I have been looking at these mugs for MONTHS! Not even exaggerating. I finally decided to get one. I got the Eggnog snowflake one apart of the winter collection. It’s so pretty. I’m totally loving it. It is the perfect size and I love the filter with the lid. It just is awesome.
I’m looking to get the glass one with the DavidsTea log on it in the spring. :)
I have had this one for far too long.. don’t ask. I don’t actually know how long… either way, I’m enjoying this as latte form. Because of its age, I went ahead and used the whole thing which in my estimations would be 2.5tsps.
This worked out so well. It’s nice and smooth from the coconut. And it hasn’t turned so I have to think I got it last year in one of the sample packs I got.
Anyways, 6min steep, lots of hot milk, frothed up and inhaled in only a couple of minutes.
As much as I enjoyed this one, I don’t think I would get this again. I know I wouldn’t reach for it very often, which is shown in my lack of having this one sooner. Anyways, enjoyed but not a restock item.
I don’t know if I care for this one fully… It’s good, it’s a nice chai flavour, but I expected it to be a bit stronger. I love the coconut added to it. I thought it was a nice touch.
I prefer black tea bases instead of rooibos for something like this. I find the black base makes it nice and… sturdy or something.
Still quite nice. I thought it was delicious. If it had some vanilla flavour it would be kinda nice too! Maybe some agave in a vanilla flavour would be nice.
Preparation
Mate Andale!
This was my first mate and it was out of this world, being loaded with cocoa, chocolate and cinnamon it should appeal to almost anyone. It was compared to a glass of hot chocolate spiked Mexican style with a butt load of cinnamon, this was an accurate description!
Dry this tea looks like a tin of hot chocolate mix, its loaded with cocoa to the point everything has a coating of cocoa on it, then there is tons of chocolate chips to reinforce the chocolate aspect. Now that I think about it I couldn’t even see any mate leaves in there! It has a strong cocoa and cinnamon smell that is prevalent throughout enjoying this beverage.
The final brew for this tea is dark and dirty looking because of all the cocoa, chocolate and cinnamon; however I assure you it will taste delicious. This beverage does not require any sweetener but it does drink a lot better with some milk, that just makes it really seem like a hot chocolate.
TIP: As advised by the girls at Davids I had to try this tea as a mate latte. I did and it was freaking amazing, so I am going to pass that tip along!
Preparation
Orange you glad you bought this tea?
Wow I was at the mall already doing stuff, I had no plans of going in to Davids as I had already done my tea shopping, I was running ahead of schedule so I decided a nice cup of tea would be an awesome treat. As usual I was smelling a bunch of the tea’s killing some time when this guy caught my eye, and nose!
Dry the leaves are small and black, quite similar looking to most black tea leaves. It has an amazing citrus smell, heavy on the orange smell with some slight lemon notes in the mix. While steeping the tea has a definite orange smell that is just utterly delicious smelling, even more so then when the tea is dry.
The final brew of this tea is very dark, even darker then some of my black teas; however when you hold it up to a strong enough light you can see it is actually a very dark red color. It has an amazing orange/citrus taste to it, there is licorice root that may contribute to the citrus taste but it certainly doesn’t give the tea a licorice taste. Overall I am in love with this tea, its horribly addictive and tasty it has certainly won a lifetime spot in my cupboard.
Preparation
Vanilla Orchid, sure has a pleasing smell to it, almost like a yogurt or something, certainly not the typical french vanilla smell most people are used to, this is REAL vanilla. This was my first try on an Oolong tea and I must say it is a pretty nice tea.
Dry the tea looks like dried up rolled up grass almost, very unique looking tea I must say, it has a soft natural vanilla smell to it. While it is steeping the tea retains it’s light vanilla scent and the leaves just explode open, and I mean this stuff will fill up your infuser, use caution if using a tea ball it might explode from the pressure!
The final brew is a light green colour with the same natural vanilla scent to it, the tea has a lovely soft taste to it, if you like flavored teas or real powerful black teas you may not enjoy this one. Would taste great with some of Davids (or other brands) Vanilla or Raspberry agave.
Preparation
I love this tea. O___O
I was unconvinced with the description, unconvinced with the look (floaty bits that take a few to dissolve), unconvinced…. BUT. SO GOOD. I usually hate banana things, but this is very (very) good.
Preparation
This is weird. I don’t know if I like it. The description sounded amazing but it kinda tastes like grassy watered down kool-aid. That being said, I’d drink it again. What is wrong with me. Maybe I just really like grassy watered down kool-aid, what’s it to you. (It was an extra that came with my order.)
It’d probably be really good iced in the summer, too.
Preparation
Crazy! It’s a mate blend? I haven’t much of those but when I used to drink Chocolate Rocket it made me jumpy – so much caffeine! Looking at the ingredients I can see why you think it tastes look Kool-Aid! :P Maybe if you steeped it longer? They suggest 4-7 min, which is quite a range, but maybe the mate would kick your butt at the strength.
Iced probably would be great!
