I can’t remember the last time I had a darjeeling outside of a breakfast blend, but this is the epitomy of the flavor I think of when I think “breakfast tea”: A little sweet, slightly bitter and tannic, just barely earthy, and almost fruity. No overly dry aftertaste.
I took this straight this morning because I’ve been trying to really taste my teas, but I do think this would have been improved with just a touch of honey and/or lemon. It did the trick of waking me up when I was stiff and sore this morning after my track workout last night. I didn’t want to mooooooove!
So, I am trying this one again, because the last time I had this it was a tea to go, and it was bitter, and I thought maybe I’ll just get a small amount and try it again, because it really smells great.
I did kinda forget the water after it boiled, but it was still hot/warm so I used it anyway. Steeped about 4 minutes. It is considerably less bitter. It is a better cup than last time, for sure. I’m finding the mixed base kinda of hard to describe. I am getting a slightly floral fusty taste, and it is a little juicy tasting, too.
So, I would say, I’m still not incredibly seduced by this tea, but I am more seduced than I was the first time. I got 18g, so I can easily drink this down. Will decide after that if it deserves a restock or not.
Preparation
Not seduced. It was bitter. I did get a slightly floral juicy note, but that was it. Happy it was free with my Timolino for Earth Day yesterday.
Maybe it was just brewed wrong or something, or it got too strong in the giant pot they use, but yeah, so not seduced, though I might be if I did it on my own.
I brewed the tea myself and tried to be careful but I have a bit of my sample leftover to try again. Could be me cause I don’t often have luck with flavoured greens.
So yummy…. milky and creamy without the actual milk and cream….
I had this a couple of days back, and had done the same as I did with the coconut oolong from DT. I’m really taking a liking to oolongs, but unsure which one I would settle on as a long-term drink since I like to just stick with a couple of different teas.
I’m still in my experimenting stages… :D
Preparation
This is really more of a strawberry tea than an earl grey. It really tastes like a delicate strawberry and when lightly steeped it balances with the bergamot and earl grey well. When oversteeped (which I sadly do too often) The blackcurrant comes out and makes the blend pretty bitter. I couldn’t taste the tea at all when it got to that state.
I had this as a sample in store this morning. It was better than I expected. The chocolate and mint were well-balanced and the rooibos base was smooth. There was no artificial aftertaste like in a lot of chocolate teas I’ve tried. Like all chocolate teas though, it just left me craving a cup of hot chocolate. :-)
Shockingly, I didn’t totally hate the hibiscus in this one. It’s tart, as always, but everything else in there helped to balance it out enough so it wasn’t entirely overwhelming. Had the first steep hot, and then cold-brewed the leaves overnight for a second infusion.
Hot: it was pretty good. Sour like a grapefruit, with lots of other citrus flavors in there too. Cold-brewed: not so much. That made it taste more hibiscus-tart than citrus-tart. Had to dump half the cold cup.
I’m glad I got this for free because of their Earth Day promotion because if I had paid money for it, I would have thought it was a really waste of my money. This tea tastes and smells like seafood soup and tastes a little like it too. It’s got a seaweed/mussel quality to it. It’s definitely not what I’m looking for in a morning tea. At least it was light and smooth?
Thanks to Allie for this one; it’s one I’ve wanted to try for a quite a while now, so I’m glad to finally have the chance!
It’s interesting – very light tasting, and the green tea is really more of a background note than a main part of the flavor. Looking at the dry leaf, I wondered if all of the apple pieces would make it similar to Forever Nuts, but it was actually very different. It wasn’t salty like I would’ve thought from a popcorn tea, but it was still a very good “snack-time” cuppa.
Thanks to [email protected] for his wonderful work, My girlfriend left a week before our vacation to be with another man. I was desperate to get her back when I found dr.marnish. I tried 5 other people to do a spell to get her back and nothing worked. I was still alone. Then I found dr.marnish by accident. I don’t know how I found him, I don’t remember. But, when I first saw the good testimonies about his wonderful work and after reading the Testimonies, I decided I had to try and give it one last shot. After my spells, I got a text from my lover. And we started going back and forth by text, she asked to meet the next day. So we did, and that night we ended up sleeping together, and about a few days after we got back together. anyone who needs help, should email dr.marnish. He is the best.

I only had two perfect spoons of this one so I made a small latte with it as I didn’t want to drink it as just a regular tea.
