So it isn’t fair of me to give this tea an actual rating because I have mixed it with The Skinny. But this mix is really good if not a little heavy on the peppermint. I think next time I will put a little less of Le Digestif in my mix. The smell is great but there is a taste at the back of my throat that I get with peppermint. But I will try this sometime when I am not feeling well since I really think it will be good on it’s own. I just will have to make sure I don’t oversteep it.
Good mix though. I am just waiting for my cats to smell the catnip. Although one of my guys is immune to catnip. He prefers honeysuckle.
Preparation
errr, I am so confused. This is the tea I ordered, but it tasted nothing like blueberries. In fact, I could swear it was an oversteeped milky oolong (ok, my fault- I left the bag in too long)
Except, well when I finally did toss the bag (no way to resteep. Boo!), the leaves, from what I could see, looked “white”.
That said, I’m not going to rate it this time… that wouldn’t be fair.
Even if I did get the milky oolong, I wasn’t all that impressed, as the other versions of that same tea are superior in my books.
Oh well >.<
I made this as a latte with almond milk. It’s is a nice-tasting mate. I’m definitely smelling the banana others have noted, and taste that a bit too. It’s a bit offputting for me, sensitive as I am to banana, but the chocolate-raspberry combination works well enough here to make up for it. This has made a nice, creamy latte that tastes rich but not too heavy.
Unfortunately, I’m having the same experience with this as I have with other mates; for some reason mate kind of seems to turn my stomach even if I find one I like the taste of. It’s just doing weird things and making me feel queasy. Ugh! My throat also always feels strange after/while drinking mate. What’s with that?
Having this iced right now. I think I should have added a splash of lemon juice to it but it is still pretty good. And it is so hot here that this is really good and satisfying. The lime isn’t quite strong enough but it may be a little overpowered by the coconut. Still really good. So glad I decided to try this iced.
Preparation
This is a tea I would never had considered without provocation. I don’t like the tought of banana in tea, and had no urge to even try it until I smelled the tin in store. Somehow, that delicious smell convinced me to try it. Retrospectively, it smells sort of like those banana marshmallow candies…far more like candied banana than real bananas, but it’s a nice smell.
I bought 26 g of it to try out…and after smelling a brewed cup, I think I might regret that choice. The smell of the steeped tea has a weird pungent edge that I don’t appreciate at all…still a candied banana smell as well. Why am I having this at 10 am after having only eaten a cheesecake ball for breakfast? Apparently I am a sucker for punishment..
First sips give are unimpressive. The taste matches the weird smell I got from the tea. I know that my dislike is partially my own fault, as I’m not feeling the greatest, but this might have been a mistake. There is a very weird taste mixed in with the sugary banana. Maybe the green rooibos base? I’ve had green rooibos in other teas, but I could never identify it. I think I will let this cup cool and try it cold, see if that is any more impressive. For me, this is not a tea I should have tried, so I’m not going to rate it. It’s probably a 30 for me. Not extremely disgusting, but definitely something I don’t ever want to drink.
Hem… This tea has been made to be drank cold… Am I right? If you try it cold, I wanna know if it’s a good one! Because “Dreamsicle” was a really big failure in my opinion. Hope that’s not the case for this one…
I didn’t realize it was made to be drank cold…and I don’t really like the idea of a tea that is only good cold. I’m not really super fond of iced or cold tea. Either way, at room temperature it was still not anything I wanted to drink, so the beau poured the pot out (he also didn’t like it). This was definitely a case of letting my nose and the sales clerk get the better of me.
Yum yum yum yum yum!!! Anyone who likes London Fogs needs to buy this tea! Making it hot in a cup and adding a bit of milk is freaking amazing however steeping it in steamed milk and making a london fog is absolutely to die for! The best part is because there is vanilla in the tea you don’t need to add the sugary vanilla syrup!