I’m gonna try it again tomorrow morning, the other half of the sample. I’ll try the longer steep >:D
Oh yeah, yeah, Mate – which I have never had before, actually. But “Tang” comes up a LOT in the reviews page hehehe so I was not far off with that Kool-Aid XP
Haha. I look very reading team other reviews. Some are hilarious. Tang… Kool-Aid… The only difference is the amount of sugar?
I’m pretty cautious around chai, just because it can sometimes be too spicy and I’m not someone who loves A LOT of spice… But not only does this tea have the right amount of spice, but it actually tastes like pumpkin. By far the best pumpkin tea I have ever had. Absolutely love it.
I’m normally a huge mango fan but mango seems like one of those flavours that’s difficult for a tea company to get right. This one is…okay, though it doesn’t quite meet the mark. This one at least actually tastes like mango, although it’s a bit too tart for my liking. I was a bit surprised to see that there isn’t any hibiscus in the ingredients – it almost tastes like there is. I don’t normally sweetened white teas but I might try it with some honey or agave nectar next time to balance out the sourness.
Preparation
Cranberries, apples and spices. The mix just sounds fantastic and cozy to try while near the ice rink. Or at least while watching the figure skating season on television. It’s definitely a sweet dessert tea that I can agree with my fellow reviewers. It is the star anise, cinnamon and mistletoe that cuts through this however.
Closing my eyes as I drink this one I can picture hanging up the wreath and setting up the decorations with ease. Both from the taste and from the reminder of the appearance of the dry mix. Another great choice for the holiday season and picking up last minute gifts. Cheers!
Of all the Christmas teas that I had tried during my first year of David’s this one definitely caught my heartstrings. The same feeling of happiness hasn’t left me yet. I love the balance of flavor nuances and the candy canes are so cute! I found myself hoarding the supply I had received for my present so I could drink it all year round.
This year I have the special tin for the tea and the love has renewed even more. It is definitely Christmas cheer in a mug. Ahh…heaven! Now back to 106.9 FM and their continuous Christmas music for the full experience while drinking this tea.
first ingredient – hibiscus.
i was a tea newb and this was a sample.
here is a song about squirrels. kinda.
kinda about squirrels.
“Albini himself commented that this song is about a guy who wants to isolate himself from the world, so he tries to generate electrical power using squirrels. However, his efforts backfire and his life is overcome by these thousands of squirrels and they become the main purpose of his existence, totally defeating the purpose in the end.”

my own special version, which is where i take the chamomile stems and flowers out of the tea.
cuz i don’t like chamomile very much and this improves the flavor greatly in my opinion.
RIDICULOUS i know!
but i do like it this way. and it’s yellow warm and yummy nana flavor goes nicely with today’s overcast sky.

Hiccup – Buke and Gase (as covered by Anna B Savage)
haha! if i could give you my Dulce & Banana i totally would (but i have very little left). i have to confess, i picked the chamomile buds out of it too. …and i like it more now.
when my order of tea arrives i’m totally gonna lay all the packages out on my bed and roll around in them.
this writeup was posted 4 months ago. i’m consolidating some reviews and deleting useless ones. but also sometimes i find a typo and just can’t help myself from correcting it! and it always moves the review to the top again.
SO my question to you guys is HOW ANNOYING is this to you? should i wait and update all my tea posts at 5am while i do this consolidation so less people have to see them all and i don’t clog up anyone’s dashboard too much?
@gmathis – ehehehe, I do the same thing. My teas. My pretties. Lol.
@Schmiracles – It’s annoying, but do what you want with your reviews (I do!). It’s an irritatingly-designed system that never used to behave that way, but it’s not the user’s fault at all. I edit my entries all the time, and if people don’t like it, I’ll suggest they use the ‘Explore’ feature instead of the dashboard. Posts don’t pop to the front there. Or unfollow me :P It doesn’t greatly bother me, because I “like” most reviews I read, and so I can see if I have already read it. If by chance I haven’t, then I don’t care if it’s old and I’m reading it four months later. I like old reviews all the time.
hey Kittenna, ikwym!!! i actually “like” almost every single post that comes through my dashboard. mostly cuz i just love the conversations!! steepster is so free from the usual angst or competitiveness of other social boards that i just wanna hear what everyone has to say all the time!
also sometimes i just see a typo i made that i just MUST CORRECT hah! i don’t mind other people’s old post popping to the top at all. in fact it would probably be wicked cute to see some of the comment conversations i had over 6 months ago.
sometimes i will open my tea drawer, and i think i am trying to pick a tea to have next, but really i’m just staring at them and touching their canisters lovingly.
YES. This is by far the best mug I’ve found. I’ve got 2 glass ones now, as well as a a noble mug version and the giant one. LOVE them! Seems weird to rave about a mug like this, but they’re that good.
lol it’s so true! I didn’t think I’d love them as much as I do, but I really do. I was thinking I could even request one for Christmas! It’s coming up soon!
I like the option of steeping a single glass instead of a whole steeper. It really is perfect.