It turned out pretty good actually. I’m actually kind of glad that I didn’t make it any stronger. It was a nice blueberry flavour without being overpowering and the base didn’t get too strong or overpowering either. I do appreciate how this one has real blueberries in it too as some of the other blueberry teas that I have tried have not had real berries in it and just flavouring.
So, either way, I quite enjoyed this tea. It was better than I remember it being before. Maybe as a latte helped?
So, I’m not much a blueberry person either. So me picking this one up is quite surprising. The one sales associate highly suggested it… plus I just remembered trying this tea in an iced chai once and it was good.
This one has a very strong blueberry smell. It’s quite surprising actually. I wasn’t expecting that at all. But it is. It filled the kitchen.
I added milk and a tiny bit of sugar ‘cause I was sort of looking to get a blueberry pie with icecream taste. I didn’t quite get that. It lives up to its name: blueberry jam. If I had used like a 2% milk I could see it being more of the ice creamy taste, but I don’t have that here.
I steeped for about 4.5mins and I’m getting the tiniest bit of bitterness from it. I think this one would be better at 4mins or slightly shorter even. The flavour is very blueberry flavoured. It’s actually really good. Maybe I like blueberries more than I thought? I’m not too sure if I’d get this one again, but I’m really glad that I got to try it.
One of my first thoughts upon trying this one too would be to add it to the strawberry shortcake tea, which is a tea that I’m really loving right now.
Again tried this one today. It’s not one of my favourites. I find it to be a bit too strong in the grassy tones, but it would be great for someone that enjoys that kind of thing. It’s very complex but still enjoyable if you like that kind of thing. Maybe some day…
I’m not a big green tea drinker, and even less of a straight green tea drinker. But I’ve had this one much too long… almost a year and a half, so it’s time I drink it. It came in a pack that I haven’t drank through yet.
Anyway, this tea is light, but I’m finding it to be very vegetal. I’m definitely one for flavoured green teas rather than plain ones. I’m not hating this one, but it’s not something I’d get again. It’s just a personal preference.
Preparation
All gone.
This one really grew on me once I accepted that the coco referred to coconut and not chocolate! Very creamy and spicy and satisfying. I paired it with the last of the little Santa chocolates filled with chocolate mousse that a coworker gave to my husband, so I did get my chocolate with this tea after all. I feel a sense of closure :)
Even though I really enjoyed this, not a repurchase now that I’ve been blending my own chai. I will consider putting a little toasted coconut in my brew basket with my chai blend sometimes! Spicy and coconut = yum in my book.
Preparation
I was in the mood for green tea this morning so I got this to go from the store. This definitely has that roasted did-I-make-this-with-water-out-of-the-coffee-maker-? taste. It’s not always my favorite, but this morning it hit the spot. I needed the roasty jolt. It has vegetal undertones, which I love in a great tea. There was also nice, light, buttery aftertaste. Got a little two bitter because I vastly over-steeped. Going to do a second steeping now.
When I bought this, I saw coco in the description and said “Ooooh chocolate chai!” and threw it in my cart. When it arrived I said “Oooooh I’m in the mood for some chocolate!” and made a pot. I tasted it and said to my husband “I don’t taste any chocolate!” and he said “I taste coconut” and I said “But it’s supposed to be chocolate!” and this went on for quite awhile before I USED MY READING SKILLZ to read both the packet and website which clearly states coconut. I’m not sure if this is better or worse than when I pried all of the little tongs off of Harney’s tagalong tins for months before realizing that you simply have to press the top to open it. I continue my reign as Steepster’s biggest dodo bird.
ANYWAY – Half way into the packet, I am finally over the embarrassment and can drink the tea for what it is — a sweet, delicious coconut chai. There is some pepper which nicely balances the very sweet coconut. Great choice in this one, even though I’m not usually big on the pepper. The chai spices are balanced. I still love the cinnamon chai the best, but am very happy with this as a change of pace, especially when I’m craving something sweet.
Preparation
You are FAR from a dodo bird! Speaking of birds, I got a new hen yesterday and she is so pretty and sweet. She escaped once in the car but rode happily in her nest on the 90 minute drive home. She got really excited when hubby stopped at Bojangles for a drink and fries, and we had to give her half the fries!
Haha! It was pretty hysterical! I just knew she was going to get past hubby and escape the car entirely. He got her back in her cage and she was nestled in until the fries came…
My hard copy may have perished, but one of these days, if I ever find “The Great Chicken Rodeo” story I wrote for a magazine (based on a story my mom told me) I will send it your way.
