drank Merry Cranberry by DAVIDsTEA

The dry mix is so heavy with fruit, which makes for one expensive tea. I used my entire 20 gram sample to make this cup, and being the frugalista that I am, this already starts me off on the wrong foot.

As for the taste, there is a mild tartness, as one would expect with cranberries, but it’s not translating quite right at the end of the sip. It’s leaving a strange dry feeling on my tongue – it’s on the verge of a dry-sour-almost chalky taste that I don’t enjoy. To make matters even worse, this doesn’t re-steep well.

Oh man…There is something in this that is not agreeing with my tummy :(

The idea of this tea is so fun and unique, and I love that it has mistletoe in it – so festive! It’s not a bad tea, it just isn’t well-suited to me. Between that and the price, I have no plans to buy it again.

this one has fantastic health benefits but you are right about the cost… I got a tin and at 100g the tin was nowhere near filled.. I don’t think it was half… I got them to fill it and it pretty much broke the bank… I don’t even particularly like the taste but it worked well for my friend when she had a uti, so I wanted to keep some around in case of emergency.

I never thought about the health benefits – interesting. It really is too bad about the cost though.

its potent.. cause its real cranberries and then green tea…. haha…. the lack of added sugar must be what made it work way quicker than cranberry juice!

Sipdown! Hmm, it looks like this tea is on here twice – once with the ampersand and once as “green AND fruity.” Oh well…

This makes such a delicious cold brew. Seriously, it’s awesome. It’s definitely fruity, very tropical, and sweet on it’s own. Wonderfully refreshing & among the best cold brewed teas I’ve had.

Cold brewed a good amount of this in an extra large mason jar this morning, and I’m just drinking it now. This is delicious! It’s absolutely fruity, in a very “tropical” way. And the green rooibos makes it a very light and refreshing brew. It’s sweet enough to serve cold without any additives. I might have to pick up some more of this once summer rolls around.

Courtney sent me a sample of this forever ago, it seems, and I totally forgot about it. I pulled it out the other day and decided to give it a shot this afternoon.

I don’t know why I waited so long! It’s so yummy. I don’t get chocolate like everyone else seems to, to me, this tastes like caramel or toffee or something equally sweet and delicious. I very much enjoyed this cup, and I am going to prepare a second infusion right now.

Thanks, Courtney! I’m looking forward to drinking some more of this one.

I had a miserable tummy ache last night at my mom’s show, so I took a little teabag full of this (with a tiny bit of peppermint tossed in). I had three cups, and it was delicious.

I don’t know if it made me feel any better, but it certainly tasted good, and made my painful evening much more enjoyable.

I’m actually sipping on this tea at this very moment, I got this tea as a to-go cup because I wasn’t quite sure if I should buy this in bulk.
It’s not that bad really, but not something I would buy in probably fifty-a hundred grams.
It’s banana-y that’s for sure, and you can taste the fruitiness and coconut in it. I’m drinking this iced with a bit of agave and it’s nice and sweet, doesn’t taste watered down. The more I drink this, the more fonder I become with it’s flavour. It’s yummy, but not a must-have for me. Maybe when I’m feeling it, I might pick this up in twenty-five to fifty grams.

This was a sample from one of my DT orders. I was kind of hoping I wouldn’t like it much…..since I do not need more black tea! …..but……it’s good! I like licorice and chocolate so…..I didn’t stand a chance! The licorice is soft flavor, kind of spicy, like a melted twizzler?……a nice milky cocoa taste too….sometimes I think Davids mixes too many flavors together……but in this case, it all works ! Licorice, spice, cocoa creamy good!

I have a ton of black tea, and many on the “need to try” list, so won’t rush to buy this right away but would be great morning or work day tea that I would buy again sometime for sure!

drank Glitter & Gold by DAVIDsTEA

Pretty! The dry leaf is beautiful – medium-sized black leaves with bold, sparkly gold sugar balls. The aroma of the dry tea is splendid as well – lots of cinnamon and warm cloves.

The steeped tea is a real treat to behold – a gold shimmer is clearly visible across the surface of the liquid. It’s almost too pretty to drink. Almost. The steeped smell is just like the dry aroma, maybe slightly milder, but not much. Very enticing. The cinnamon is most prominent.

Taste: Definitely picking up lots of warm cinnamon, and the black tea base is wonderful. No bitterness or astringency at all. The cloves and spices are mild enough to not overpower the tea leaves, yet they provide a warmth to the cup that makes for a comforting morning drink. Plus, there’s just enough sweetness from the gold sugar pieces to offset any dryness or sharpness that may come from cinnamon. I’m really enjoying this one.

Just got this one as a sample from David’s Tea!

