Love, LOVE, LOVE! So perfect :3 Sometimes I would leave tea in there and it would get gross and hard to clean, but just pour baking soda and water in and leave it overnight. Perfect!

I cold steeped this for over 24 hours. I don’t think I used enough leaf since it is very light. Right out of the fridge, it is a refreshing drink and a plus, it doesn’t need sweetener. I wouldn’t say it’s especially unique, but sometimes you need a departure from exciting teas for something simple and safe.

Bought this at the Moncton store while the gf and I were heading back from our trp to Halifax earlier this week. I told the SA that I was looking to try more of DT’s white teas and this was one of the three she pulled down from the shelf.

I wasn’t sure how much I would like this since it smelled so sweet and I’ve been looking for more vegetal teas lately. This turned it to be a delight. It has a delicious caramel flavour to it and I really wish it wasn’t so expensive or I’d add it to my permanent collection.

Fjellrev

I agree, it’s ridiculously expensive. This is a tea to snag whenever they have promotions where you get free tea when you spend an x amount of money.

TeaLady441

Yeah I totally abuse the system just to get this one free because it’s so expensive otherwise!

Here’s a quick tasting note from the Walmart checkout. I tried this iced to-go, and I love it. It wouldn’t be great hot, but it’s enjoyable iced.

Apparently I CAN do hibiscus. Agave helped.

This is one from my swap with Tigress Al.

Not to fond of the smell of the dry tea. I couldn’t even say what it smelled like. Kind of like yeast and that alcohol smell that sometimes 52 teas has.

The taste of the brewed tea is not awesome but it is not bad. It reminds me of dark chocolate and burnt caramel. I am not really getting any type of salted caramel flavour. Gets more flavourful as it cools. It makes an ok dessert tea. Not one I would have normally tried on my own.

It’s 9:43pm and I’m sat listening to awful karaoke from the pub next door, even my cat can’t sleep through it! Playing Skyrim is taking my mind off it a little though so all is well. I’ve had to buy a new fish tank as the repairs we did only lasted for a few days. So me and my husband both chipped in almost £400 for a new tank and stand, changing from a 160 litre tank to a 250 litre tank. In a week or so I will try to post pictures of it with it’s new decorations, going for a natural and heavily planted theme. :)

……………………………

Thank you jessiwrites for this tea.

This sample smells sweet but also spicy and thick, like strawberry licorice but sweeter and with a hint of cinnamon. Very unusual and not like strawberry or rhubarb as such but it still smells nice on any account.

Once steeped and with a little rock sugar added this tea tastes like sweet but mild strawberry with hints of cinnamon and non specific fruit. No rhubarb or crumble as the name would suggest. It’s more like a spicy berry punch very similar to warm cider than strawberry rhubarb crumble. It’s fairly nice but just not what I was expecting. My husband isn’t a fan either, he thought I got the packets mixed up until I showed him.

Sipdown!

It’s weird to have a non-black tea in the morning, but this was good! Definitely something I’d consider picking up in the future.

Thanks, Heather!

Thanks, Heather, this one is pretty good! I live err, love honey, so it’s not surprising that I like this tea.

It is really honey scented, and flavored. There’s a depth behind the honey that has to be the rooibos and mate, but the flavour definitely isn’t rooibos or medicinal.

Hmm. As it has mate in it, it’s more of a morning/lunch tea for me. Unfortunately this makes it’s application limited, as I really prefer a black tea in the morning.

So this is a tea I’ll probably have around occasionally, but I won’t need to keep stocked in my cupboard.

(I’m drinking this tea while kitten-sitting. They’ve been going 100% since I got here and gave them food, and kitten-mama is trying to hide from them and get pets. So adorable, all of them.)

Plunkybug

I do like this, but I do agree…I like my morning tea to be black or a dark oolong. This is good on some days off though. I got it so I could see what hubby thought since he misses the Arizona Iced TEa Herbal Tonic he got in the states earlier this year.

Cool, sipped down an entire 100g tin of this. I’d totally get more in the future but I’d like to take a break from it now, maybe use the tin for something else. It’s so fruity and happy tasting.

The past 24 hours have been awful. I drove my mom and I to a nearby town for groceries where we kept having to dodge people we know but don’t want to deal with. Plus I ran into an old coworker of mine from Edmonton who now works there as a teacher, so I had to explain my academic failures (which aren’t truly so if you know the whole story, but who wants to ever listen to that) to her and justify why I’m in the middle of nowhere, and the produce at both stores was quite atrocious so we ended up not getting much, which made the trip a waste of time.

