Thanks ToiToi!! This one smells so strongly of cinnamon. I feel like this tea is strong in cinnamon and clove flavors. There is a bit of a citrusy flavor to it as well. Thanks again!

Scottish Caramel Toffee Pu-Erh from Darlene's Teaport

Scottish Caramel Toffee Pu-erh This one is not bad at all in fact it’s quite nice. The aroma of the dry leaf is very sweet like candy and earthy at the same time, the aroma of the steeped leaves at first is slightly pasty like some type of sweet dough yet very earthy, musty and kind of mushroom like. I rinsed this one because of the musty smells and the first steep tasted almost just like the way I described the aroma but not really in a good way I was very musty almost fishy at first and very dough like those flavors started to fade after the second steep and the flavors were very strong but not very sweet like a toffee candy the way it smelled so at that point I added some sweetener to it that really brought out the flavors, by the third steep slightly sweetened this was a very nice tea it tasted slightly like caramel and toasty very rich it does not need much sweetener but just a touch to make it come alive. the forth cup is really good you can taste the earthy puerh and caramel type flavors. 5th cup is still very earthy and delicious so far tho it is now starting to fade away but I usually start with short steeps and increase times as I go along so I made quite a few cups already. 6th cup I decide to have again without the sweetener because I just don’t care for too much sweet teas, the color has faded out some and the flavor is weak and taste almost of watered down whiskey still not too bad, I don’t think this one is going much further. It was a nice tea over all probably one that I will purchase again in the future, I recommend you try it if you LOVE puerh. After this tea I felt the need for a mild green tea to cleanse my palate because this tea was just so rich and flavor full.

Paradiso Peach from Darlene's Teaport

I suppose there really is NO tea in here but.. wow. This stuff was great. The 4 oz bag I got was gone in under a week. I really couldn’t get enough of it. The peach is refreshing and potent. The herbals complemented the peach very well. I don’t tend to add sugar to teas but tea really made this one “pop”. I wish Darlene’s tea port had better shipping practices. I really do not like their packaging and will not be reordering from them.

This is one of my favorite teas from Darlene’s Teaport. The flavor pops out and just works. The coconut flavor is very light if there at all but it is unneeded.

Absolutely love this tea. Was probably my first loose leaf tea and definitely keep going back to it. Darlene’s teaport seems to be one of the most economical of loose leaf tea.

Long Island Strawberry Green from Darlene's Teaport

I am pretty sure I got this in *Emilie*’s sale boxes, but I’m honestly not 100% sure. This is a clear sign that I have too many samples to go through! Yet I am jonesing for more swaps, sigh.

I cold brewed this, since I don’t really tend to like strawberry hot (unless it’s with some other flavors) and, well, it’s summer, the perfect time for iced tea! Though of course it was 75 and rainy all day. This tea has a nice, fresh strawberry flavor, and there’s something tropical going on too in the background. The ingredients list says pineapple but the description says papaya, curious! Either way, I think it adds a little something special to what might otherwise be a run-of-the-mill strawberry green. The sencha base is also very buttery, and has a very rich mouthfeel! I like this one a lot more than I thought I would, and for the ridiculous price of $5.99 for 4oz I think this might be making its way into my cupboard…

Special Thanks to Tommy The Toad for this one! I got a nice lil package from him today! Woot!

This certainly is CRAZY Dark Brown in color!

I don’t really know why I was thinking it was going to be slightly bitter or super malty…it’s quite different than I expected once I saw how dark it was!

It doesn’t have much for aroma but the taste is pretty good! It’s a nice, solid medium strength black tea with a thick texture. Full bodied and rich, even.

As it cool as room temp for about 2 to 3 minutes it seems to get stronger! Interesting and bold! I like it!

Vanilla Chai from Darlene's Teaport

I got this tea as a sample from Emilie and I couldn’t be happier that I did! I am always weary of chais because they always come out super spicy or super cinnamon-y and I am just not a big fan of either of those being overpowering. I do like chai in general, though, so I wanted to give this chai a shot. This chai is AMAZING! The vanilla is super smooth and while the cinnamon and spice flavors are there, they are not overpowering, just complementary to the vanilla and the tea itself. I prepared this chai with a little bit of vanilla soymilk, heated first, and it reminds me perfectly of the chai lattes I used to get working at Barnes and Noble in college. Perfect.

Great tea for breakfast. I dont leave big long tasting notes on teas because I just dont feel the need or want to do so I simply state if I liked the tea or not sometimes I’ll talk about the taste of the tea but usually I’m not a man of many words, thats just the way I do things :) I like this tea steeped strong.