The smell of the leaves is just like mango, but I don’t smell much pomegranate in there. Smells fantastic.

The brew is a medium yellow colour, not very dark – and smells just as the dry leaves do!

The tea tastes a little bit weaker than it smells, but overall it’s pretty good. I don’t usually drink mango/tropical flavoured teas, but this one isn’t too shabby!

drank Organic Cold 911 by DAVIDsTEA

I was most definitely not expecting to have to break this out of the caffeine free sampler pack so soon! In fact, my throat started to hurt nearly immediately after I left DAVIDs. Not sure whether this is seasonal allergies or an actual cold, but either way, it was enough for me to try this first.

Cold 911 smells like a minty medicinal tea. Steeped it is a surprisingly citrusy tea. I can’t decide if it is an orange peel tea with a mint echinacea or if it’s the other way around. Still, I love citrus, so tasting some orange in here was a nice surprise. I drank it without honey, but I imagine the addition would be great too.

Not bad at all!

drank Banana Dream Pie by DAVIDsTEA

Just got this in an order from David’s Tea!

The smell of the leaves is amazing if you really like chocolate and bananas. Smells phenomenal! The brew smells a bit weaker, but still has that awesome chocolate banana scent.

The colour of the brew is a nice medium yellow, not too dark for a black tea surprisingly.

The taste of the tea is pretty good. Not the greatest flavoured black tea i’ve had (I don’t drink that many flavoured teas, but I like them once in a while). When you take a sip, you can taste mostly chocolate, and it finishes with a banana after-taste. I like it, but I set my standards very high for anything banana related.

Overall, pretty good tea!

drank Vanilla Orchid by DAVIDsTEA

When I tried this as the tea of the day, I fell in love. It was everything that I wanted Vanilla Oolong to be. Excited I bought myself a 100g tin, but somehow between the store and home, it lost its magic! I found the vanilla taste to be much more artificial than Vanilla Oolong (one of my favourites), and when oversteeped, it creates a bitter, almost tar-like aftertaste.

Overall, still a nice every day tea, but considering that there are cheaper every day teas, I likely won’t be refilling this one.

My first time trying a Pu’erh Tea. I don’t really know what I’m supposed to taste, but I do taste a light chocolate and a very little bit of citrus. It’s somewhat pleasant, but there is again a little chemical taste to it, which I can’t place. It tastes a little like a bad chocolate orange candy.

So one thing you should know, I absolutely HATE anything banana or coconut flavoured (I eat the real stuff), but I got this as a sample and I figured I would as least try it. To say the least, it is actually not too bad; I mean I wouldn’t go out and buy it, but it could be worse. When I first opened the package, you can smell an overwhelming scent of banana (similar to what reminded me of banana bread) – even through a stuffed nose. I don’t know if it’s my cold messing with my senses but it tastes like strawberry banana with a hint of coconut; I can’t taste any cocoa. All in all it’s an ok drink. I have two samples so I might try the next one iced.

Just ok. I wish I had bought the package of Pink Flamingo that I got to go from David’s Tea this morning. I’ve been craving a cherry tea and this one smelled pretty good. The taste does not match up to the smell though. There is a chemical taste to it. I will finish what I got of it, but I won’t buy it again.

canadianadia

I was so disappointed with this tea also :(

Fuzzy_Peachkin

Yeah. And I bought too much of it. I’m overexcited about David’s Tea. I will have to pace myself.

canadianadia

Oh no! that’s unfortunate, I only bought 20 grams of it back when I first tried it, and I felt like that was too much. :P ick!

This is a darn fine tea. A wonderful friend/co-worker gave me a little sample of this tea, along with a cinnamon honey stick. Brewed tea at boiling for 4 min, dropped that honey in there and OMG. So. Good. A great spiced tea with deeper flavour than some, probably from the carob. If you like chais or anything of that nature, you will LOVE this. Must buy!

Sipdown! 834. Another quick hot/cold-brew. A very small one, too. Why I didn’t just finish this off last time, I have no idea.

Anyhow, I do quite enjoy the melon flavour in here, but I think I’m not a big fan of unsweet melon, so it would be better with sweetener for me. I’m also not a huge mate fan, though it’s not really noticeable here.

Cold-brew! I thought this one would do really well cold-brewed. And, it is pretty successful, although I think I underleafed slightly. There’s definitely tasty honeydew flavour, but there’s a bit too much mate flavour (or possibly green rooibos?) and I’m not a big fan of it. I think I have just a bit of this one left; I may still cold-brew the rest because it is certainly refreshing and all that, but it’s not my favourite. I’m guessing it would be better with sweetener, but I’ve been a bit too sweetener-happy lately!