Then I wake up this morning to discover my mom with a bashed up face. She apparently fell and hit her face to the nighttable last night, so her cheekbones are all swollen and bruised, plus she got bashed in the eye, on the actual eyeball, and the cornea is completely blood red. And for those of you who remember, she’s had a plethora of high-risk eye surgeries over the past couple years (a couple of which could leave you blind due to the slightest slip-up) and is still recovering from them so I was freaking out trying to figure out how to get her to a hospital in the middle of nowhere. After calling three hospitals/clinics, whose optometrists are all either not in today or already left and done for the day (and doctors at emergency won’t be able to help her since they don’t have the proper equipment and knowledge to deal with such an issue), we figured that the closest we could get to is to a city right by Edmonton, but I can’t do city driving. So, long story short, she was able to find a neighbour to drive there, so I’m sitting here now nervously drinking this cold brew and eating liquorice all sorts (all the jelly buttons and coconut rolls are belong to me). Stupid butterfly effect. None of this would have happened had we not gone out yesterday.

Right. Sorry, I know this isn’t a diary, but it’s very frustrating and stressful to continually watch her get hurt, have health complications, etc, which are preventing us from packing everything, organizing an auction, selling the house, etc, to get out of here once and for all. I feel like we’ll be trapped here forever.

So, this tea. Good as usual. Ended up cold brewing it for two days and it didn’t go too tart or syrupy.

Lindsay

Ugh, sorry about your awful day. :( Glad you have good tea…?

Sil

I’m so sorry my dear. If there is anything I can do from here let me know. hugs

Tamarindel

So sorry about your mom! Hope she’s ok :(

sren

That’s really rough stuff, and feeling helpless is awful. Glad you’ve got tea and licorice!

Christina / BooksandTea

Oh, that sounds so stressful. I hope your mom gets the medical attention she needs.

Maddy Barone

Holy moly! Hugs.

mrmopar

Hope both of you are ok.

carol who

:( Hope things get better soon!

Fjellrev

Thanks for listening and all the support, everyone! <3 I feel terrible about dumping all of this onto here and am tempted to even delete it.

Fjellrev

I feel horrible for even dumping all of this onto here and am tempted to just delete it. Nothing to see here. :)

Roswell Strange

Hope your mom is doing ok! Also; this is your tasting note to write what you please with! If someone has a problem with that, fuck ’em.

scribbles

Oh no! I hope things get better soon!

Maddy Barone

One of the reasons I come back to Steepster over and over is the community aspect. Even though I haven’t actually met anyone in person, everyone is friendly and supportive. Don’t delete!

caile

Oh no, I’m so sorry and hope you will both be ok! Hugs!!

Fjellrev

Wow, I am so overwhelmed by the amazing amount of support in this community. Thank you all so much!

And I totally agree with you, Maddy, that I get the same vibes from here and always enjoy reading about people’s days/lives because we have such a unique community full of awesome individuals.

Fjellrev

And I love the bluntness, Roswell. ;)

TeaBrat

sorry to hear about your Mom. Don’t worry I do this kind of venting sometimes too

Earlier today, my former supervisor presented my research at a rather prestigious conference and I’m not sure how to feel about it. That said, I thought it would be appropriate to add Le Petit Chat Malin white wine to this wonderful tisane.

Kind of like sangria! And especially tasty with chicken caesar salad and garlic toast. The symphony of red fruits and wine almost fools my mind into thinking that it’s summer again. Ok, not really, but it’s refreshingly delicious.

Dessert shall be homemade vaniljekranse (a type of Danish butter cookie) with… an equally wonderful hot tea TBD.

Plunkybug

Homemade butter cookie? Sounds delicious!

Morning cold brew to get an early start with hydration. So juicy and bursting with flavour. My mom chose this one after finishing the Cotton Candy and although I was looking forward to trying something new, I’m never opposed to having this one!

Btw, you know that Bare Minerals order I was whining about weeks ago? Still hasn’t arrived despite actually calling them on Dec 2, the day the parcel arrived back at their warehouse, to immediately speak to someone and have it dealt with. They claimed it’ll soon be shipped out again. Days went by and never got a confirmation email and/or tracking code. So I emailed again on Monday. It’s Saturday and still no response. Sigh. Wow. I placed this order at the end of October. lolwut.

Veronica

Boo to poor customer service. I hope it gets sorted out soon.

Fjellrev

Thanks! I feel bad complaining on here but sometimes companies need to be called out on stupidity.

caile

Oh gosh, that is terrible – it has been such a long ordeal with that order!

Fjellrev

Yeah, I know it’s a super busy time with xmas around the corner but upon visiting their FB page, many people have been complaining about their customer service, claiming it’s been consistently bad for over a year now. I just hope all the lovely Steepsterites will have better luck this season with their online xmas shopping!
