop by and I have always gotten some good tea, generally at reasonable prices. I’m not certain I would buy this one as I rarely want to drink roasted oolongs but it was nice.

From swap with AllanK
These pearls take a bit of time to open up for a nice brew. Smooth taste with no bitterness as I drank down 5 steeps. The taste is good but doesn’t reach the qualification to be called great. Still this is a fine tea to enjoy with another.

Another sample from Inkling. This was a fun one to try, since I don’t believe I’ve had any other pearls besides jasmine pearls. I got a good deal of malt from this one and enjoyed it while getting some work done in the morning, but it honestly isn’t one I see myself seeking out to buy.

This is one of the best flavored green teas I have had. The strawberry flavor is strong and not artificial tasting. There is an underlying vegetal note that is barely perceptible. There is a natural sweetness to the tea. This is good stuff. I bought more of this the other day when I went to the store.

Got lazy this afternoon and western brewed this. This is a pretty nice tea. It is fairly earthy and fairly sweet. There is little bitterness to it. There is another note, a positive note that I detect but I’m not sure how to describe. I bought this again the other day so this may be a different batch, more recent.

I steeped this one time in a 16oz Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with three puer pearls or about 15g and boiling water for 2 minutes after a 20 second rinse.

This is a sweet and earthy puerh with little or no bitterness. Even brewing it at 2 min this morning for more caffeine it is not bitter. I usually western brew puerh for 30 sec but I wanted caffeine.

Picked this one out this morning while looking for another tea that I never did find. Bought this about a year ago from my local tea shop but it was properly stored. It is very tasty. It is sweet with the flavor of peaches. It is not astringent, it is not vegetal.

Thank you so much to AllanK for sending me some of this delicious tea! I’ve never had a black pearl tea before and wasn’t quite sure what to expect…as it turns out, this is one of the best straight black teas I’ve ever tried! Even after a 6-minute steep, it’s super smooth…I don’t notice any bitterness or astringency and I feel no need to add milk (which is unusual for me when drinking a straight black tea). There’s a nice natural sweetness here with notes of chocolate, honey, and malt. And on top of all that, you can keep re-steeping it practically all day. I may have found a new favorite…

Flavors: Chocolate, Honey, Malt, Smooth

I am glad you liked it. It was my favorite straight black from Clipper Ship Tea Company, a company that is rumored to soon have a website. They have switched from selling tea by “30 cup” sizes and now sell in 50g and 150g sizes, etc. Once their website gets going it would be worth checking out. I have gotten a lot of good tea from them.

This tea is tasty but strange. It is a blend with puerh tea, coffee beans and something else, I don’t know what until I call Clipper Ship Tea Company and find out. It tastes like someone brewed 2/3 of a cup of puerh and mixed it with 1/3 of a cup of coffee. I get the flavor of the coffee first and the flavor of the puerh in the background. I know the Chinesse sometimes blend coffee beans with puerh tea but this is a first for me. I am not sure whether or not I like it but I think I do like it. However, I wouldn’t want to drink it often so I’m glad I only bought 50g.

I brewed this once in a 18oz teapot with 3 tsp leaf and boiling water for 30 sec.

I have to say, this tea really woke me up this morning. Must be the coffee.

Kittenna

Cow Harbour made me laugh :P

AllanK

Cow Harbor is an actual place in Northport, LI. I don’t know how it got that name. The tea shop is from Northport. Many of their teas have LI based local names.

AllanK

There is also a race held there every year called the Cow Harbor 10K.

Kittenna

Haha, that makes much more sense!

Picked up some more of this the other day. Don’t actually know if it is the same batch or not. It is a nice tasting puerh with a fair amount of fermentation flavor. I am in a bit of a hurry this afternoon so this got western steeped. It is still quite good. Nice with a mildly sweet taste.
